benji93:Before Javi, there was Walter Mazzari and also Marco Silva. Yeah, Javi was unfairly let off. It was just too early. Something's gotta be wrong with the board. |

junnyjake:The most confusing one was Marco Silva, he was doing so well that Everton wanted to sign him in January but Watford refused only to sack him before the end of the season when Everton has appointed a new manager Someone in Watford's board is a big baby |

Earthquake1:Lol! Can you imagine they were blaming Everton for distracting him with their bid for him, reason why he was sacked?? |

New invitee Josh Maja has been training with the iconic number 10 kit previously worn with pride by Super Eagles legends Obi Mikel and Austin Okocha. Glasgow Rangers Joe Aribo is in line to wear the number 19 kit used by John Ogu at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations while Emmanuel Dennis and Paul Onuachu have been allocated the number 9 and 15 respectively. Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Oghenekaro Etebo, Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Kalu, Alex Iwobi, Chidozie Awaziem and Victor Osimhen have retained the shirt numbers they were allocated for the AFCON. Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho stays with the number 23 kit he wore in the national team's last outing against Tunisia while Ikechukwu Ezenwa wore the number 1 shirt. Young Fortuna Düsseldorf netminder Maduka Okoye and Uzoho shared the same jersey number, 23, in the final training session on Monday evening. Super Eagles Provisional Squad Numbers For Ukraine Friendly: Ikechukwu Ezenwa - 1 Ola Aina - 2 Jamilu Collins - 3 Troost-Ekong - 5 Leon Balogun - 6 Oghenekaro Etebo - 8 Emmanuel Dennis - 9 Josh Maja - 10 Moses Simon - 11 Semi Ajayi - 12 Anderson Esiti - 12* Samuel Chukwueze - 13 Paul Onuachu - 15 Samuel Kalu - 17 Alex Iwobi - 18 Joe Aribo - 19 Chidozie Awaziem - 20 Victor Osimhen - 21 Brian Idowu - 22 Francis Uzoho - 23 Maduka Okoye - 23* **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: ANS |

The report below is gotten from the YouTube video above Glasgow Rangers Star Joe Aribo Vows To Stick With Nigeria, Reveals Best Position https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/73132Aribo.png Glasgow Rangers' Joe Aribo has vowed to continue wearing the colours of Nigeria even though he is eligible to play for his country of birth, England for the time being. The former Charlton Athletic star is poised to make his international debut against Ukraine on Tuesday evening but playing in the game at the Dnipro Arena does not cap-tie him to the three-time African champions. In a YouTube video uploaded by the Super Eagles Media team, Aribo said : ''I am Joseph Aribo, I am from Ondo State. I play for Glasgow Rangers. ''I am really happy to have got this call-up to Nigeria and I just want to make the most of it and play as long as possible and just do what I can for the team and make sure that we continue being the best that we can be.'' Aribo has described himself as a midfielder with offensive and defensive qualities. ''I am a central midfielder and I like to get in and around the box. I can defend and I can attack,'' he concluded. Aribo, who has hit the back of the net four times in the new season, shares the same agent as Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Josh Maja. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: ANS (culled report from Super Eagles Youtube Channel). |

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says today’s international friendly match against the Ukrainian national team will kick start Nigeria’s preparations for the 2021 AFCON qualifying games, Completesports.com reports. Speaking ahead of the Dnipro Arena showdown, Rohr reiterates he is looking forward to a good game that will help in the development of his young squad, and recalls his first match against Ukraine as Niger Republic coach. “This match is the beginning of our preparations for the qualifying round of the next Africa Cup [of Nations]. Our team has been updated, and now we have a very young team. With a new captain. I really want to successfully start our new stage, so I hope to see a good game in the match with Ukraine, which, most likely, will reach the European Championship,” Rohr said. “The match against the Shevchenko team is a challenge for us. Five years ago, I was the head coach of the Niger team, and we met with the Ukrainian team in Kiev. Lost then 1 – 2, but we were very close to a draw. “This time, we are faced with a test game, the result of which goes into the background for us.” Rohr absolves Ukraine officials of any blame as regards the Super Eagles’ tough travel itinerary. “Yes, we arrived in the Dnieper on September 7th. This is related to logistics. For example, we received our luggage on Sunday. Perhaps this is due to some nuances in the work of airlines. But it certainly has nothing to do with Ukraine,” Rohr explained. “We were very warmly received, we trained these days on the condition of Dnipro, this is a great place for playing football.” The kickoff of tonight’s Ukraine vs Nigeria international friendly match is 7:30pm (Nigerian time). Earthquake1:Considering the players invited it's a friendly so I would expect a least 6/7 substitutions. We already know what Uzoho can do and this is an area of great concern the goal keepers, so l would prefer to see Maduka, and let's see his quality after all its a friendly. Winning is not that important but trying out players to see what options we have. This is a European football team and so the issues of limited physicality do not come into play for Osimhen as claimed by Rohr. So it will good to see what he brings. We need a more inventive midfield unfortunately Ebere is not there to be tested. Nonetheless, l look to see Aribo play the DM role but with more attacking prowess and drive. We know what to expect from Iwobi, Chukwueze. Etebo and Kalu so it's simply more of the same. Not sure where to watch the match anybody know❓ |
