Hello mama's pls help me.... My baby will begin creche tomorrow.. I'm so scared cuz I'm certain she will cry... How will I focus at work I hope they will take proper care of her... She's only 10months..mamas how did you deal with first day at creche Biko.

Awwww!! Mother's love. Its well dear. She might cry coz its her first time not because she's too young to start. Don't just be surprised that the sight of other children might interest her so much that she doesn't even remember you for those hours. My daughter started at 5 months plus and I must tell you I had thesame fears. I'm pleased to inform you that yours truly didn't cry for even a week. I was always calling her aunties, but to my greatest surprise,my princess enjoys every moment of her stay at the crèche.Once she sights the gate now, she'll start giggling. Hubby and I were surprised when she got back at 6 months or thereabout and started clapping. Can you imagined that? So momma, relax our Princess will be fine las las.Apart from sleeping, playing, changing diaper, they also learn from other children around.

One thing that worked for her is, we hand her over to her aunty at the gate,so she doesn't cry when hubby and I are about leaving her,so you can try that too.Regards to that beauty.

2WEEKS.. I REALLY DUNNO ABOUT THE RUNNING NOSE BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD JUST COVER HIM UP WELL AND BREAST FEED...HE IS TOO YOUNG FOR STEAMING SEF...AND THEY SAY NEW MUMS SHOULD NOT DRINK COLD WATER CUZ THE BABY WILL SUCK IT THROUGH BREAST..

SO SORRY O..JUST TAKE THINGS EASY AND STOP USING MENTHOL.

Good od morning house.
New member here.
I would love to mention this forum is quite valuable and useful.
Big thanks to the originators.

My daughter is 8 weeks today. She has been battling with laboured breathing for two weeks now. I've exhausted all my options... Saline spray, NoseFrida, steam inhalation, Cool mist humidifier.
Her nose is clear, no obstruction can be seen. But the mucus seems to be trapped at the back of her throat cos I can't get anything out with the NoseFrida.
It's beginning to affect her feeding.
From 90ml feeds we are back to 60ml which she finishes with a struggle.
She weighs 4kg as her birth weight was low (2.4) due to fibroids
Any other thing I can do to help my baby?

Have you had a doctor check her chest for congestion? New babies don't breathe smoothly but "laboured" seems a lot

Motic2 at 2 weeks me I cannot suggest any remedies outside the mentholatum you have done. Keep him covered, well fed and away from cold. observe today and maybe you may need to see a Doctor if no improvement

Cappo, welcome. Could he be reacting to dust or cold. Was he exposed to "direct air". When my son sneezes, I know the air is much and I cover him more and sneezing stops. kiss to him

Hello mamas,
How important is 18weeks immunization ? On the card given to us at the hospital after the 14weeks next is 6 months but the GSK man there that gives Rota vaccine said that there is for 18weeks tagged Meningococcal conjugate which cost #11,000.

Please who has knowledge about this matter?

Since you have tried all these, don't you think seeing a paediatrician should be the next step? Or is there a reason you don't want to?

Hello mamas,
My baby uses molfix diapers. He has been using size 5 for sometime now. I buy the gigapack at a wholesalers shop close to my office for N4100 . It is sold for N4200 or N4300 in other supermarkets.
So last week, my hubby went to next cash and carry and bought molfix pampers for baby. When it was opened, I noticed it is different from the pampers we used to buy. It is same size 5, but the drawing on the pampers is different. I noticed this pampers is more absorbent than the normal molfix I used to buy. With the other pampers, I change his Pampers at least once at night. It must be changed by 3am, latest 4am or it will be full and start leaking , making me to change my boys cloth, but with this new molfix, my baby stays dry all through the night. I only change it in the morning.

Now my question is, does it mean molfix sells a lower standard of molfix to Nigerian market?

The first nothing much you can do, just up your hygiene

Biting or slapping is a no-no, sternly correct him when he does it (2 finger light smacking/eye contact while you say STOP firmly, please don't shout but be firm)

Or bite him back when he bites

Thanks for asking this question mama.
I was going to ask same question for 18 months immunization cos my hospital just told me yesterday that all immunizations after one year are optional and not covered for those using HMO.
We have IPV Booster, OPV Booster, DPT Booster and Hepatitis A on our schedule (card) for 18 months.

Sabi mamas should kindly enlighten us.

Are you talking about molfix or pampers? If is molfix please attach pictures of the diaper and pack too cos the one my son use always gets full easily.

My 11 months old daughter has been unnecessarily nagging and crying for no use reason since 3 days ago. Yesterday she was her normal lovely and playful self but today again she started crying over nothing and we couldn't understand what the nagging is all about.

Maybe she is bored.try taking her outside more often to get some fresh air.let her mix up with other kids.let her watch catoon.play with her more often read to her and sing to her .she is only a baby and has nothing to nag about.she is just trying to talk to you.you can get her more fun toys.i hope this helps

If u have a spare room, you can dedicate that room for his play.tty to keep it clean because at that age, there is little you can do about putting things in the mouth.wash his hands often.disinfect whatever he puts in his mouth.it can be tiring but that is the price we have to pay. I don't know about the othe4 question other Sabi mamas will chook mouth

Thank you ma

You may be right because she just came back from a long holiday where she has many people to play with unlike now that it only her and daddy and mummy. We equally noticed she always want to go out unlike before and anybody opening the door must be ready to take her out lol.

We are trying our and naturally her dad always get her engaged once he comes back from work and I always try my best too but a situation where she wake up in the middle of the night nagging is very strange.

We will continue trying our best and hope she forget the holiday period very soon lol.
