If you see how inland revenue service officials come to harass small shop owners to pay tax... I mean pepper sellers, small stationery sellers, plantain sellers, I mean small food in cooler sellers, they wickedly bill these struggling people tax of 70k some times they give them fixed tax of 10k per month....
this government rides on mass ignorance, it’s their greatest weapon... once u don’t know ur right, you can’t even get angry enuf to protest or fight back...
If those pepper sell are earning 10k profit minus capital a month would they be there selling pepper?

madam pay up! all those pictures of expensive trips to dubai, expensive cars, houses ,jewellery and dresses nko?

you were ringing dinner bells for the tax man, eko needs its share of the potty potty proceeds.

stop the drama and payup like the big girl you say you are.
An actress should pay up N38m as personal income tax? Some of you are not wise at all. How much is Buhari's personal income tax?

Madam, just relocate to Abeokuta or Ibadan. Ask your fellow actors and actresses in the industry. More than 85% of Nollywood (yoruba) actors live in Abeokuta and Ibadan.

This is what happens when you don't file your income to the taxman annually. They simply resort to stupid projection. You're making money, even if illegally, and you're not filing your income annually, this is going to be your fate one day.

File your income annually to avoid stupid assumptions and projections

if average Nigerian shop owner is paying tax,who is iyabo not to pay...it's obvious she hasn't been paying tax for years just like how Linda ikeja was taxed 100m
If I pay tax, I should see the dividends...

If my tax will enter another man's pocket, I will do my best to not pay!

Tax in Europe goes towards free but quality healthcare and education; roads and other infrastructure
What does tax in Lagos do for you?

Every news must turn to Yoruba vs Igbo e-war.
The woman complained of excessive taxation. Which other big companies also complain about..multiple taxes etc.......it's her right.
If you are paying such millions (which I seriously doubt) cool ...Then allow those over billed especially single moms working hard to raise their kids to say their bit.
In advanced countries such a woman will be given tax exemption and even given govt support to take care of her kids.. Kuku kee her o undecided lipsrsealed huh tongue

How much was she taxed last year and the year before? How much has She been paying since the inception of her business? She has probably been evading taxes and the government accumulated all the outstanding taxes she has been owing now she's wailing. Let's be honest with ourselves, a lot of businesses don't pay tax because there are no stiff penalties regarding taxes compared to developed countries.

Majority of businesses in Lagos are owned by Igbos..they pay tax and contribute to d economy of Lagos but are never being appreciated by afonjas instead all u will hear is that Lagos belongs to Yoruba's and that Igbo's should leave...don't worry one day Igbo's will have Biafra and leave this shithole for afonjas and their Fulani masters
Re: Iyabo Ojo Slammed With Tax Of N38 Million By Lagos Government by gr8child(m): 9:36am On Sep 13, 2019
You have to file tax returns whether you’re making profit or not. She should go and meet the tax authorities for a reconciliation. Crying on instagram won’t help anybody.

Hypocrite but when election is coming and you need to campaign for PDP, it will be Tinubu owns 97% of Lagos. Now that there is no election majority of the business in Lagos is owed by Igbos. This una life of self deceits and appraisal self

But you cannot pay the same tax in your region. You see your reasoning. Why is Ogun IGR more than the Whole South East States Combined? Why do you people reason through your anus? Majority where?

please don't compare USA with Lagos.... do u even know that American government tax their citizens far more than what Nigerian government tax...the tax that average American celebrities pay is far more than. income of Nigerian yeyebrities.. naija yeyebrities escape tax especially flaunting their wealth online...u don't try that in America without 6being taxed heavily
The some of you talk is laughable, American government don't impose tax based on what you flaunt online or offline. It's based on fact, it's easy to find out how much a person or a business makes as a profit. It's based on provable fact. Even issues like the cost of doing business are also deductibles.

Aunty Iyabo,

At this your level you should have business and personal accountant and tax consultant to keep your records and ensure you are not unduly exposed to tax liability.

I am an Accountant. I can really be of service ma'am.

When you use social media to present prosperity, what more do you expect ?

She should present her books and accounts, for examination.......

Lagos State government too, should open their accounts from 1999 - 2019 ...........
