Eiya. Well, SA government has demonstrated that they can't/are unwilling to secure the lives and property of foreigners in SA, therefore any Nigerian still insisting on remaining in SA in spite of recent xenophobic attacks is free to die there. RIP to them in advance. Something must kill a man, right?

ComeAndobo:
“ The attacks are perpetrated by youths who live in hostels. These hostels are in Hillbrow, Malvern, Orlando and almost all the provinces. They are homes provided by government to jobless people. Aside this, they are paid monthly. Those living in the homes are being used by some government officials to distort the country. They target foreign nationals because that is the only way to gain international attention. They launch attack any time they want money from government. By the time they get the money, the whole place will be calm."

The whole article is informative. But the above excerpt gets you thinking. Are politicians cursed? why are they the same everywhere? Why do they let their greed affect the countries they are sworn to protect?

you can say this rubbish because you're not in their shoes. Never pray to be in their position most especially those who have established themselves like that man who has stayed for 20yrs.

Have business and branches in 7 province on another man's land while your land is desolate. Nothing to fall on here, no single investment on your soil.
Shame!

Are you ok at all? I said they are free to remain in SA and even die there if they so wish. What is wrong with that? It's their choice. Those that value their lives more than their properties have also made theirs so no Biggie.

During Biafra civil war, Igbos moved back enmasse to Eastern Nigeria simply because their security wasn't guaranteed elsewhere in Nigeria and no one could fault that. In that instance they even left their properties behind because they valued their lives more. Since those remaining in SA feel Nigeria is still worse off for them in spite of being unwanted and threatened by xenophobic violence, then I repeat that they're free to die there.

We have very weak leaders in Nigeria. Very incompetent team of people parading themselves as leaders.
If you investigate this recent xenophobic attack very well Nigerian government may not unconnected to it.

Let me say this quite frankly, if anyone of these Nigerians should by misadventure get attacked tomorrow, I won't lose sleep or pray for him. You had the choice, you chose otherwise!
I understand everyone has right to make decisions, just like I chose to hang on in Nigeria, toiling to build my own empire, even amid the supposed turmoil. And I can say without mincing words that things aren't as worse as we present it in Nigeria. Just that it takes a deeper kind of insight and knowledge to see things differently and leverage on the scarce opportunity.

Why remain in a country where your life is not certain? No matter how much you have built over the years, it is incomparable to your life and safety.

If they kill you there, the South Africans will still take over everything you have built. There is no reason to believe that the South Africans will change.

Is it not far better to liquidate all your assets and return to naija? There is always no place like home.
From here, you can work towards your next move. Life is a never ending rollercoaster. Life goes on.

Correction. There are only group of criminals, murderers, rapist, demonic set of people that makeup the political class. They are politicians not leaders.

Tear drops in my eyes for Nigeria. With these set of leaders, there is no hope. Just look unto God and trust him to guide you through life successfully.

When Hitler came to power some Jews used the Haavara agreement to go to Israel, others stayed believing they have nothing to fear

People get attached easily

Just think about this comparison. A 200 million plus market to a 40 million plus market. If electricity is fixed in Nigeria, the country has the potential to create at least 1,000 millionaires per month.

America already has about 11 million millionaires.

Nigerians have just been mentally programmed to think and accept that nothing can work in their country. The same place, the white man, Chinese and other Asians come to make their fortune.

Thanks. My point. People can't think beyond what they have been programmed to accept. That Nigeria can never work for them.

I really feel for those that stayed behind, they made valid points, I just hope the government will act fast and put things in shape for others willing to return and invest in the country.

You cannot redeem South Africa by putting down Nigeria. Those of us that are Nigerians understand our strengths and flaws. South Africans need to do what is right to redeem their Nation in the eyes of the world relative to this particular problem of xenophobia. Let me suggest that the place to start is by coming to terms with the fact that South African mobs that turn on immigrants, destroy immigrants’ properties, businesses and lives are guilty of crimes against humanity. Secondly, that South African authority’s response to theses atrocities, which can only be termed national calamity, was at best inadequate but realistically facilitating since much of it sought to explain the actions of South African mobs rather than condemn, express contriteness and beg for understanding from the international community. South Africa is on trial here not Nigeria.

And to cap it up, we also have a misguided and gullible bunch of followers who live to support and worship these "leaders" excel at nothing but failures.
Aren't we doomed as a people? huh

Meanwhile, there is nothing for them to explain.
It is common knowledge that the Nigerian system is not working, which is the reason why even many Nigerians at home ate itching to escape from this hell to wherever they believe their fortunes will improve. Choosing to stay back is a hard choice they chose to make.
There's nothing for them to explain we already know..
