Matthew 26:63-68

62 The High Priest stood up and said to Jesus, “Have you no answer to give to this accusation against you?”

63 But Jesus kept quiet. Again the High Priest spoke to him, “In the name of the living God I now put you on oath: tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

64Jesus answered him, “So you say. But I tell all of you: from this time on you will see the Son of Man sitting on the right of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of heaven!”


65At this the High Priest tore his clothes and said[b], “Blasphemy! We don't need any more witnesses! You have just heard his blasphemy!

They answered, “He is guilty and must die.”


67Then they spat in his face and beat him; and those who slapped him

68said, “Prophesy for us, Messiah! Guess who hit you!”

Jesus Christ is God Almighty!!

Why did the High priest tear his shirt and Charged Jesus for blasphemy? Because Jesus told him he is God, otherwise why the charge of blasphemy?

Jesus sits at the right hand of Power and the High priest knew Jesus' Claim to be the Almighty

He was God, embodied in human flesh and walked on earth, most interesting and powerful of all, yet that decent enough not to display it all the time. He is modest, yet self assured not to, in His capacity as Jesus Christ, consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage. Rather, He made himself nothing, by taking the very nature of a servant, and being made in human likeness, being found in appearance as a man, humbled Himself, by becoming obedient to death, even that grisly death on the cross at Calvary etcetera
