The answer may look simple and ordinary but if you think deeply about this question, you will discover that the death of Jesus could be as a result of the following options:

(A) Jews

(B) The Chief Priests and Elders of the people

(C) Pontius Pilate

(D) The Soldiers

(E) Judas

(F). Jesus Christ

What's your Biblical option?

John 10:15

John 10:17

Jesus willingly laid down his life.

Jews could have said no but for the law of Moses that they followed blindly.

Pontius Pilate feared what would happen if he released Jesus Christ.

Chief priest and and elder of the people were following the law blindly.

The soldiers carried out the instructions of their commander to toture him and eventually nailed him to the cross.

Judas was deceived to betray Jesus Christ because of thirty shekels of silver.

Jesus Christ had the choice to set himself free but he kept mute like a gentle lamb ready for slaughter.

What manner of man is Jesus?

Why does it matter who killed him when Jesus Christ Himself did not demand an investigation or inquiry into His death, after His resurrection? undecided

Why focus energy on that which in the grand scheme of things doesn't really matter at all? undecided

Jesus Christ death and resurrection is the foundation of our faith, if Jesus did not resurrect, our faith would have been in vain.

1. His disciples had faith in Him long before He went to the cross and died. You claim the worth of your faith is found in His death and resurrection, and I ask how come the faith of the disciples before His death and His resurrection was not recorded as haven been in vain? undecided

By claiming nobody can come to God except through him
Thus leading people astray...

After God has given the 10 commandments.
"Thou shall have no other God before me"...

Meaning no intermediary or mediator..

Plus these:
Not to add to the Torah commandments or their oral explanations. (Deuteronomy 13:1)
Not to diminish any commandments from the Torah, in whole or in part. (Deuteronomy 13:1)
Jesus Christ did not add to nor diminish the Torah in any way or form - Matthew 5 vs 15 - 19. God made clear that YHWH was given only as a National Constitution in the Land of Canaan to the people of Israel - Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20 - and Jesus Christ never added, changed, or removed from that Law in any way of form. undecided

4 The Israelites left Mount Hor and traveled on the road that goes to the Red Sea. They did this to go around the country of Edom. But the people became impatient.
5 They began complaining against God and Moses. The people said, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt? We will die here in the desert! There is no bread and no water! And we hate this terrible food!”
6 So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people. The snakes bit the people, and many of the Israelites died.
7 The people came to Moses and said, “We know that we sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord. Ask him to take away these snakes.” So Moses prayed for them.
8 The Lord said to Moses, “Make a bronze snake and put it on a pole. If anyone is bitten by a snake, that person should look at the bronze snake on the pole. Then that person will not die.”
9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole. Then when a snake bit anyone, that person looked at the bronze snake on the pole and lived. - Numbers 21 vs 4 - 9
So, when Moses made and lifted up the bronze snake in the wilderness proclaiming that those of the people who looked upon it would be saved, you take it to mean that God in fact commanded Moses, against His own law, to make an idol which He then asked the people to worship it? undecided

Are you insinuating that the people didn't need to believe in that particular bronze snake that was lifted by Moses in order to be saved but in pretty much any snake around them in order to receive salvation from death at that time? undecided

We are comparing the two scenarios here right? If we consider that Jesus Christ was not the only "snake" that was lifted up on the cross on that particular day, it follows then that a belief in Him as the particular snake to save from death was necessary since not any snake would do, don't you think? undecided

1. To look at a particular object/subject — and not some other object in its vicinity — with expectation/mental accent that salvation is guaranteed by that act (of obedience) is not to be considered same as haboring belief attached to that particular object/subject? undecided

Exactly!
Jesus took the decision to die for us.
It was ordained that the son of man will
Sacrifice his life for mankind for remission of the sins of the whole world.

1. Jesus Christ said He did not sacrifice His life abeg! In John 10 vs 17 - 18, He explained that it is within His power to lay it down and pick it up again. How can that amount to a sacrifice abeg! undecided

The same Jesus Christ explained in another passage that God does not want sacrifices of animals and the lot, so why do you keep insisting His death was a sacrifice when He said God does not desire such? Are you accusing Jesus Christ of going against God or something? undecided
