I'm not Nigerian, but your questions seem to lack logic. You seem to not appreciate the fact that this man in question is/was not an ordinary Nigerian. HE WAS THE CHIEF JUSTICE. THE OVERLORD OF THE SUPREME COURT. THE CUSTODIAN OF NIGERIAN LAWS AND CONSTITUTION. He was THE FATHER of the legal system. He swore oaths, on many occasions, to protect Nigerian laws.
Even if it wasn't illegal for him to work for any foreign establishment, it's still wrong on so many levels, and the company knew it, and he knew that as well. Africans need to learn patriotism and stop blaming others for our woes. Not to sound harsh, this man needs to face the laws he has betrayed.

Yes as the former CJN, the SAN swore to protect Nigerian law as you rightly said. But come to think of it, don't you think that's is exactly what he did here? his action amount to protecting the Nigerian law which the Nigerian Government broke. The law is their to serve and protect all... not certain categories, the govt, President etc, but every body foreigners inclusive. But the case is that the Nigerian Govt which should be the custodian of the Nigerian law, which naturally be the chief protector of the Nigerian law went and broke the very Nigerian law and in the process infringe injuries on P&ID... it's totally unacceptable. The legal icon legally offer his services which were to protect the very Nigerian law broken by Federal Govt. Or do support what the Federal Govt did in this case.

So the question now beckons, how does he now face the law for being a legal consultant? Look for a fault and send efcc after him?

I agree he messed up but trying to pin him down may be the very first reason why he decided to do whatever or don't you think so? Once again the ignorance of this country abounds for all to see. The electoral tribunal has ruled on the Presidential elections. All you hear is Buhari wins, Atiku loses. You have heard no comments or debates on the institutions that ran the process. What went erong or right, what needs to be done to ensure this will be the last presidential election tribunal. In the midst of victories and defeats, no lessons are learned so mistakes are bound to be repeated and worsened when in a few weeks all will be forgotten.

Same here, all we hear about P&ID is Yaradua yesterday, Jonathan today, Belgore tomorrow. No one has thought out how this came about in the first place, the institutional failures and a thorough inquest into the processes so that lessons can be learned and such incidences avoided in the future.

So, blame, cane and jail the offenders all you like, if the system that brought that botched contract about is still in play like I strongly believe it is with the sordid contractual stories we heard in the first term of this government as exposed by Ibe Kachiukwu tjen we have not paid our last fine.

I have personally made mistakes all my life with people and processes that surround me. My attitude has always been this:
The day of the mistake or accident will be the worst. Every next minute after the mistake must be better starting with a right attitude. I simply donot mourn, buck pass or dilly-dally. I recompense immediately, analyse the error route and swiftly put measures in place to ensure it never repeats. The latter is what I spend my time doing.

What I see in government and amongst the vast majority of Nigerians in reaction to this incident is just typically ignorant, lazy and the very reason we often find ourselves at a loss, that is the curse of the black man's organisational defeciencies. His penchant for personalising everything which is just as terrible as his lust for feudalism.

How is it against his country? Those who didn't let the deal go through are the real problem. Misplaced priorities. Gas to power is one of the surest way for Nigeria to rise. Economic growth and development but no. Our leaders turned down the deal. Failed their own part of their agreement which would have helped Nigeria. The man did his job those in government are those who worked against Nigeria
