25-40k? You are funny. A good number of the firms around don't pay their lawyers a dime. Funny enough, the Secretary and other support staff get paid.
Most of the seniors feel they are doing you a favour by letting you stay. To them, you are acquiring experience.
Being a lawyer in Nigeria is a bad idea. The market is saturated. If conditions improve, I will bank on my LL.B to get study visa to saner climes, say Canada. That is if i really want to go into practice.

I can’t change back the hands of time but I can change the future....

this is it. The supply is nowhere near commensurate to demand.

Aside Lagos, Abuja, and to a small extent Port-Harcourt, the legal profession is hardly a necessity in other parts of the country, yet, hundreds to thousands of lawyers graduate every year.

I had B. Tech in Industrial Mathematics with no passion for it but for leaving the house with mindset to retake UTME or cross to Geology after 4 semesters which was successful, my name was amongst at the Senate meeting but was bleeped by my damn HOD Alao apari man. I just proceed to bag the initial degree and if I had the chance to start over at school, I would choose Geology or further into Data Science.

I practically decided to go through all the pages in this thread to see if I can find my course geology alas I did. bro I'm a fresh geology graduate, 2.1 currently doing my nysc but to be honest, I seem lost here in port Harcourt you'll tell them you did geology and they'll be like wow tell them to give you job you'll be hearing lemme see what I can do there is little or nothing for geology graduates without connections. I'm looking to go for HSE training to see if I can meet my destiny helper there. God help us all

I have a degree in Textile science and Technology from ABU Zaria and now I'm studying for my second degree. Bsc Economics from Bayero University Kano.

I read Industrial Physics
Yes I will provided I’ll do the degree in US or Canada

But if I’ll have to redo it in Nigeria
I’ll study Marketing or Business Administration
Thank God I did my masters in biz admin and didn’t succumb to my dad.

Science in Nigeria isn’t lucrative except You have connection to land you that first job or you prepared to be earning 100k for 6years without increments.

Still teaching engineering students FORTRAN instead of better programming language.

Hell No!! I wish i had stayed back home and kept writing Jamb then pick a better course relevant to the job market or a vocational course, but as at that time I had no mentor to advice me, except my parents who thought it didn't matter what I studied.
What has B.A Philosophy given me? To think the lecturers were hardcore sadists who ensured that students don't pass. Most importantly there are no job adverts looking for B.A Philosophy.

Yes and I will go all the way to PhD level in one straight move. No stopping.

The market is big with less competition especially on the last 2.

This business administration not really helping in Nigeria. tough to survive with your business in Nigeria.

Best is to do a service rendering business after getting all the skills needed ; not the theories gotten from school

Coz of the many triat of our institutions,specialize courses are few or non-existent in the humanities if you have ever experience what I mean. That M.BA wey people dey rush,I don't like it.

yea then in that case, you should have gone for HR or waited, and yes I know you will say it'd everywhere but that's the most popular course in the labour market right now. Employers are looking for HR personnel's.
Well its never too late, you can do another Masters or professional course in something practical this time around.

Calculation is a problem to so many people that's why they run from courses involving calculation

HR course? if it's certification I can go for it. Enough of all this conventional schools and courses,alas not in nija where neither the students or lecturer do research. Thanks anyway I appreciate.
