@ShinaLee The message you got from the alien office is almost the same as mine. I got a message from the embassy this morning that I do not need to resend but it was too late because I went to the courier earlier. I guess the workload in the big cities is much, did you use SL or BA?

These thread and posts have been really helpful, thank you to everyone here for the support. Straight to my point. I booked category B since July for an admission which is to commence this Spetember. I got a confirmation from the embassy saying it would contact me before resumption in approxiamtely 2-3 months, but got nothing.

The school asked if i had blocked, which truly i had done even without an appointment date(hoping the date would come in time).

Anyways, the school has given me an offer of extension till next year March, saying that if the embassy does reply me and give me a date, i should put in for March.

I already made the mistake of blocking before my appointment date is issued. My questions are:

Do i cancel my appointment and book a fresh one or leave the exisiting one in play?

What are the implications of blocking without an appointment in view?

Do i need to have any documents with me other than the blocking receipt and admission letter for my interview? ( if i am eventually given a date)

There are so many terms i do not understand on this page..such as VO, SL, AM etc. Can someone please break the terms down.

If you're going to a big city where they have lots of applications, it may take them time to process them all. Also September/October is the peak of winter period with thousands of foreign students resuming schools so the workload is much. Just calm down, If you're below the 6 week mark (i.e it's not up to 6 weeks after your interview) then don't worry. Find ways to keep busy and distract yourself instead of refreshing your mail every minute.
Here's a general advice to those awaiting AM on how not to go crazy while waiting:
- If you haven't, start doing research on your school and the city it's located. Connect with students in the school, you can find them here on Nairaland or on Facebook. Ask them questions and let them tell you about life in school, the city, student jobs, activities etc.
- Start searching for accommodation, Housing in Germany is a big issue, and if you're heading to a city like Munich it's way more difficult. if you don't get accommodation, then you need to plan where you'll stay till you get accommodation ( Tip: avoid hotels and use youth hostels, They're far cheaper).
- Start reviewing your course modules, education in Germany is not easy. Download your course modules on the school's website and start looking at the courses you'll take, get textbooks and materials and start reading. if possible, you can connect with a student doing the course and plead with them to send you materials. Start reading oooo.
- There's a shopping list on the Nigeria Students in Germany thread, you can use it to start packing and preparing your things.

May all those awaiting AMs receive their testimony in Jesus' name.
. Baba can I use my 1month berlin hostel accommodation booking confirmation for interview? Question number 2, can I send my unconditional admission letter or enrollment letter to my sponsor for SL? Question number 3, I got an Appointment date already and my program is Bachelor program with one year diploma but in the appointment form I choose bachelor studies is that a correct selection? I hope is not studienkollege?

Good you got an extension.
It's clear that it's best to fund your BA after you have been given a date by the consulate.
SL is Sponsorship Letter - this applies to you if you are using it. And its issued by the authorities in Germany to a legal resident (citizen or foreigner) who wants to sponsor someone to study in Germany. You going the BA way anyway.
V0- Thats Visa Officer. the person that will interview u on the date you are given
AM- Approval Mail. This comes to your email after a positive decision has been made on your visa application

Fom all i read, embassy might reset their system by end of this month. If u dont get a date before end of month, it might make sense to quickly cancel(if theres anything left in their system to cancel) and rebook first thing in October. Since u already have an extension till March which we can already call a summer admission in my opinion.
You will sure need to send your blocking confirmation to the embassy and of course have with you your admission letter and the document confirming you are allowed till march to enrol.
All are just my thoughts.

Stuttgart is one of top metropolitan cities to live in germany. Its home to headquarters of Porsche, Mercedes-Benz etcs.

It is the 2nd richest city to live in Baden wurttemburg. The 1st richest city to live in Baden wurttemburg and all of Germany infact is Wolfsburg.

Saying Stuttgart is a big city is an understatement. How you will survive in such a city as a student is beyond me. The standard of living in Baden wurttemburg is unparalleled to any of the other German states. Save for berlin

I don't see any complications about blocking before AD. You just need to keep pushing till you are thru and by that I mean trying to get an appointment date
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Pattilus007: 4:10pm On Sep 26, 2019
Thank you for your promt reply, once i get my AD, what do i need to take along to the embassy, other than my admission letter and blocking confirmation, do i need amymore documents?

Also, what do i prepare for, i mean composure, questions likely to be asked. I have been for an interview once with the American embassy and i pretty much failed woefully.

Any heads up?

For those of us who have received their visum....Congratulations!!! It was not easy. For those still trying to make up their BA or get SL... May God's abundance rain. For those still awaiting both AM and VISUM... it's not going to be an easy wait but be hopeful and never give up. For those still going for interview...wishing you all the best in your interview. For those still awaiting AD... Do not lose hope, for God is still in the business of working Miracles... Even if it doesn't come this winter, there's still summer to look to. For those still applying... Good luck... Prepare well and all will end in PRAISE.

Thank you everyone for your contribution one way or the other and in case you have a question which I can answer... Don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to respond on time.

All applicants to be screened will be expected to come with fully funded BA from November 1st.

There is therefore no implication from funding before interview. Intact it is more dangerous to not fund before an interview as is the case with cancelled AMs or delays in getting AM.

Guy just book on October 1st. So that you can get placement on time

There are many folk's interview transcripts here. So u can get to read up on all that. Ofcos there's a list of documents to take to interview too. Read that up on the consulate site. It has been pasted here too in time past but for sure the consulate site will always give u latest updates.
You have put in a lot. Catch up some reading.
