The Nicaraguan FA, Fenifut, have clarified the situation involving Juan Barrera and his vote for Lionel Messi in FIFA's The Best awards.

Barrera had claimed that he didn't vote in the awards despite FIFA's documents saying that he'd voted for Messi, the eventual winner.

Instead, it was vice-captain Manuel Rosas who voted for Messi and the Nicaraguan FA have blamed the mix-up as an "administrative error."

Rosas was chosen to vote in the awards by Henry Duarte, coach of the Nicaraguan national team, because he'd previously voted.

"Fenitfut would like to clarify that this whole situation was a misunderstanding," the Nicaraguan FA said in a statement.

Rosas voted for Messi first, then Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo in his top three for FIFA's Men's Player of the Year.

I don't know why people are disturbing themselves about this.


Ronaldo fans can go and die. Any time Ronaldo win, we don't hear noise and we won't read any article on how he doesn't deserve it.

But their obsession with Messi won't allow them to take it and wail tirelessly when Messi wins.

If no be say una craze, how Ronaldo go take win this year FIFA BEST? He was average last year (played Italian cup final, played 2 games in NATIONS LEAGUE and perform in 1 game, Won the SERIA A which Juventus would have still won)

I can say they are doing this so as to reduce the chance of Messi winning Ballon D'or in December.

Ronaldo even did promotion himself around June about these awards.
