This might sound very odd but it was saved many families from this same problem.

Let him pee on hot charcoal fire before going to bed at night.

He will feel very hot anytime he wants pee on himself this will prompt him to wake up automatically and that is the end of the story

I don't see why this is a problem tho...i bedwetted till I was around 15...when i hit 16..the thing just stop on its own..see there is nothing wrong with your brother. very soon he'll stop,it's different for everyone, be worried when he still bedwets at 18,as of now...just keep waking him up and stop making him feel like there is something wrong with him.

now try this it worked for me when i was younger .Let him stop taking water or food once it is 6pm for like 3 weeks (be very strict about it ) once the bladder gets stronger once it is full that burning sensation comes (the urge to pee) and he will wake up .Once the bladder is not strong once it is full the sensation does not come so it is what spills out of it that results to be wetting.I stopped bedwetting when i was 14 years old

Good day fellow nairalanders, i will try to keep this as short as possible.

I have a sixteen years old brother that is still bed-wetting. Dad and Mom has done everything humanly possible, but all their efforts ends in futility.... So many methods have been devised to just help him but non worked.

Initially we thought it was because of late dinner, he was stopped from eating when it is after 7pm

There was a time that dad use to whip him, but he stopped when he realized he's not getting any better.

We have bought some medicines, but it is still the same story.

Currently everyone is tired and no one is talking about it anymore... my parents believes that when he gets to uni he will change after a single inglorious display of this act.. He is currently in ss3.

what baffles me is that, my bro doesn't show any sign of remorse. He is always unapologetic and doesn't really give a damn...

Please nairalanders, is there anything else we aren't doing...?

Does he play a lot?

He should stop playing rough, that might cause it at times

Re: My 16 Year Old Brother Still Bed-wetting by Nobody: 8:54am On Sep 28, 2019
Hmm I don't know what to say..... But it's not normal..
If they have done everything possible including seeing a doctor then you need to apply new tactics.... From what you said he obviously sleeps like a log of wood... No offense...
I mean he is not sensitive to his environment.... Try sharpening his senses.... Try alarms...give him work that requires agility and speed... And always wake him up at intervals in the night no matter how tired.....
Or try this.. get a doctor to prescribe a traditional herb he hates... Tell him that he will drink the herb every morning and night until he stops bedwetting- tell him it's medicinal not as a form of punishment......
I have seen drunkards pee on themselves and I have come to a conclusion that it has to do with the sensitivity of the individual

Shibaraba piss be unto u, lol. When someone piss almost every 5 minutes interval, then he must definitely have a kidney problem or hormonal imbalance. The type of food one takes also matters. Heavy foods like fufu should not be taken as lunch or the last meal for the day.

The natural solution is just for you people to devote a particular time at nights to wake him up to pee. If you do this regularly for one month keeping to the same time, you will see that he will get used to waking up by himself that same time to pee.

taa!
I still bedwet whenever I drink too much water before sleeping and there is cold due to fan, ac or rain/open windows.

Take care of the problem, it's not spiritual or about age!
It's scientific.

Tell him to stop drinking lots of water from 6pm,
Make sure he sleeps with full thick clothes,
Make sure he's room is never cold, (
Turn off the fan and close the windows)

Good luck
love this method bro, daughter is 10and still brewets ,fear of letting her go disgrace my ministry has made be handicapped about allowing her go visiting o, it can be so so demeaning. Had to always stay awake to watch her, and that's if I am up early praying, but any day I mistakenly didn't wake up to pray, gimme rivers of living waters would have filled the bedroom. But thanks for this points, gonna try them out

I have a cousin like that too, all through his secondary school he was a bedwetter, during that period he felt it was his right to be bed-wetting. There is nothing that we did not do then.
When he gained admission into the university and he started seeing small small girls, no be person tell am to buckle up.
As per your brother he will stop once he have a girlfriend.
Re: My 16 Year Old Brother Still Bed-wetting by Godsonkemz(m): 9:10am On Sep 28, 2019
Your brother is being possessed by demonic forces that want to get him humiliated. He may be seeing himself in the dream urinating properly without realising that he's already urinating in the bed. He needs to go for a deliverance. Anoint him with an anointed oil every night before going to bed. Engage in an aggressive midnight prayers joining hands together with your brother and father, breaking every curses and bondage. He will be set free. It's not every matter we settle with muscle or human understanding. Also he should reduce the amount of water he takes at night and avoid late night food.

The easiest way is set alarm every 2hrs and make sure someone will wake him up and follow and if he bedwet again make sure he wash, clean and carry the bed outside to dry it
P.S he will stop

Get a good alarm clock to wake him at certain hours.
Try to wake up same time the alarm rings and ask him to go take a pee.
No water or fluid intake from 6pm
Remind him to per before going to bed no matter how sleepy he feels

Don't allow him get to the uni and disgrace himself.
You said he isn't remorseful? He maybe dying in shame and remorse, but he's not showing it. He's probably repressing his feelings. That young man is most likely depressed, he's just trying not to show it by playing everything cool. Help him! Things like this can make one suicidal.

My suggestions To Help him:
1) Assure him of your love and support. Don't guilt trip him.

2) build his self esteem. He's fighting more demons than meets your eyes.

3) eliminate dinner after 5pm. Yes 5pm.

4) no drinking of liquid once it's past 6pm, no matter how thirsty he is.

5) don't give him heavy food like akpu or garri and soup at night. Intact if possible, eliminate swallow from his diet now.

6) train his bladder muscles; during the day, when he's pressed, he should hold the urine for an hour or more before urinating. He should do this repeatedly. Please do this it's important.
7) buy him an alarm clock. For now, sleep in the same room with room and wake him when the alarm rings. Set it at 1 hour interval. Do this until he learns to wake himself when the alarm rings.

8.) commend him when you see progress

Do all these and he's sure to overcome this phase.
All the best.

Your dad thought he enjoyed bed wetting. My mum was disgracing me in the presence of visitors before I turned 14,when she realised it was getting out of the ordinary she stopped and started feeling my shame and worried. This a depressing period for your brother and you all should show him love with prayers.

It affected me in several ways.I never stopped blaming God for abandoning me,stopped going to church when I was 14 and finally stopped believing his existence by 16.And couldn't further my education because of the shame.

The people I lived with after leaving home acknowledged I had a problem and never treated me like an outcast. They helped in finally finding a trado cure for me when I was 22.

My son is going through same problem and I can't find a solution to it.But I have not stopped letting him know I understand what he is going through.

I don't know if it is hereditary or bewitchment but it is not something I wish for any kid.

He will stop...what you guys need is to be patient with him...time is all it takes
He will outgrow it ..it is just taking longer.
There are lots of factors that could cause him to still be bedwetting at that age but hope is not lost

I believe in the next two years maximum he will stop.

More of psychological. i did till I was 17years thou by then the frequency had reduced.
see me now, last bed wetting episode is over 13 years now. just ensure the psychological stressor is dealt with.
Glory to God, I am a licensed medical doctor today.
Other things he can do.
avoid drinking water after dinner.
ensure using the toilet immediately he starts feeling sleepy.
Have a wake up and urinate alarm via any of the smart devices say at 2 am.
God be with him.

Just be patient with the guy, my friend didn't stop betwetting until after he finished his SS3 and was looking for admission, After so many drink this, don't drink that, no water after 7 and even drugs, just turning urself to his alarm clock and getting him one will go a long way. From his experience, it's not intentional, and it made him depressed and alienated from us for a long time, u know, for fear of stigma. So be patient, wake him up as many times as possible to pee during d night, and if he pees himself, make him clean up b4 everyone gets up, and most importantly, be patient.
