Statement From P&ID Following Tolhe Sham Trial In Abuja by vivalavida(op): 3:47pm On Sep 29, 2019
Today’s sham trial in Nigeria is entirely illegitimate, and follows a systematic campaign of harassment, intimidation and illegal detention of a number of individuals associated with P&ID or the GSPA contract. The individuals detained have not been afforded due process and have instead been pressured and intimidated by the government into making false statements.

“Nigeria’s Attorney General Abubakar Malami has publicly acknowledged that his aim is to provoke global opposition against P&ID, by undertaking this EFCC ‘investigation’.

“None of the individuals involved are current employees or representatives of P&ID. P&ID itself has received no communication from any Nigerian authority about the investigation or today’s hearing. There has been no evidence produced, no defence allowed, no charges laid, no due process followed.

“The EFCC’s investigation is an attempt to produce false evidence, and is being conducted in blatant disregard of basic human rights and the rule of law. P&ID calls on the Government of Nigeria to accept its responsibilities under the law and to cease this sham investigation.”

All attempts by the Nigerian government under the Buhari-led APC presidency to use backdoor against PID will continue to lead to further embarrassment as they've long bungled this case because of political vendetta.

Nigeria stands to suffer this monumental economic sabotage because part of the culpable persons are deeply connected to the present govt e.g.the then GMD of NNPC when late Rilwan Lukman the then petroleum minister signed the contract.

Sounds like you'd rather support these yahoos trying to swindle Nigeria out of about $10b.

Well, we Nigerians are not that dumb. We need our money to fix our schools, fix our roads and clean up dirty Aba!

Problem is that politicians and civil servants will steal the money anyway, and none of it will go for the people's welfare. We need to change the SYSTEMS in this third world sh*thole.

And Restructure it into two different countries: Southern Nigeria & Arewa.

It shows how ignorant some Nigerians are. Even if Nigeria is to pay 100 bllion dollars, it does not affect the allowances and salaries of our leaders. It the cost of living that will increase and the standard of living that will fall for the poor man. So an average Nigerian that supports P&ID or restricts itself only to blaming Buhari for the fiasco is just like a parasite supporting locust to attack it's own host.

Remember when Nigeria levied MTN with that heavy penalty,we were rejoicing. They must pay, they must pay.
Now it's our turn.i can only imagine how MTN will be laughing at the federal government of Nigeria.

We reduced it from what the previous government were stealing. If we hadn't you'd be walking about naked by now because they'd have stolen the shirt off your back.

My own Nigeria is not a shithole. Consider cleaning up your neighborhood so it isn't a shithole too.
