Prettiepearlz:

Hence the reason he should back his application up with a letter of explanation from the onset, if he sees that it’s going to cause an issue, he should get his ppa to write a letter including the three weeks compulsory leave. Then he can back it up with an explanation should they request for his discharge certificate.

This is the very reason I decided to make a comment regarding this.

The OP was concerned about the 11 months stuff and asked questions but was told he could go ahead.

The only point I want to correct is that May 23rd to April 23rd isn't 1 year but 11 months. He needs to add some other information like you suggested above to avoid stories that touch.

NB: It's generally said that you use dates on your NYSC certificate for your reference...... His case just made me realise some certificates have just 11 months.

I would suggest that those with less than 12 months on their certificates do not just stick to the 11 months without further explanations.

I'm afraid May 23rd to April 23rd is 11 months not 1 year. A child born May 23rd turns 1 year May 23rd not April 23rd.

I'm aware several people have used NYSC successfully but it's good we know the dates on their certificates and that on their letter. I doubt they used 11 months and scaled through.

This is hilarious. May 23rd to April 23rd is 1 year . Jan-Dec is 1 yr not Jan-Jan. This debate is tiring already

Allowee Statement of accounts usually shows only 11 months payment because 1 month is usually paid in camp unless things have changed. So I doubt your SOA will proof the 12 months salary.

I thought your reference letter is supposed to indicate 12 months work but wetin I sabi self..

Good luck using May 23rd to April 23rd as 1 year.

If he goes ahead and claims different dates, what if his NYSC certificate is later requested for by the VO for any reason. I remember a lady from this thread was told to come to Accra with her NYSC certificate.

Since he said he worked with his PPA beyond NYSC, that could be the buffer. I'll advise that he prepares his letter carefully.

Edited: Below is VO requesting original NYSC certificate.

Let's be careful when packaging our applications ooo.

Good evening house, please I need answers to some questions.

1. As per declaring side hussle, do I need to upload the bank statement for the corporate account of my side business?

2. Do I also need to declare side hussle for spouse.

3. In uploading all bank statement, does it mean all of my bank accounts or just the one that contains my POF.

@ ladymarshall @ everybody.

Thank you

NYSC certificate could be requested by the VO.
No one is saying he shouldn't go ahead. He just needs to be careful

Find below.

Do you have the link to the person( or name) that was told to bring his discharge certificate to Accra? What was written in that picture you posted was NYC and not NYSC.

WARNING ⚠ A Very long post ahead, I promised to be very detailed when I submit my script cos other people might learn from it. ⚠

Despite my unfaithfulness, my God is ever faithful!!!. I still can’t believe if this is real my goodness!!!

Timeline in 2019
ECA 14th Jan
Profile submitted 17th Jan
ITA 23rd Jan
AOR 8th Feb
MEP & BIL 22nd March
Biometrics completed 25th March
ADR 11th May (Education Certificates)
PPR 16th May
VO Ottawa
NOC 1111

Journey started August last year, my ex and I broke up 2 months before and I remember seeing one Canadian agent’s cArd in his wallet. I sha snapped it and never bothered about it. He wanted to go to Estonia as he was into IT and hoped to get shengien visa. I did my research on Nairaland too and sent him the link, we both read. My dumb ass really wanted to go with him as per the “LOML” when I knew fully well Estonia was never in my bucket list after the breakup I realized I wanted Canada or Australia instead of the Estonia I was researching on. I carried myself to Nairaland and read the express entry thread for both countries and concluded Canada was easier and left Australia. I called the agency guys and went to their office, I paid 10k and captioned it “Mumu Money” they asked why I did that I said I’m scared if it would worth it. Long and short, all what they told me was what I already knew with the exception of the fact that if I had National Diploma it would earn me extra points (I didn’t know this before that day). I figured it wasn’t a waste afterall as I had gained some confidence in what I already knew And Nairaland wasn’t selling crap to me.

My cousin in the US suggest I come to there as that’s where the money is and leave Canada. I was stucked in a limbo as to whether to chose US and go on a student visa or go for Canada as PR. Canada far outweighed US as this Trump ish was becoming a pain in the ass.

Sometimes in September 2018 or there about another bobo waka come that wan said it was Australia he was going to that he preferred it cos of distance and he won’t have to look back to naija again. Omo na so I borrow myself brain sharp sharp I told him I’m not doing oh before another boy comman ruin my career for me

WES account created on 27 July 2018, paid August 1 and this was before the WAEC saga but somehow they managed to drag me back to be among those that must verify WAEC. ECA was the longest wait time! Took over 5 months to get it all sorted. My friend in ilorin helping me had exams to write so he couldn’t give it his 100% time, I can’t blame him. asked him to tip the guys in school. Total cost for ECA was N140,285 started 1 August 2018 ready 14 January 2019. I used nipost to send my certificate and AAT Transcript(sent separately it was 4k, the lady use scope to corner my change), my Bsc was delivered but my AAT wasn’t I found out after 2 months wait and sent again with UPS, paid N14,500. Waec cost 10k and paid 9k for courier through UPS. I got the UPS woman’s number begged her to let me include my ATS transcript(which was ready in less than 3 days) alongside my WAEC transcript. She no gree, I tipped her 2k and she was extra nice. I had two or more certificates (BSC and AAT)

IELTS
So I wrote twice both were MOD
First one was for AUG 18 LRWS - 8, 8, 7.5, 6.5
Second was Oct 27 LRWS - 8, 8, 7.5, 7
My first IELTS experience, I prepared for a month and used mostly Jay’s video from E2 language , I didn’t like Liz then Cos I thought she smiled too much and I couldn’t concentrate but laugh at her smiling face

After them nack my 6.5 I paid 46k for remark but “Result remained unchanged” ewww my chest ahh. I wanted to register for another one in that same September but it was too short and I didn’t want to take chances. I registered for October 27 immediately before I left their office. My lazy a$$ didn’t read until 20th of October, reality hit me that I can’t fail this time o. I was to resume a new job, I begged for a month grace and my one month was spent enjoying life and restructuring my new house. I started reading and I visited the ielts thread and saw most people recommended Liz paid video! I mentioned codedplace taya to send me link he say send mail. That was how I left him and resulted to LIZ videos on YouTube, I subscribed for IELTS advantage by Chris Pell. It’s a 5 days course but I took it in 2 days as my exam was already in 3 days time. I went back to the ielts thread the night before my exam and check codedplace profile, his old posts found out he had previously dropped the link. Naso I open am, saw 3 videos of 1 hr plus each. Grim!! My goodness! It’s past 10pm already and I need to sleep. I downloaded the 3 videos and turned off my internet to avoid visiting WhatsApp and Twitter every minute. I was stucked with Liz smiling face for another 3 hours , Took my earpiece and watched the videos till 1am and I slept. I must say, those videos really helped me. I took less water as I went into the exam hall for my paper. The fact that I had to pee in my first attempt and spent 15 minutes been restless before I was allowed to go out was part of what accounted for my poor performance the first time, so I didn’t let it happen again.(lesson, reduce water intake before going to the hall) Result turned out as expected. Glory be to God.

PCC inspector moshood was 4k. I think this was the easiest of all.

Medicals was IOM on 30th January paid 41,400. I had earlier called Qlife to book appointment but they told me the earliest available period was April kilode! Na medicals I wan do, I no kill person. I used google and landed on IOM website. I called to book an appointment then I was asked to send my email. I was booked for the following Wednesday (30th Jan)

POF I uploaded 6 months statement of account with savings.

Work experience
Letter in CIC format, 3 months pay slip and 4 months account statement. I didn’t highlight my salary. I had no idea that was a thing as at then.

Called twice to enquire about VO and if eligibility has started. The last call was 9th of May and was told Eligibility has not been completed. I asked if it was started she responded again “Eligibility has not been completed” if it’s me that don’t understand English or it’s she, I ended the call and swore not to call back till 6 months is passed.

ADR May 11th was for copy of Education degrees. This is when I would say God stood for me. When. I got request letter I jumped out of joy that PPR was here alas it was ADR goosh! I wan slap person. I just said to myself seems this CIC people just want to see my finesse certificates again but unknown to me the fault was from me. I uploaded my passport and captioned it EDUCATION + ECA when I submitted my application. This I only found out when I was to upload the new one, I opened the old one with the intention of seeing what I did wrong to correct it this second grace period. Lo and behold I found my passport all pages inside!!! I uploaded Degrees, IELTS And use Ilovepdf to join my ECA with it. (Lesson here, always double check before uploading)

May 17 about 3am, I found myself awake. I said to myself lemme pray. I checked my work mail like 5 times already and didn’t check my personal mail. I went to IG and spent almost an hr. I wanted to sleep back, and I was feeling guilty that I didn’t even pray, I hope Social media would not be the end of me. I hoped to check my mail before saying a 2 minutes prayer and closing my eyes. ...It was there, the long awaited email has been waiting for me since 11.35pm on 16th May.

Right now I don’t have a passport Cos my dog ate it, and no! I wasn’t careless. The dog picked it from my opened bag on the floor in my room. (lesson here, be extra careful with your documents) and the new one isn’t ready yet but it should be out before 15 days I have to submit my passport for VISA.

On first of May, I made a declaration that my good news was coming this month. It finally came. It has ended in praise! Glory be to God! Thank you Jesus! Alhamdullah for everything!!!

PS I’ve been a very active nairaland user since 2011 but I had to create this dummy profile so that my village people will not trace me on my main account. God bless you all, God bless Seun Osewa for this wonderful platform. God bless God for been God.

Please send me the ielts videos to charleslon2002@yahoo.com. Thanks and God bless

But you saw 8-10 roles before that now. Actually there’s no minimum number of roles, you can use just 3 roles in your NOC first, and when the VO refuses you for insufficient number of duties performed in your NOC, you can then increase it smiley

We used to have a NOC guru here @newmum and that was her advice for number of duties. I wouldn’t advice anything below 5 tho if you are sure all 5 duties fit the NOC perfectly. But you can do as you please, it’s your application smiley

Na wa o! We can argue sha!! A Discuss Both Views and Give Your Opinion Essay taking almost two pages from us. Abi we wan collect extra sheet? See what IELTS and EE have turned us into. Obliviously chasing us everywhere.. Lol

Pls let's put this to rest. The months stated altogether is an equivalent of 11months. If anyone is in doubt, kindly use the the formula;
Apr 23 to May 23 (or 22/24) = 1month
and see what that would arrive at.
In my own opinion, an LOE should solve the problem of the missing 1month. Definitely, he/she got paid in that 12th month which usually is a terminal leave and as such, bank statement for that month should suffice. Moreso, NYSC is not new to these VOs (or vice-versa). All they need is document(s) to prove beyond any reasonable doubt, just the same way IELTS requires one armed to the teeth with Synonyms.
And for the 1st month that he/she got paid by cash (in camp), it should be stated in the LOE as well, alongside the call-up letter and relevant documents indicating the NYSC start date..

Ehn?.. The argument got to me so tey I got confused, me and wifey had to start rummaging through our things in search of our discharge certificates!!! Ó ti tó o.. e jọ̀ọ́.

Dear Seniors lol. I have a quick question please.

At the start of my career, I started of as a management trainee where I basically did 3/4 different rotations in various departments - HR, business development, strategy and then Brand Management.

The longest and the last was the brand management rotation.

I’m thinking of claiming NOC 1124 because that’s the current field I’ve been working in.

Any thoughts?

For perspective:

Mgt trainee: Oct 12 2015 - Oct 31 2016
Job 1 (NOC 1124): Nov 2016 - June 2017
Job 2 (NOC 1124): July 2017 - Jan 2018
Job 3 (NOC 1124): Jan 2018 till date

Will I have any challenges?

Please, I'm still waiting for response on this. I'm appealing.

Good afternoon great people,

Please I need expert advice on behalf of someone.

He has two birth dates which are reduced date and original date.

He has chosen his original date as his date for over the years which he uses for all applications and forms even before his CA runs.

His international passport has his original date also.

His original date is captured on his WAEC result while his reduced age was used throughout his University days.

Now he has requested for his official transcript and not sure that it will reflect his reduced age.

He got an affirmation that his birth date wont be reflected on his transcript.

Now he wants to know if he still needs a declaration of age to guide against and trouble that may arise in any case.

This is because he doesnt know if WES gets into such details.

I'll really appreciate responses from my seniors.

Thanks.

Pre ITA
Decision to Migrate

I’ve known about this express entry since 2015 when I was rounding up my masters but I had been away from Naija for so long and in retrospect I would say I was just home sick plus as a naija patriot who believes in his country and the opportunities abound here, coming back home wasn’t a bad idea. Fast forward to July 2018, I had been in the country for about over 2 years and then I was getting really tired of everything; job was a modern-day slavery and things were not looking like they would get better soon. Then one of my friends that had been disturbing me to apply for either Canada or Australia got PPR, it was like a wakeup call to give this a try, plus after he explained everything to me, I told myself the whole idea of dual citizenship wouldn’t hurt naw.

IELTS
This was the first major hurdle to cross. But still I was like is it not just English? las las I’ll be fine. This was around the period I discovered this thread then in part 5 and after going through a couple of pages, I realised that if care is not taken, this exam will fall person hand. Took it more seriously since I didn’t have 75k to waste, prepared for it and went in for the first one with BC, results came out and reading was 6.5. I was smiling when I say the result, I was so sure there was a mistake since reading was the part I had the most confidence in, I mean I finished it 20 minutes to time and even went through it again before submitting. Over confidence and agidy made me sharply apply for a remark and after waiting for a month the result came out unchanged. It was like they poured cold water on my body; in a way I would say it gave me the closure I was looking for. I immediately registered for the next available exam though this time with MOD as most people here claimed their marking was better. I barely prepared for the second one but funny enough when I came out of the exam hall, I was more confident than the first. Result came out successful LRWS 8.0,8.0,8.5,7.5 and CRS was 453, jumped into the pool naked and got ITA in 5 days. See my previous post on pointers to ace this exam here.

ECA
Used WES for my credential evaluation, it was pretty straight forward as I had a foreign masters hence didn’t go through the whole WAEC route. Evaluation was completed in like 5 weeks.

POST ITA
PCC

The plan was to submit as soon as I get the ITA but my North Cyprus PCC wasn’t having none of that. Something that I had been chasing since October was still holding me back in February. By day 58 with no North Cyprus PCC in sight, I had two options, either decline the ITA, go back into the pool or submit without the PCC. After asking for advice here, I resolved to decline the ITA but I just couldn’t see myself doing it. Instead, I submitted it like that with an LOE explain that I had started the process and was waiting for it. For more on how to get a PCC from North Cyprus or submitting an incomplete application, click here and here respectively.
Also needed to get Naija and UK PCC which on the other hand was a breeze, read my previous post here on the process for the Naija PCC

Medicals
I did an upfront medical with qlife way before I got my ITA which was very straightforward. A lot has been said about the process and I don’t even know if things are still the same since then.

POF
This was another tricky bit, I used 100% gift deed from my dad which I put into Stanbic mutual funds and used the certificate. In total my gift deed was made up of this certificate, a month statement from both my dad and me showing the transfer from his and when it reflected in my account, the gift deed letter, and an oanda converter for the pof sum. I would advice you give like a 100 – 200k buffer just incase, you never can tell.

Work Experience
I claimed just one-year experience as it was enough to get me ITA and since I didn’t want to start getting letters from two employers. I also wanted to be as discrete about it as possible so I couldn’t tell my HR what the letter was for or who to address it to. I just told her I needed a reference letter in the format IRCC requested for a visa I was applying for. The letter was addressed to whom it may concern and she asked that I write it which I happily obliged, she added some things and printed in the company’s letterhead.
Since I company doesn’t have any website, I added my offer letter, one-year statement of account highlighting the inflow of my salary monthly, six months payslip and scanned copy of my staff ID card.

Post AOR
This was when the real wait started. I submitted my application without a PCC so I had to make sure that before completeness check was conducted, I had raised a CSE to upload the remaining PCC. I was lucky enough to meet this deadline then the wait continued. AOR was February 16th and Biometrics was around early April and I was thinking that kpata kpata before the end of June I would have gotten PPR. If only I knew. To be honest this period can be very challenging especially for someone that intends to travel immediately you get PPR as you can’t make any concrete plans. I didn’t pay for the RPRF when submitting as I wanted to see the request as a sign my application had been approved.

On July 3rd after waiting for almost 5 months by body couldn’t take it any longer, I paid and raised a CSE to upload the receipt. July 10th I got a ghost update and ADR instructing me to pay for RPRF and upload my North Cyprus PCC. These were things I had already done but I didn’t want to argue with IRCC, me that was happy someone had touched my application, then it didn’t matter what they were asking for, Even if they asked me to swear affidavit that my birth certificate was original I would have done it without complain. Anyways, I uploaded both documents and submitted immediately. After like 2 days I got another ghost update, called IRCC and was told eligibility had been passed. Come and see the joy, was certain PPR would land in like a week. One week passed then the second, then a month, yet nothing. At some point I got tired of calling IRCC, work became very busy I didn’t pay too much attention on the stuff though I kept checking it everyday oo. I cannot come and miss ghost update. Fast forward to September 9th, got a ghost update early in the morning and I knew the end was close. But out of curiosity I called IRCC that afternoon and was told “Congratulations, Your application had been approved the previous night”. Brethren, the joy that came over me that day knew no bounds. I was certain it would drop that night. Got home by 10pm and checked my mail, PPR was seating comfortably like a boss, At that point what I felt was more of relieve, I had waited 6 months and 3 weeks for this and I was just thankful that it finally came. Submitted passport at vfs the following day being 10th which coincidentally was my birthday. It was the best birthday present I received in a while.

To all those at different stages of this process, the truth is it’s not easy but please don’t lose sight of the end goal. I read every page in part 5, 6 and 7. By part 8 I couldn’t keep up any longer as I had already submitted. I learnt all I know about this process from this thread by reading the famous page one and asking questions when I needed clarification. I met a lot of helpful people here and I can remember how motivated I felt reading PPR gist. I told myself that I would also give back to this thread when I got mine. Sorry it’s coming a bit late but I just couldn’t type anything till it came. Thank you all and I pray you all get it.
Bro I don't hear from you? Please send me your mail

Good evening everyone, been a silent member as I have been trying to read a lot of your comments and suggestions.

Pls I will like to seek advise, I just got the SINP ITA but my relative there just informed me that he has moved out. What do I do? Do I go ahead and still submit without a relative? Or do I look for someone else with same surname as me? (Thinking out loud, Lol)

Pls advise
