Many of you are just commenting without reasoning. Minimum wage of 30k isn't the issue but rather increase percentage for those already earning above 30k as it appears that is the real deal. Employees on level 6 aren't much as such but from 7 upwards the percentage increase appears unaffordable for FG and here is where the tussle is.

First sensible comment I can see. From the post, we have
” Organized labour has out of its patriotic disposition demonstrated a great deal of restraint, consideration and patience with government. In the course of negotiations for consequential salary adjustment, organized labour had to moderate its initial position of having 66.6% upward salary adjustment for workers on salary grade level 07-17 by accepting an upward adjustment of 29% for officers on salary level 07-14 and 24% adjustment for officers on salary grade level 15 – 17.
So labour do not know that the purpose of fighting for minimum wage is solely for those that are less paid and not those who are well paid. Most importantly is the percentage rate of increasing those that are well pay must be determined by the ability of the employer to paid. Seriously, the initial and new rate proposed by the Labour is totally uncalled for, so somebody already N500k should now be earning N620k. And the same Labour know fully well that over 60% of the current national budget goes to salaries and allowance of their members. They want capital development and security, reduction of taxes but want the budget of salaries and wages to be close to 75% of the total budget.

Why was there no tussle in 2000 and 2011 when Obasanjo and Jonathan increased minimum wage
What makes a person justify the oppression that he is shuffering from with smiles?

I guess this was the reason Keyamo was moved to Labour ministry. The government is prepared for the looming crisis.

It is very very unfortunate that Nigerian workers are still demanding for their N30,000 minimum wage(N1,000 per day) for many months now while our politicians swim in millions of naira. Let somebody remember that there is God in heaven and he will judge everyone accordingly.

But I thought they have started paying tthis money . Even some state govt inclusive . Who is deceiving who?
workers on level 1-6 have been taken care of,the problem is with the workers from level 7-17i.e management level, government should just up their offer to something between 15-20%,I think labour would reason with that, but this is buhari/Apc ,the all knowing gang, imagine they never did their homework very well taking this consequential adjustment in to consideration before buhari rush to decieve the public with his announcement just to deceptively look good to you is,my own is, anything good from buhari is actually a rude suprise n if nothing good comes from him it's no suprise.i will never be disappointed by buhari because I never had any trust in him knowing who he has always been n will continue to be.

that is additional N11,000 on every N100,000. So people who are earning N500k will now earn N555,000. And some of this civil servant earned close to N1m monthly salary.
