hedging a trade is like pressing the PAUSE button. It is almost same as cutting the trade only that you really do not have to cut anything.

The hedge can be resolved at any support/resistance level of choice.

Hedge is like, I don't want to deal with this loss right now, I'm just going to hedge it... I'm going to deal with it later.
Of course, it's not going to go away, it's still there waiting for you.

So hedging can be profitable and some folks out there use hedge as sort of trade management.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it, you will still have to accept loss, because you can hedge and the trade goes fine, BRAVO... you can hedge and it get even WORSE.

NOTE : Once you know how to draw TRUE support/resistance levels, you can resolve any hedge without breaking sweat. Support/Resistance levels are DECISION points. Price will either break or bounce at these points. So you can always remove one side and allow the other correct until the next decision point where you can hedge again.

Example; The way you said the Emphatically yes, your USDJPY trade should go according to your buy plan, but no, they didn't obey the line you drew, twice, your usdjpy call.
