Maybe Ademola is some consolation, but definitely not Saka. Saka is more naturally gifted than both Fikayo and Tammy. If we get Saka, England would be sad that they went for the wrong guys in Tammy and Fikayo.

Good time to snatch Saka.

No player is undecided, you play for the country you want or settle for less
He was undecided. He most likely would've made the switch if things didn't change like Tbaba1234 said.

Hyped Dele Alli has scored 53 league goals for Spuds as a CM at 23 years of age. Hyped or not - that is a big deal.

This is not true. Dele was never and I don't think has ever played CM. He started out as a Winger for Spurs before being converted to an AM as time went on. At those two positions, you will get to goal scoring position and score. So it's not a big deal considering his playing position

Are you telling me as a 20 year old professional you don't know what country you want to play for?

Don't deceive yourself, those who consider Nigeria are because they are no position to choose, Sheyi Ojo, Akpom etc

Nobody said once you're born abroad you are not Nigerian but if you have two passports you have to choose where your loyalty lies

Abraham has made his choice and is fully English, Iwobi has made his choice and is fully Nigerian, you can be fully citizens of both countries as Komekn was insinuating

You can't be a full citizen of two countries. You will always be loyal to one than the other, no matter what. Why do you think a lot of countries have constitution against people with dual citizenship holding some certain key and sensitive position.

Although, the context here is football. But on technical grounds, you can't be a full citizen of two countries at the same time because of loyalty and division of interest.

From the writeup I read, some people made such insinuations.

What i'm implying is that upbringing helps in making those kids raised abroad have stronger connection with their roots. Some of these kids don't feel like Nigerians and doesn't want to be associated with the country eg Dele Ali, Barkley etc. So they dont even have that option. How are u sure they have Nigerian passport to start with?

That someone represents a foreign country doesn't make him less Nigerian. It has to do with the mindset. I used Antony Joshua as an example.
I ones watched a tv documentary of Serge Gnabry discuss about his Ivorian root and how he supports local kids in his little way.

Yeah but according to Komekn those like Tammy Abraham, Dele Alli must be forced to be 'fully Nigerian' even if they don't want anything to do with Nigeria

@the bolded is debatable. Shebi u know that technically , those People are now less Nigerian.

In the sense that in the Nigerian constitution, one of your rights as a citizen is the right to vote and be voted for. As a dual nationality person, you might still vote but you can't be voted for because of your dual citizenship, meaning you can't contest an election for a political position in the country, except you renounce your other citizenship. So this makes you less Nigerian because you don't enjoy the full right as a Nigerian. And I'm sure this clause is not peculiar to the Nigerian constitution, because a lot of countries in the world also has that clause.

Although the decision of the boys to represent England should be respected, but saying that they are also more Nigerian is debatable and cannot be 100% correct as some of them don't own or have never even applied for the Nigerian passport before.

Abraham and Tomori are too small to unsettle the most populous black nation in the world with an abundance of talents yet to be harnessed. For all I know, they are just young and are not yet established footballers. It may even turn out to be a case of one season wonder, who knows.

We shouldn't be in a position to beg any one if things are working right over here anyways.

I think Saka was the one who was interviewed and stated unequivocally that he is Nigerian. Getting those ones are easy. Has Tomori or even worse still Tammy ever ever identified as Nigerian? I don't think so.

If people can consider what these players identify as, not everyone will be feeling so disappointed afterwards.

Arnaut Danjuma is an example. During one of his interviews he spoke of Nigeria as one distant place he's not familiar with. Few weeks later the opportunity came and he flew at it, joining the Dutch team.

This moves to get this foreign born lads are getting almost clandestine. You just sit back and allow the foreign system develop them. After all, your own system is moribund and diseased. The players in your system are over aged and have stunted development. You don't bother about the home front, who cares anyway. After these foreign born are moulded into stars in another system then you come knocking on the door, "Hello lad, do you know you're Nigerian?"

There is always a 1st choice bro.
A good 20 year footballer is not an amateur. He should have played one or two seasons of high level football (according to Komekn). Someone like that would have a Plan A (or plan B if it applies) of who to represent.
My thoughts.

Saraki has dual citizenship and he was the senate president.

The choice of playing for Nigeria is not dependent on feeling Nigerian.. Trust me, many of these boys 'feel' Nigerian. Feeling Nigerian is not the same as wanting to play for Nigeria. The Nigerian lady running for Bahrain feels 'Nigerian'.

Tammy listens to Nigerian music, many of the friends in his circle are Nigerian kids. He grew up in a very Nigerian home. The decision is usually about what they think benefits their career more.

Dele alli is good no doubt and he has been successfull at his young age, almost 40 caps at age 23, only sterling and kane is more used in the english team than him , but he has lost form for almost a year, it took southgte time to drop him from the english squad

I laff some people most times that say most nigeria player will be used and dump by england, if you are good you are good, thou dele has been poor for some time now sha

This is not true. If Tomori was loaned out this season, he would have switched to Nigeria. Facts. Once he became a Chelsea first team player, England became his priority.

This also reminds me of Eniola Aluko..

She doesn't hid her Naija identity. She still visit Nigeria on a regular basis, though in the end she was bullied out of the National team

He was approached and had already indicated that he would switch. There was one thing that delayed his switch.

He did not expect to be a first team defender starting every match this season. That changed everything.

I am familiar with his case and Tammy.

For Tomori, England was priority number 1.
