exactly macky na arrangee I no fit do, but if na real marriage wey I love the girl, omo no need ask me twice na

Lol...the desire to have papers or green card can make a sincere guy fall in love..it is the motivation for guys outta here.. Falling in love is the best route, but they are not easy to come by.. These girls are super smart even the very good ones. They are quick to discern the secret motive behind " I Love you". So for you to make a decent girl fall for you here, you must be at the top of your game, very smart in what you do, with a prospective future.. If not, all they will read behind your profession of love is the green card.. NEVER mention your place of origin on your first meeting...word of advice..

Sometimes, you cannot avoid mentioning Nigeria. In my case, my wife asked me as a direct question on the first day we met.

It is clear that your thought process is different - who studies engineering and goes to get a masters too

Your grammar is different - no wanna gonna cheesy

dressing different - no tattoos or sagging pants

Your demeanor is different - no too much noise making

Then I knew about soccer which 'nobody' in the entire country knew Jack about.

She definitely knew this guy was not from here so she asked...
Where are you from?

That reminds me..

Internship and job hunters can and should remove Nigeria from all parts of their Resumes.

This is one place where I could avoid showing I am foreen.
Past schools, jobs and locations were cleared of major signs of being out of the country.

The love game is also a game of numbers just like job searching, the more people you meet, the greater your chances of finding someone... A sensible someone, not anyhow somebody o.
You are searching for love and the ladies are too.

They have several options and they have a choice on who to pick. You have a choice too - Don't be choiceless, no be do or die.

They have bargaining power, you do to as an 'Intel's C0rporation VLSI Engineer with potential of earning $90k post graduation', use that chip for bargaining! cheesy

I told a friend of mine to introduce himself as a 'Cummins Manufacturing Engr., Bsc, Msc Mech Engrg'. grin

I have another friend that once a Yankee chic mentions paper or immigration related matters in their discussion, he shuts dem down and tells dem not to go there. My guy go begin form vex. grin
Him no get paper no mean say him no get levels.

Lack of Boldness and a strong resolve naim be most people problem.

If them gree for you, na una two go benefit.
Love and a happy future is what you are looking for, Paper is just a side dish that comes with it.

If you are an engineer, what stops you from marrying a career minded individual? Add una two salary, $150+k niyen o..

I get one story, very long about my third person experiences with Nigerian ladies.

They are experiences from MY angle.

Dropping this here to remind myself to write about both cases.

Date extensively. Go on dates, social functions, school activities, join a gym or an activity that interests you. This will help you understand the American culture better. It'll give you an idea of a partner you would understand and relate with. This will help you avoid unnecessary arguments in your relationships and draw you closer to your partner.

Listen to this adivce. Don't be too quick to talk about papers. Let everything work out naturally.

You are on F1, you're not out of status. You're a grad student with possiblity of graduating with a distinction. The prospect of securing an amazing job. You have so many cards to play. Don't "mumu" yasef cos you dey find paali.

Macky don talk am. It's a game of numbers. The more you date, the more your chances of meeting more people. The more your chance of meeting that particular girl with your views and ideas that matches your personality.

But some of una naija ppl sef. U go enter yankee and have it in mind to taste every nationality toto before una serious. Una go don chase away your future bae..smh.

With what people pass through in arranged marriages, he might be more interested in doing it legit.

Remember he didn't say he will not get married. cheesy

lol!...Yes, I understood he meant that.

No smart person does arranged marriage to get US green cards anymore...too much is at stake with that kind of pretense.

However, people learn how to fall in love(in pretense) to get what they want in the marriage...and getting the green card is one of them.

Hoping no one falls victim of this but I know of a family member( who needed to be filed for to get a green card faster) married genuinely to his wife but do you believe that the marriage went on for almost 5 years and the wife still did not petition the green card for him?

He eventually got frustrated and wanted to leave the marriage why because he knew deep down in his heart that one of the reasons he developed likeness( in disguise of love affection) for the woman was because he thought that if he married the woman genuine she would think the marriage was genuine and be till death do them apart and without any hidden benefits attached.

People won't understand.

Lots of people just wanna come here and "get papers". No analysis how they plan to achieve that, what kind of person they can cope with.

From my personal experience, peace of mind na d koko dating out here..

Because you dey find paali doesn't mean you throw away common sense,

Don't marry an addict ( except maybe you sef na most high)

Be weary of ladies multiple kids with different baby daddies

No go near "I'll call police on you" kind of lady

No go near the "monkey dey work, baboon dey chop" ladies (except maybe na una arrangement be dat). If u do, una go work yourself to death with nothing to show for it.

Run from the "I'll fukkk you up, ni**a" lady

Be careful of "why is your sperm so little, you've been fukking around, I wanna measure it" ladies

Be very very careful of the ones that'll trick you into marriage then refuse to file your paali. Iron things out before una carry yourself go court.

And you sef, no pass your boundary. Let your yes be yes and no be no. No dey play "rough play", dey "scope" people up and down thinking water no go pass your garri.

America is hard, and will be harder if una no legit

Well said Oga mi, you didn’t add knowing your woman womb history, discuss the issue of having kids too.

My brother please don't mind some of these brainwashed ladies here... Here in New York, I don't even have their time... The funny thing is the single ladies with children that are making advances....imagine...The vast majority of them are in search of true love.. But the thing is immigrants have empowered them..paying them for marriage in order to get green card.. The decent ones are quick to spot a nice guy regardless.. A lady who happens to be a general manager at a place I go to sometimes, mentioned her single life to my hearing, and came to where I was to make sure I heard her.....and later told me one day that I am a nice guy...I said nothing... Another day, she went on to tell me that if I look intently at her, she becomes scared... We all have choices...If your true love is a single lady with kids, good for you... To folks out there, just stay focused..In America, most of the big guns are the very educated ones...Imagine some being paid over 71 dollars per hour...

True, those single mothers once they hit 32-33 and above, they start searching vigorously. Nobody falls for the arrangee stuff again. I know a dude who hasn’t gotten his gc after 2 years of being in the states. People think getting papers are easy, you go learn lol.

Good question Paccus..

Example.. Write OAU as Obafem1 Awolow0 Univ, Remove ile ife.

Instead of Gu1Ness Nig Plc, Ogba, Lagos Write Guin3ss.
Simple and short.

This is the format I use:
On the same line,
Left align - job title
Middle align - company name (no location except na Yankee, sometimes I am asked at the interview)
Right align - Duration

That's is
Job Title | Company. | Duration
Manufacturing Engr | Guinn3ss | June 2018 - October 2019
* Achievement 1
* Achievement 2
* Achievement 3

Remember, Achievements (American style) NOT Job duties (British style).
