Buhari is a total failure, the illiterate had turned democracy to full military regime with his misplace priorities of governance

thunder need to end that madness in Asorock before 2023, I doubt if Nigerians can survive that dude incompetency before his tenure elapsed

Supporting someone does not mean you should not condemned them when they are wrong.. How I wish Pdp supporters could be like that

in other countries Government provides basic amenities for its people but here in Nigeria the people provide water, security, roads, electricity e.t.c for themselves.
Yet, the failed government has no sense of remorse but still chooses to make living difficult for its citizens.
when u tax VAT
tax DEPOSIT and Withdrawal
tax INTERNET and PHONECALL usage
and also tax for TOLL GATE
what then is left ¿ the oxygen we breath?
I'm sad cos the labours of our heroes past are already in vain.

Watch how your credit reduce when you recharge. The tax will be deducted directly from your credit when you recharge. 100 naira credit, will now show 93 naira as balance.

See how globacom is charged a very low amount because it is a nigerian individual that owns it.
BUT Airtel and mtn are the worst hit in the tax stuff

Simplyleo:
Tax on services rendered by private sectors is not out of place, same applies all over the world and at even higher rates in some advanced countries, so I personally don't have issues with this.

However, my concern is the hyprocricy of the government.

A total of 261b is expected from tax on those telecom services alone. The customs boss, hameed ali, said the govt makes about 9b daily following border closure. Few days ago, the Labour minister, Chris Ngige, was complaining bitterly that if the government had to bow to labour demand on consequential salary adjustment of higher grade civil servants, it will cost the govt about 580b. This amount is more than sufficiently covered from just these taxes, not minding other newly introduced taxes like some funny bank charges, reintroduction of tolls on our roads, etc.

The hyprocricy on display here is that, while the above mentioned taxes (like the excise duty) have taken effect, or at worst few days to take effect (for others), negotiation for consequential salary adjustment is still in progress since April that the new minimum wage was signed into law.

This is nothing but plain hyprocricy.

There lies the difference between me and pdp foolish urchins in whose noodle-filled skulls, everything about pdp is the best.

I, on the flipside, see and say things the way they are regardless of my inclination. Besides, I'm not controlled by emotions.

Telecom subscribers in the country are likely to pay an additional N 261 . 18 bn on voice calls , short message service and data in one year if the Senate passes the proposed Communications Service Bill into law .

The bill , sponsored by Senator Ali Ndume from Borno South, aims to charge nine per cent on communication services and pay - per -view TV services.

This thread is 2 pages long yet every comment is about how cruel and wicked FG/PMB is. Not a single person put the bolded into perspective.

I don't know if Buhari is expected to waltz into the senate chamber and shoot down the bill. This is one of our problems whereby even the shortcomings and lack of performance in states aren't attributed to the state and/or local governments but rather the federal government.

To those supporting the bill, yes other countries do implement and in some western countries, telecommunication cost and taxes are very high (looking at you Canada). I also accept the need to tax but it should be something like 3% at most.

PAYE & luxury tax should be key but our senators will not pass a bill to review, upscale and fully implement cos they'll be the victims.

Furthermore, cost of governance should be grossly cut down especially the legislature.

The President , Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria , Olusola Teniola , also urged the government to consider a reduction in the cost of governance , instead of imposing the tax .
They will not read this.

The Nigerian Senate should enact laws to tax the rich. Not taxing unemployed Nigerians enjoying 10mb free bonus.

They should tax those who can afford luxury cars like Rolls Royce, Mercedes and Bentley.

They should tax people who own more than 3 cars in their garage.

They should tax people who own empty houses in every city in Nigeria. Abuja a case study.

I would not mind if I am rich.

Hahahahaha. Why are nairaland NEXT LEVEL campaigners wailing over this great move by ROBBER STAMP, sorry RUBBER STAMP senate doing the biddings of one illiterate cow and cabals in Aso Rock?
Instead of them to reduce the cost of governance by reducing the bugos salaries they (senators) receive every month, they rather want to transfer hardship best suited for zombies on sane ones who kick against another four years of directionless government. At the end their (senators) hardship allowance will increase to address this shit they impose on sane ones.
