Exactly the way out for Nigeria! Our peculiar ethnic configuration is best addressed by a Confederal system of government where the centre is weak while the confederating units are stronger. That way the ethnic struggle for who becomes Nigeria’s President is permanently taken care of and each geopolitical confederating unit can take care of itself as best required by its peculiar environment. The Swiss have been good at it. We can learn from them. |
