Hello Etrange..

What were your scores in the TEF exam and how did things play out regarding how many bonus points you got?

I understand you used TEF as primary test and IELTS as secondary?

How many bonus points did you get?

Salut a tous

Pls kindly correct my mistakes.

Apologies for the delay...also I have no TCF experience so please take comments below with a pinch of salt

Previous message/comment was deleted by NL angry ....so no more french words

Good effort. You may have spoken more about the country being francophone as mentioned in the question. Maybe also speak a bit more about your firm specific activities even in the evening (you did this in the 1st part, well done).

Good use of expression for "overlooks the beach" maybe use imparfait

Last line should be "learnt alot" .....remove d'.......I think.

Noticed you used futur and conditionnel....great.

All the best!

Eh ya doh. I struggled learning alone too o. I thought I could do it myself, I just wasted my time. Later, I contacted the tutor@ www.tobidam.com. And bam!! I am now in love with the language. I had that problem too sha. But my tutor used an arithmetic expression to solve the problem. Imagine arithmetics in French!!! I think I can say any number and even date off hand now. I am still undergoing training sha. So, I will recommend the same tutor. Contact him & confirm yourself. His details can be found on the down part of the homepage.
Thanks sir/ma @ Worldtaker. You're a destiny saver. I was able to get through to him since morning. He was busy tutoring. He gave me a free trial class. Omo, the class was sweet. He told me that I needed a minimum of 6 months intensive to think of writing TEF/TCF. I have already paid for a month first. He gave me my Time table. I'm starting on Monday!!!! In a month's time I think I will even surpass you o!!! Thanks again!!

I always forget to come here. But I have learned a few things from this thread every time I take a look.

Finally registered for TEF after shifting the dates like 3 times from April to July to September. I was going to even shift to November cos I always felt I'm not ready. I'm off to Lome on Monday for two weeks before the exams on 26th. I should write TCF to in between.

Wish me luck on my adventure. Thanks everyone.

Good luck!

Very impressive marketing guys. Well done.

Language learning is tough guys! you need a lot of work on your own as well as any other means of help you can get( including tutors if you can afford it) Don't expect everything to be solved by a tutor. Take everything with a pinch of salt and be strategic. Blessings!

that is known na. I graduated with a lecturer but I still read na, and went for tutorials. Some no go , get carry over, some do I too know fail, while some pass. The journey to Canada is personal, follow what works for u. I know what works for me. And I am a proud student, I work hard, listen to RFI, watch TV5, practice TEF questions. But still, I get confused. I even read ahead all to be confused again. I work hard but still need a tutor. Las, Las follow your mind! By the way, he tutors me too.

You'll find DanMisla's story about using the TEF as first language choice on page 25. Etrange scores were also highlighted on page 14.

I understand what you have just said and if you read my post, I am also recommending people use tutors if they can afford it. What would be a shame is if people are making up stories about their French difficulties or overestimating their progress in a bid to recommend a tutor. This clearly doesn't apply to you guys but weird things happen...Cheers!

Two reasons. Exams fees are cheaper. 2. More importantly, I need a type immersion. Something to boost my confidence and get all French before the exams.

Why Lome, Why not Nigeria?
Re: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by Kennyyo: 4:51am On Oct 13, 2019
The first tip is that a lot depends on the personal effort you're willing to put into it. You have to be obsessed with learning.
2. From my experience, I'll recommend group learning. There's a lot more you can learn from others. It exposes you to vocabulary and thinking of more than two people.

3. As for books, I'm taking classes at Alliance Française de Lagos, those texts actually contains a lot of what you need for the exams. But more importantly, there's nothing you won't find online. Google is loaded.

4. YouTube is also a partner you need. There's a lot of materials for you there. Na data e go chop.

5. Start listening to RFI. Français Facile at 8/9pm. It's recorded too so you can always listen to them anytime.

6. Talk to yourself in French if you don't have people around you to converse with. Just make sure you have conversations.

7. It's not easy. You will get tired and lose energy. Sometimes it will appear you're not making progress. Other times you'll be so excited that you'd think you are already bilingual. Those things are normal but review your progress every quarter.

I hope you'd find these tips useful.
