Let me lecture some of you briefly....In the political history of this entity called Nigeria the Yoruba's have always known to play the opposition politics which I respect them for bcus every healthy society need opposition. Example, Awo played an opposition during his political Carrier days. I laugh when the Yoruba's here say that IBO's have always be relegated to the back sit in Nigeria politic that's, far from the truth. 1960 when Nigeria gain her independence the first governor general whom the colonial masters handed the power to was Tafa balewa from present Bauchi state and Dr. Namdi Azikiwe the Owelle of Onitsha who, became the president October 1963 when Nigeria became full fledge republic, while Tafa Balewa was the prime minister bcus it was a parliamentry system of government then. Also, the first military head in Nigeria is Agurosi from present IMO state, Dr Alex Ikweme was a vice president to Shagari in the first republic. The only Yoruba man was ever a military head of state was Obasanjo, also the first Yoruba man to occupy the office a civilian president in Nigeria same Obasanjo. Shonekon was just an accidental interim govt. This was while G.O Adeboye said in one of the then Holy Ghost congress that if there is any Yoruba man who should be grateful to God is Olushegu Obasanjo papa Iyabo. So the school of history actually has it the IBO's have never be relegated to the back sit in Nigeria politics. In 2015 the northerner needed power badly bcus they felt they were being shortchanged while the Yoruba's felt that the then president Jonathan was not carrying them along terms of appointment forgetting, that PDP zone the spearship to south west but tinubu used his them ACN members from south west to vote for Tambuwa present Sokoto state governor that was how he became a speaker, yet the Yoruba's blame Jonathan for it instead of tinubu that, was the begin of Jonathan misunderstanding with Tambuwa bcus of the same Yoruba's issue in the party zoning which Tambuwa went against!
No one is disputing what your saying
Point is Igbo takes the most shit from Fulani but very hostile to Yoruba
Generally Yorubas are more advance and wealthier than igbos that has been in mainstream politics since 1960s

It is a known fact that you don't mess around with Southwest. They can bring down any government without firing a single shot! 2023 will be very interesting.

Which region spearheaded series of events that eventually led to the military taking over in 1966 and 1983?

Which region spearheaded series of protests that forced IBB to eventually step aside in 1993?

Which region formed NADECO that gave Abacha sleepless night and make it practically impossible for him to travel out of Nigeria?

Which region sabotaged GEJ when he neglected them during his tenor only to start going around begging their obas in the build up to 2015?

Let give it to them, the Yorubas can use their mouths and cunningness to bring down any government. The wise leaders from the North are aware of this fact.

Now in all honesty, do you think all the insults against the Yorubas are justified about us being southern betrayals when in actual fact the Igbos have formed the most alliance with the North just like you opined.

North Remembers
There was the problem of north holding power during military era.
To solve the problem, there was gentleman agreement to rotate presidency between North and South every 8 years.
OBJ did 8 years, and it was the turn of the North to do their 8 years.
Yar'adua got it nd died after 2 years, but since d agreement is not constitutional and stipulates dat d VP take over, GEJ was allowed to complete d remaining 2 years.
North was supposed to be allowed to finish their turn in 2011-2015, but south renege on the agreement and voted GEJ, even OBJ who is d first beneficiary of d zoning came out in public and deny d existence of zoning. In this present republic, by 2023, South will 14 years while North will have 10 years on power.
Anything that qualify South west to contest in 2023 after having 8 years as President and 8 years as VP also qualify North west to contest.
The only regions qualify to talk about zoning power to them is South East, North Central and North East.

Don’t mind them. We’ve been holding the dignity of the south since 1960 when Azikwe first sold the south to the north.

We held it against Ekwueme, Ugoh when they betrayed the southern hemogeny against the sons of the soil.

The Yorubas alone stood against the southern antagonists that called themselves friend and we have survived through the storm.
All those tribes in South South are all Yoruba haters

Look at programs like BB Naija and MBGN

There were Yoruba contestants that deserve to win it but they didn't vote for them because they were Yoruba.

You will see them all over the internet calling Yoruba all kind of names and they all hide under Igbo to hate on Yoruba.

Many Yoruba still don't know how these people in the south hate their guts but because we are just too strong for their hatred, you will never notice

You are right, I ain’t projecting 2023 politics. If you check through all my comment you will see I’m tryna be in the defensive against one fact that the Igbos jeep churning out about Yorubas being southern betrayal.

That statement always makes my stomach turn coz the Igbos are the biggest hypocrite ever to grace mother earth. They have been betraying south since 1960, Yorubas did it once in 2015 and all hell let loose.

If you know all this fact then why do you all keep blaming the Yorubas for being an ally of the north?

Isn’t it the Igbos that had been the lackey to the North since 1960? Why can’t you blame yourself and stop dragging the Yorubas to the mud with you.
And who told you that being an ally of another region is bad? You do business with a reasonable and trustworthy person. Let me tell you the simple truth: the North is better than the SW. Zik was betrayed by your people. Bode Thomas and Oyo king became enemies because the king supported Zik's NCNC against Awo's wish. You people stabbed Zik in the back and that's why he allied with the North. There's nothing wrong in that. Besides, why did you brag that your region held the ace before when you knew you were lying? That's how you Yoruba have continued to twist facts and history. Thank God you've admitted that you lied.

Just look at the insults just because I don't agree with you even though I'm not even igbo but from the NC!,what if It we're to be an igbo?,yet you want people to believe the yorubas are faultless when the yorubas themselves had stated that 2023 is theirs as far as Apc is concerned.well tanx bye.
1. There was no place in my posts where I insulted you.

2. I specifically told you nobody is faultless...no tribe has saints. I wad clear enough ooo. Chai. So how am i making people believe Yorubas are faultless?

3. No Yoruba man has come out to publicly to state interest in 2023.

The Yoruba elders specifically mentioned it is time for the South, not South-West oooo. And if there are no major Southeasterners in APC, are we to blame the Yorubas?

If you are really from the NC, then dont be biased. View the events from a clear non-tinted class.

So only when Igbos ally with the North is it acceptable. Yorubas are not allowed to, as that's betrayal.

How did Yorubas betray Zik? You've uttered crap. So Zik should have been allowed to rule the South-West? Igbos would have allowed a Yoruba man to rule South-East? The Yorubas fought for what they wanted, a Yoruba Premier. How is that betrayal?

As per mustapha, why should the Yoruba come out to defend a saying from a demented prisoner called Mustapha.

I don’t give a bleep about Buhari, it’s like you don’t know me by mistaking me for a Buhari supporter. I’m only an advocacy for the Yorubas and I don’t always drag myself into any argument with the Igbos unless they abuse or misinform people about the Yorubas.

The Igbos tried voting a renowned fugitive called Atiku who was a Muslim northerner so what is actually your argument?
And Yoruba voted a demented, old man who was uneducated, yet they claimed to be educated. Atiku, to the best of my knowledge, is a visionary who is successful in business. He employed so many Nigerians. He's educated and wise. Unlike Obj and Gowon, Buhari had never improved his educational status since leaving office in the 80's. He had never done a successful business. He claimed to be upright, but he's integrity deficient and highly corrupt too. After all, he believed that Abacha never stole. So, Igbo's choice of Atiku was a wise decision.

Historically, Yoruba interaction was with North West.

The likes and shares of any hate comment against Yoruba on Nairaland is also another prove.

Sometimes you feel like there are many Igbo online or on Nairaland more than Yoruba because of the way they like and shares hate comment against Yoruba.

It is not only Igbo alone that are liking those hate comments, there are also all these southern tribes that are all Yoruba haters.

I pity Yoruba because many still don't know how these people hate their gut.

The Yoruba Council of Elders, YCE, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to, without further delay, call the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai to order.

The Yoruba elders pointed out that the campaign by the north to contest the 2023 presidency with the South will plunge the country into a major crisis.

It said there should be no controversy over 2023, adding that it is the South’s turn in 2023 to takeover power.

YCE, scribe, Dr Kunle Olajide warned that Northern politicians must not make careless statements or remarks that can plunge Nigeria into crisis since Nigeria is a fragile country, and presently tottering and bleeding.

“Buhari should call APC members to order over 2023. He should call his party members to order. Buhari should call Governor el-Rufai to order. These people are not only distracting Buhari, but they are also disturbing the peace of Nigeria,” he was quoted by Sun.

“There should be no controversy over 2023. It is the South’s turn in 2023. Zoning is sacrosanct, and el-Rufai, Tofa and these groups from the North calling for the scrapping of zoning in 2023 are not only greedy and unpatriotic, but they are also enemies of Nigeria. They want to derail Nigeria. Northern leaders and elders should call el-Rufai, and Tofa to order.

“Nigeria is a fragile country, and presently the country is tottering and bleeding, politicians have to watch it. They must not make careless statements or remarks that can plunge Nigeria into crisis.

“This is what el-Rufai, Tofa and others calling for the scrapping of zoning are doing. If they truly love Nigeria, they should stop making inflammatory statements. They should not allow their personal interests and greed to put Nigeria’s unity in jeopardy.

“Nigeria is already deeply divided, and scrapping zoning is like inviting anarchy. Scrapping zoning will create further division among Nigerians.

“The present zoning arrangement should not be tinkered with. Scrapping zoning will have grave consequences for Nigeria.

“For Tofa and el-Rufai to say that zoning is dead or should be scrapped when it is supposed to be the turn of the South in 2023 is an insult to the sensibilities of Nigerians, and it is not acceptable.

“I believe that Gov. el-Rufai is just testing the waters by saying that zoning should be scrapped, and perhaps he is doing that because of the rumoured reports that he has presidential ambition in 2023, but if he has that ambition, he should just drop or forget it because by now his eyes should be clear that he and others in their group in the North who also have same interest will be resisted.

“Why must el-Rufai, Tofa and others in the North be calling for the scrapping of zoning in 2023 when it is supposed to be the turn of the South? This is why I said earlier that some of these politicians are greedy and very unpatriotic. They don’t think of Nigeria first. They are selfish and self-centred.

“Then again, Tofa and el-Rufai should not think there is one monolithic North again. The North is divided now and you can see that the people of the Middle Belt are already saying that they are no longer part of the North.

“For me, I believe that all these jostling for power at the centre will stop if Nigeria is restructured. If we return to a true practice of federalism like it was done in the First Republic, all these struggles for power at the centre will stop.

“Not only that, restructuring will also put an end to all the present socio-economic woes facing Nigeria. This is what I expect all these elements in the North and APC talking about scrapping zoning in 2023 to tell President Muhammadu Buhari to do.

“If Buhari truly loves Nigeria and also shares the same vision and ideals with the founding fathers of Nigeria, he should take the issue of restructuring serious, and ensure that he does it before the expiration of his second term.”

PureFace1:
The likes and shares of any hate comment against Yoruba on Nairaland is also another prove.

Sometimes you feel like there are many Igbo online or on Nairaland more than Yoruba because of the way they like and shares hate comment against Yoruba.

It is not only Igbo alone that are liking those hate comments, there are also all this southern tribes that are all Yoruba haters.

I pity Yoruba because many still don't know how all these people hate them.
@the bolded. You are a legend. I just discussed this not too long ago with a guy on here about that. The Yorubas are ganged up against by the rest of the south except Edo.

Look at the likes, you’ll see them all swamped against the SW, if not that we are emotionally superior we would have been shouting marginalization and hatred just like the other alarmists.

But Oduduwa blood runs in us and we will SURVIVE any onslaught.

IgANephropathy:

View the events from a clear non-tinted class.
tanx bye.
