In a country littered with gangs of robbers, cultists, criminals. Do you seriously believe every single person SARS targets is innocent? Do you know how dangerous that Apongbon area is? As a freelancer who was doing good in my twenties, i experienced lots of harassment from these sars idiots until I changed my orientation and became a professional with a registered company, unique car that isn't widely used by young guys, company ID and dress code ...

I'm not saying these boys are innocent but whether innocent or not, any teenager who knows how sars act stupidly most likely won't wait for them

A twitter user has called out the men of the Federal Anti Robbery Squad for the killing of some teenagers which happened on Lagos Island on Friday night. The reason for their actions still remain a mystery.

The more you try to explain away these callous, wicked acts, the more you make it sound like we're all illiterates. Like I said before you've been so used to the norm that you can hardly draw a line between right and wrong.
Lemme quickly give you a detour of what our statutes laws stipulates; first, if there's a reasonable reason to apprehend a suspect in a "public" place, utmost care and caution need be ensured because of innocent citizens and the culprit, who to the law at that point is very much a suspect, until the law proves otherwise. Second, when a criminal takes to his heels the law stipulates you may go after him but must also use "reasonable" force to apprehend. Now, what's reasonable force? A suspect not armed with a deadly weapon or firearm should not be shot at to stop his escape UNLESS he's a criminal wanted for grievous crimes such as treason, treasonable felony, homicide, armed robbery etc. Again, age of the suspect plays a vital role in the manner of apprehension; whether he's a juvenile to the law or an adult.
In this case, the police stormed a public gathering and began to chase some teenagers(based on the pictures), eventually some died as a result. What the officers should have done is leverage on the element of surprise and first block every exit point, then approach the suspects cautiously. This event would not have played out like it just did.
By the way, referring to how some black/ coloured minorities in the west are being treated to justify this incident is very insensitive of you. Officers in the western world who have shot suspects without having reasons to believe their personal life is at risk at that moment, or perhaps the suspect was reaching for a firearm, are usually dismissed from the force, tried according to the law, while govt pays adequate compensations. Today, most of these police officers now wear body cams to ensure every activity are monitored and evaluated.
