All these things sometimes do not need as much stress as this.

1. You can move your money to other bank quietly and do the TB there transfer charge is N52.5. Just make sure you visit the bank to know if they have your desired rate/tenure before the transfer.

2. However, if you do not have another account or you insist on doing it with them then just before you go out to the bank or while in the bank that morning you can call their customers service to verify what is available on ( 01 422 0003). That call will go to their Head Office Customer Service though like normal CS it be giving you options till you select to speak with an agent so you may spend a little on call. I'd an agent pick tell them what you want then if you are satisfied with any option tell you had to call them because nobody wants to treat your request in the branch you are... You will see what will happen.

3. Also, if you insist on investing with Stanbic or you do not have another account, you can go on their main twitter handle post your complaint there if you use twitter. Just explain how hectic investing in TB is in the branch you went and how many time you went there. They will ask you to send a Direct Message to them and explain the details.

Good luck.
Thanks, I've written to der mail, a new account offr has call me... Hopefully on Monday. I'll just wait for Wednesday dan to purchase der secondary rate because primary auction start on Wednesday.

Hello house.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that he reinvested his interest so that at the end of the tenor, he gets a bit higher than the supposed interest. I tried to dig that page out but don't want to waste too much time digging.

I want to know if that happened in primary or secondary cos after my maturity yesterday, I did secondary today and proposed to reinvest the interest but she said it's pro rata and since buying stops by 1pm, there's no way to reinvest the interest.

Since I didn't have in depth knowledge of how he did his, I accepted the norm and still proposed my interest with the fave value be paid at the end of the tenor but they paid me my interest.

I really hate collecting this interest upfront hence, I want advice from papas in the building

U need to go back to school first and gain the knowledge of understanding percentage calculation.

I have done the Re-investment of the interest before and it was on Secondary Market. I just explained to the officer that I didn't want the interest paid upfront but it should be reinvested. That was all and she perfected it. This was at First Bank.
There was nothing special requirement for it only that you indicate it in the form you will fill. In both Primary and Secondary Markets, it is applicable (interest Re-investment is possible).

You are welcome. OK then, at least that goes to show that no particular person in any office is all and all..

Then I guess stanbic fails here. They always pay me my upfront even when I don't need it and even after indicating in the letter that I want it paid at the end of tenor, they still end up paying it.

I wish she'll have knowledge about interest reinvestment. Or maybe I should meet my account officer.

I tried to bid for Treasury Bills at Access Bank for their 324 days tenor with a 12 percent discount rate, but their N18,000 custodian fee put me off instantly. The upfront payment was about 620k and the principal is N6m. Is this a good deal?
The charge is 2.9%...
(Fbn charged me 2.1% total last week)

Are you sure you saw that 18k is for only custodian fee?
Or it's total charges?

Try it again and if it's same.. Better port to another bank O

your interest should be 720k @12 not that
The charge is 2.5% not too much
(Fbn charged me 2.1% total last week)

Are you sure you saw 620k or 702k interest?
It's prorated. 324 days not the full tenor

So, say am investing 100k Commission: 0.125%=12,500
Custody Fee: 0.10% per transaction (per investment)=10,000
Transaction Fee: N100.00 per transaction (per investment)=100
VAT= 630 Total=N23,230 What do I stand to gain then?
you are almost correct.
Just that the calculations above are not done On the capital But on the interest you earn.
100000 @ 12% = 12000 interest.. Then you calculate those charges on that 12k.

You might as well transfer the so called upfront to your MMF. If you do it early enough, you should get value same day

Let me help you.

you see that 0.10%?

you have to remove the percentage by dividing 0.10/100 this will give you 0.001.

So to get the custody fee, multiply 0.001 by 100,000 to give you 100

Therefore, the the custody fee is 100 naira.

I hope this makes sense

You can try this calculation for the others.
Hi, I'm researching on what investment option to go in but I don't understand Treasury bill that's what am interested in due to the security surrounding it.

Please could you explain to me a little on it. I'm looking at going in with 500k, after how long can I get my money and charges and pretty much any little details I need to know.

Yesterday I contacted an investment company, I didn't really like all they said. thanks in advance

there is a lot to learn about Tbills. Try reading the last 30 pages it should help
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Ibrahim505(m): 12:14am On Oct 13, 2019
i-invest is having an attractive rate of 14.46% for 362 days which may be a good catch for long term investors.
You can also now invest 50k which means they are making it simpler.
Kudos to parthian partners as they activated their Eurobond investment vehicle.

I went to break from tbills investment following inability to credited my wallet using debit card but, it has now resolved with the updated app.
Though, i recently buy tbills at sibtc, it's always stressful and time consuming, hence, i prefer the app.

Wickedtruths:
How much is bank loan interest rate per annum?
Around 21% and above.

How much is Tbills interest rate per annum?
Around 13% as at today.

You want to use 21% debt to make 13% profit?

This picture explains what would happen if you try it.

They even tried for you giving you peanuts. For me,they don't give me Kobo rather they deduct some charges that I don't even understand. Now I prefer leaving my money in mutual funds than to leave it in the conventional bank account.

Hi fam,

A friend of mine invested 1.8m in treasury bills for 6 months via GTB and got 90k as interest (5%). November is when the contract will end and he is looking to reinvest the money again. But the problem is that seeing the comments of people here he feels he was cheated by GTB. Please, what do you suggest he do? Which strategy will make him get more interest?

Thank fam!
