One day I met an accident all the passengers are still trapped inside the vehicle, I rushed in and started pulling them out, many people just stood there watching me...i keep shouting for help but many of them were reluctant to come forward.. The first people we pulled out were already dead and had blood all over them, on sighting the blood the man helping me pulled back and left me there alone because he couldn't stand the sight.
A few guys joined but we needed more hands to help us drag the dead ones off so that we can rescue the few alive, I didn't know when I started crying, one women started shouting at the men there calling them corwads, I think that pushed them to action , at the end we rescued those we could and rushed them to the hospital. I was so disappointed by the act of some men, how can you say you are a man and when situations arise instead of acting like one you will chicken out...

What if you are the one in that situation and instead of people to help you they are rather busy taking pictures to upload on social media? How will you feel?

Our problem is our faulty system. People avoid helping accident victims because of how the police and most times the hospital turn the case against them.

I once helped took an accident victim to the hospital with my vehicle. When we got to the hospital I was detained by the hospital. The funny thing was that this lady was alive and was even telling the doctors that I was not the one that hit her. That I stopped to help get her to the hospital.

I was threaten with the police. In the end I had to find a way to sneak out of d hospital in morning after being kept all night.

Our system is our problem.

I guess you may never help any accident victim again.

I was amazed when I got to an accident scene some weeks ago, and some pple were parking cars only to watch, I quickly volunteered to rescue them with my car, I was able to rescue 2, one died on the way to the hospital, and another which I couldn't rescue, died at the scene.

I really felt bad about Nigerian attitude towards accident victims. It shows a long way how bad this country has become, people are scared of police problems, are scared of aftermath effect should things go haywire, may God save us!

Don't blame them,blame the system.

What you said happens and it is unfortunate we experience such.
You are even lucky she didn't die, it would have been a different case.
I doubt our police goes for trainings and orientations.

I once took a guy to Igbobi hospital when I witnessed his accident. Nothing life threatening though. It was oblique displaced fracture on his right arm. While I was there, after spending almost a whole day tired and hungry, I witnessed a man who brought an accident victim to the hospital as well. It was an emergency case and after some time, the patient died. The man was held at the hospital until the police came to take him away. The man said that he only wanted to help the victim since every other person zoomed off. I felt pity for him as he was manhandled by the rogues while he tried to resist going to the station

I don't blame those who don't want to help, those talking about how some Nigerians are this or that haven't experienced any problem yet.

The system is just so fuxked up, it will be very hard for this country to move forward.

My sister I was lucky. Even as d lady bore witness that was not the culprit. I was treated like a criminal. I doubt if I can do such again.

Nigerians and the attitude of walking away from wounded victims.

It still beffales my imagination why we continue to behave this way. If you won't get them in your car.

The attitude of gather to look or snap pictures when need arises is inhumane, animalistic and irritating

I was passing by an accident scene and saw MY FELLOW NIGERIANS taking pictures no help. It wasn't till I reached six buildings away I realised no one helped. I had to turn back perform medical assistance to this guy whose entire frontal face fell of exposing his brains. With blood gushing uncontrollably. Nigerians brought out phone to take pictures. It took the entire day an event that ended 9pm but the guy lived. Thesedays when he's pallys see me around the hood they stand up to greet in ways that humble me

I learnt he was the breadwinner of his family. D the family would have crushed without him. On ntw, he breathed his final breather as he fainted the moment I had him dropped on the hospital bed. I got to meet with his family and friends. The doctors said if he arrived ten minutes beyond when he got in, he would have died. Imagine. And people would bring out phones to snap pictures.

Don't rule it out completely OK, if God places you in the position to save lives, pls do....He will still see you through. Actually you will battle with guilt if you didn't act and that cost a life.
Stay blessed

My brother it is so painful. A country that relies on the goodwill of private citizens for emergency situations. What does it take to create a standard emergency services? Which kind of stupid country is this? You can imagine the number of citizens that have died in helpless situations like this. Too bad

I once helped an accident victim, who unfortunately died later in the hospital. Guess what,I was accused of running him over.I was arrested, pressurized to admit that I did it.but to God be the glory, I managed to exonerate my self of the accusation. It was a horrible experience, it was that period I told myself that Nigeria police force are 99% illiterate

Jesus. Please don't let it debar you from. Extending benevolence in future. God granted you mercy not to shield yourself against helping in event of future needs. The same God is still available for present and future needs. In my own case cause I'm into the medical field I had to attend to him personally alongside doctors in all three hospitals I took him to and made sure none of all three wasted a single minute of his time. I. E the first was looking for the ambulance driver. I knew if we waited the driver won't come and he'll die of complications so I gave no permission for the slightest form of delays. Guess what along the way cars. Roke down multiple times even the ride we took packed up so I sensed like something wanted to kill the guy and made sure I stuck up with him all through till the end. I simply told myself it would be a shame on me as a seasoned Christian to see a victim in need died in my hands
