safarigirl: My analogy may not be literally compatible with your claim because unlike Kenya with the WC, Uzoho has actually faced freekicks. But then how many quality freekicks has Uzoho faced in his career?. At the U-17 WC he featured in he was not often used so he never got the chance to face any freekick, he played a couple of matches for Deportivo (without facing any serious freekick), in his present league in Cyprus how many good freekick takers play there? Please post video clips of some good freekicks Uzoho has saved in the Cypriot league if any such video exists. I give Uzoho kudos for saving the ONE threatening spotkick he faced at the WC, but to be fair, the position from where the kick was taken was NOT for a left footed player. It is a great feat that Messi even managed to get the shot on target at all from such an awkward position. Please rewatch that game's highlights and verify. |

elyte89: Exactly. Uzoho's freekick clean sheet is not a result of his abilities but rather the fact that he is yet to face quality freekicks. Just as Kenya's World cup lose-less record is not a result of thier abilities but rather, of the fact that they are yet to face teams at the WC. They say Uzoho is good at "positioning" for freekicks. I ask, is Uzoho better at positioning than Olivier Khan?, Cech?, Neuer?, Hart?. Because all these legends have conceded freekicks at some points of thier careers. |

kellycute: "Uzoho has faced several freekicks" you say. I challenge you to post a video clip or a media report of ONE close range threatening freekick that Uzoho has ever faced in all his career apart from that single Messi kick at the WC. I will wait |

Tammy Abraham won’t Play Ahead Of Osimhen In The Super Eagles – Rohr October 15, 2019 9:37 am Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, says he can’t Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham an automatic shirt in the team, even if he choose to play for the Country. Abraham and club teammate Fikayo Tomori decided to pledged their International future to England ahead of Nigeria early this month. While Abraham who has played two friendlies for the three lions in 2017 was given his competitive debut for England in their 1-2 loss to Czech Republic on Friday, Tomori watched from the bench for the entire duration. Meanwhile after the International retirement of Odion Ighalo, Osimhen has stepped up and made the number 9 position in the Super Eagles his own, following his incredible form in the last twelve months. Gernot Rohr who led Nigeria to two respectable draws against Ukraine and five time world champions Brazil in September and October respectively, said the Chelsea striker knows he won’t be an automatic starter in the Super Eagles. Rohr added that he player would have convince him before earning his spot like every other players that switched allegiance to the Country. He said: “Abraham would have improved our team because he is a quality player but he still wouldn’t have picked an automatic shirt to start. “Osimhen now has it and he will have to earn it. Like others who switched allegiance did, the likes of Tyronne Ebuehi and Ola Aina.” |

AFCON qualifiers: Rohr retains Azeez punchng.com Oct 15, 2019 1:16 AM Ramon Azeez Johnny Edward Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, will keep faith with Ramon Azeez for next month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic on November 11, Sports Extra has reliably gathered. Rohr recalled Azeez back to the Eagles for the first time in five years for the clash against Brazil with the Granada midfielder posting a decent performance when he came on for Alex Iwobi in the encounter which ended 1-1 in Singapore. But the German coach will not be extending an invitation to the duo Victor Solomon-Otabor and Anderson Esiti after the pair reportedly failed to impress in training. “The coach was quite impressed with Azeez but Esiti, who had another chance (after the Ukraine friendly), didn’t prove he was ready to stay in the team,” a team source told Sports Extra. “Rohr is eager to keep the competition stiffer in the team so the players know that quality players will be invited to take their places if they don’t measure up.” Meanwhile, Maduka Okoye is in contention to make his full debut for Nigeria in the encounter in the absence of Francis Uzoho who damaged his external knee ligament and meniscus. Okoye was picked ahead of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who has been inactive, to replace Uzoho in the Brazil tie. The 66-year-old coach will also be boosted with the return of Samuel Kalu and Oghenekaro Etebo for the game against Benin. Both players missed out on the game due to different issues. Rohr’s men will face Lesotho in their match-day two AFCON qualifier in Maseru eight days later, before the qualifying series take a break for eight months before resumption in August 2020. The top two teams from each of the 12 groups qualify for AFCON 2021 to be hosted by Cameroon. |

Curtisaxel7: This is a moot point The statement os clear; "Uzoho has not been beaten by a free kick" The quality of the free kicks is not in contention, no one mentioned quality, you cannot negate a fact based on an adjective that was never applied to begin with, else, it amounts to changing and twisting the question to suit your answer. The fact is that Uzoho has not conceded from a free kick, everything else is logical semantics. 4 Likes |

This is Francis Uzoho between late 2017-2018. In this clip, you will see he faced Freekicks vs Argentina, England, Poland and Iceland and saved them all. This doesn't even involve 2019 games vs Ukraine where he pulled off a superb FK save (Two FK saves actually but one was so much more superb). Watch and be informed.... The big lad is simply yet to be beaten from a setpiece (referring to Freekicks-direct). He will eventually get beaten in time but until then... the valid fact remains: Uzoho has faced several FKs (vs Lewandowski, Messi, Sigurdsson, Coutinho, Kane, etc) and has never been beaten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaXzVmbFQRA 3 Likes 1 Share |
