Maka why
Nigerians didn't ask for a National ID card. It was a government initiative.
The concerned agency is not capable of producing the ID cards. The agency should be sued and fined for collecting data of Nigerians and national budget yet... they are unable to produce these cards after 6years.

Why should National ID cards expire? Does our citizenship expire or something?
And if the cards expire, why must they be renewed at the cost of N5000?
If you take the card to a business center, N1000 can reproduce it with profit for the business center
They increased cost of drivers' Licence, cost of passport, VAT and now ID card. Of what use is government to Nigerians?
They never bring policies to grow the economy, to improve infrastructure, to create jobs, to improve quality of life, standard of living etc.
They only increase hard times.
Nigerians should say no to such nonsense
What they are simply saying is that we should handle it with care.

I have been to NIMC office in Port Harcourt severally to enrol, once I get to BVN verification stage, they keep telling me internal error. That our card is ready and waiting to be brought from Abuja. Please if you have ever encountered such,do let me know how you maneuvered it.Because the staff here is asking me to part with huge sum of money to work it for me,which is against my principle though.

There are certain organisations that arrange theirs specially.
Especially banks and multinationals.
I am made aware that 3 weeks ago, Mitusbuishi motors did theirs for all staff and it will be ready before three months..that's the koko.
Otherwise if you go office, it's from 2/3 years till infinity.

I'm not a staff of UBA..I think NIMC have some sort of collaboration with UBA.. cos the card also has a form of wallet that u can fund with your UBA account. They said u could withdraw from the said wallet when u need cash and dont have your ATM card with you.
So UBA gave them an upstair office to run their thing... so it's for the masses. Both those that bank with UBA and those that don't. It's just that those that have a UBA account would be able to access the wallet should they wish to link up their account to the ID card.

Even the Nigeria Passport ought not to be more than #100. Because it is currently more useless than the tissue paper!

So the original identity card has expired date, whereas there is no expiry date on the slip..... I will continue with the slip, they can keep their card,....afterall the slip is been recognized and it cannot expire... Wisdom is profitable

Something that I enrolled for since 2014 is not yet ready sef.... Make them continue to keep am

That's what they collect, this is because they still pay when they get to Umuahia.
It's N1000 at NIMC HQs in Umuahia.
So what the Osisioma guys simply did was factor in transportation.
I did mine in 2013 and got the card in Dec last year.

Bro, just give them or else you transport yourself to Secretariat, that's the Nigeria we find ourselves.

Hmmmm, Nigeria we found ourselves. Who did we offend to deserve this? Especially in the hand of this heartless government who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on the citizens.

Why should National ID card expire?
Does it even make any sense?
As in if it expires, you cease to be a citizen or what?
So why is voters card not also expiring after 5 years?
One wonders with what the decision maker thinks
Does ones citizenship expires?

Igbo people and their Eastern way of doing things is just different in this Country. I did mine for free in the North. A friend if mine also did for free in Benin. I think, something is not right about the East.

Well, have a buddy who work there....he told me but am not confirming.
He said certain logistics aren't budgetted for them.
Like fuel, WiFi etc.

So they update themselves, that formerly they hope on nepa light but where NIMC is situated in Umuahia is like a barren land.
So it was people who agreed to be paying to make life easier.
When I did mine in 2013, I paid nothing but once you step in,it's 1k...funny thing...management is aware.
It's no bribe...it's open!

Baba leave our matter....e deh always different.

Kwanza:
The National Identity Management Commission, says the renewal of the National Identity Card will cost five thousand naira (N5,000) payable through remita.

This was disclosed by its tweeter handle (@nimc_ng) monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday, and confirmed by a staff of the Corporate Department of the NIMC.

NIMC also said that applicants who wish to renew their card can visit any NIMC office with the required documents to obtain their card.

” The requirements include a written application with attached proof of payment receipt made through remita, bank teller, NIN slip and submit it at our office.

” Card renewal costs N5,000 payable through remita.” NIMC tweeted.

The tweet also explained that the main focus of the commission was to ensure that all Nigerians are enrolled.

” Our main focus is ensuring that all Nigerians are enrolled and issued their NIN and Your NIN is the most important token of your enrollment.

According to the commission, Nigerians can authenticate their National Identity Number through the NIMC verification portal.

”Your NIN can be authenticated through our verification portal without your card” NIMC tweeted.

” You will be issued your cards when funds permit, Please bear with us and Your NIN is generated immediately for you upon successful completion of your enrolment.”
