Any idea of the price per bag?

Currently I don't know the price. There was a thread addressing that recently. Seems they have all hiked the prices. Now in the range of 22k and above grin

Prior to this whole LAND border closure issue, I never knew I have been consuming local rice.

Never encountered stones in them, neither were they soggy... Lil wonder they can easily rebag them and pass them off as the much celebrated FOREIGN rice. They are that good!

So, I will say Mama Gold, Mama's Pride and Stallion. That is also what they always gave us during festive periods at my former place of work. Now I know they were buying Naija.

Please lets patronise our own.
The biggest problem which we are facing in Nigeria is the people are illiterate they don't even know what goes on in their own country or in their own backyard mama gold is imported rice from Thailand. Seventy percent of the rice branded in Nigeria are imported rice from India and Thailand.

70% of the rice written made in Nigeria are imported rice. Mama gold black Stallion super eagle rice all of these are important

I tried Umza rice based on seller recommendation when i couldn't get lake rice and it was really good. No stones or shafts though a little starchy but very nice. I'll certainly be buying more of that local rice even if/when imported rice is in abundance

Babe, I was shocked when I read on NL that it's a Nigerian grown rice. If I were thrown that question at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, even after they remove two incorrect answers - I still won't choose Nigeria. grin

I bought about 17k a bag, before this issue escalated though. It isn't even scarce like people claim, maybe they also didn't know it is local.

With a plethora of complaints from different sectors regarding the nature of our locally produced rice, I am compelled to ask, in your own experience, which Nigerian brand of local rice is the best?

I know or believe that there are local rice brand that are clean, stone-free and can compete with the foreign ones.

Please help us with picture, not just words... Give us a name

if you work in any of the mills that produces rice or you live in a state that produce rice, kindly represent your company or state and help boost its revenue by duly representing her on here. brag and mention her name.

When this thread hits front page, which I believe it will, this will get attention and automatic sales for the brand.

I do not want to join others to complain and that is why I want to give this platform to those who produce the best brand of local rice.

Big bull is okay.

..The company has stopped importing mama gold rice to the country for a long time.So anywhere you see 'mamagold rice' today in Nigeria there s a high probability that it s Nigeria made/diluted..the company now produce rice locally in Nigeria just like that of LAKE RICE.They have their own large hectares of rice farm land in Nasarawa state. The name of their Nigeria made rice is now 'MAMA PRIDE PREMIUM RICE' it has the same logo as mama gold rice...If you ve never eaten any good rice before just look for this rice in the market and i ve a taste i can give you assurance that you will never buy any other rice against...fairly scarce and expensive too but very good...they are still expanding just the way LAKE RICE is not readily available in every shops in the market..
