[quote author=TroubleMaker47 post=83190983] Stallion n that particular mama gold rice is foreign or atleast rebagged[/quot9e] Your wrong. Mama's pride and Mama's gold rice are produced in nasarawa state, Nigeria by Olam grains. Been eating it for years. Olam Nigeria gives it as gifts to every of their staffs in Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

sunnyflakes: The best cultivated rice in Nigeria was red rice which was from the Chad Basin or lake Chad the company knew to have 15000 hectares of rice farm but since with this boko Haram issue we do not even find the rice again I think the insecurity has affected their farms and production. I can see this is one of the best rides in Africa red rice it is the same quality as a tasty rice Botswana or Namibia rice and Botswana. If you taste red rice even without putting meat you will bite off your tongue. The biggest problem with red rice 3 years ago the price was about 32000 Naira for 50 kg 1 Like |

actrinity:All mama products are very confusing because if you go to Benin Republic cotonou it is full of their products. Even the border with Nigeria like Simi border it is full of their products. It is very difficult to know because the truth of the matter is I hear they have Rice farms in Nigeria but most of the brands which are seen on the market are imported from mama or repackaged. A good way to know imported rice if it is everywhere then you know it is imported most of the rice Mills locally they run out of produce especially before the rainy season |

All those complaining about stones in Nigerian rice are plain lazy cooks. Before Thai/Indian rice started to be imported we all were eating healthy local rice, only that you spend a few minutes removing the tiny stones that come with it because of the way our people in the villages process it by drying the rice on bare ground. If you suspect rice you bought has tiny stones mixed with it, just pour enough water over the rice in a round bowl, move the bowl around briefly and the stones will sink to the bottom. Take out the rice and pour away the stones. Five minutes and you are done with de- stoning. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

ADANI RICE is what we enjoy here in Nsukka, Enugu State. It is confirmed local long grain rice. De-stoned, delicious clean white color after cooking. I got this bag of 25kg for N6,100 just two weeks ago. I learnt same size and quality is going g for N8,000 as at yesterday. That means 50kg will go for N16,000 now.
