It’s pdp twitter trolls. Don’t mind them. Since they can’t win Obiano in elections they want to win through the back door. Ndi ara
See, Obiano doesn't have sense.

At this point in time, he should have put the head of the state fire service under suspension, suspended the head of the fire station and make sure he publicises it well. That's how sensible people handle image crisis.

He can quietly recall them later but let his people feel he's on top of things.

He is wrong... But, not on all counts.

Fire prevention and containment should be every business person's prerogative... How can an entire commercial centre not have an in-house fire emergency outfit??!... There are things you don't wait on the government to do. Being on the river Niger, one would expect there to be ready and standby water hosing system for such exigencies... Government has failed us, but our dependence on this same government for nearly everything will continually be our undoing.

As for Obiano... Posterity will judge him and his generation terribly for deliberately choosing to rubbish a laudable and excellent foundation laid by his predecessor. How can a state with such daily commercial and revenue generation fail to have a highly functioning emergency center??!...

This is why I keep telling most of your IPOB to sit their asses at home, have a word with one another, and begin to purge (violently or peacefully) the leadership sphere of their states.

Obiano is not fake, doesn’t play to the gallery like Peter Obi. He has already visited the scene and will be meeting with the victims tomorrow for compensation. That is fine

Nigerians Call For Gov Obiano’s Resignation Over Slow Response To Anambra Fire

Nigerians have demanded the resignation of Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, over his government’s slow response to the fire incident in Onitsha on Wednesday.

Three persons were said to have been killed including a mother and her child after a fuel tanker fell and went up in flames at MCC Bus stop near Toronto Hospital, Upper-Iweka, Onitsha.

Many houses along Iweka Road were burnt, some parts of Ochanja Market were affected while about six houses and vehicles were razed.

Reports say that it took over an hour for its neighbouring state’s fire service arrive at the location because of the distance and traffic on River Niger bridge and the Onitsha-Benin highway.

The Delta State Fire Service, on arrival, met a group of angry protesters, who threatened to burn the emergency vehicles for being late.

They blamed the Anambra State Government for the disaster by not providing fire-fighting equipment to the area.

The fire fighting vehicle soon ran out of water and the fire raged on till midnight.

Nigerians on Twitter have appeared unimpressed with Mr Obiano and have called for his resignation.

Opposition are always criticizing Obiano in the social media but you don't hear them say these things on the streets because they know they may be beaten by the masses for speaking against a working governor. Obiano visited the affected traders this morning and they were very excited to meet him. When he promised to compensate them before Christmas, they all shouted in joy and chants of 'Akpokue' filled the air.

MERCHANDISER:
All Eastern Governors are corrupt and wicked.

No road in Streets of Onitsha,Enugu,Awka,Umuahia,Owerri and Nnewi

It's high time we masses start beating and attacking these governors.

What have they been doing with Federal allocations,Tax payers money, paris fund and security votes running in billions of dollars?

watch the video how over 40 residential buildings got destroyed and scores of lives were lost in Onitsha

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27V8IzllMtI#menu

So the state government can't provide a fire service to
quench the fire outburst. This is height of insensitivity on their
part
Your siblings don't agree or think so... For them, Buhari is the sole cause of their backwardness.

DarkJeddi:
What kind of question is that?

So if a fire incident occurs, the Fire Brigade is not supposed to come and put it off because it is not the Governor's fault?
So this literally means that Obiano asked them not to show up then, or even told them not to fill their empty tanks as they alleged yesterday.

The Governor doesn't control the fire department, he has someone that does that.

That's person all these blames should be channeled to.

Asking a Governor to resign over mere Fire Outbreak is PDPish

Assuming it was in Obi,Nigige or Mbadinuju regime they would have beaten the hell of of him when he came to onitsha this morning.

Did he go to the market where the fire wrecked damage or was he busy talking to the gutter at Upper Iweka?

Please, I'm still grieving over the incident that happened in onitsha, humans like you and I and that insensitive beast just lost their lives, properties and means of livelihood

Even a fool knows when to use sarcasm, I just hate people who are insensitive to the plight of others.

The Governor has the responsibility to make sure that there is a functional Fire Service in his State..

So yes the blame rests squarely on him first and foremost..

It is left for him to apportion blame as he sees fit..

Saying he should resign maybe a little bit on the extreme side but the blame starts with him..

You don't laugh and joke over everything, but crying doesn't necessarily solve everything either

We can't continue like this...somebody needs to tell the harsh truth... will people keep dying needlessly and we will be crying??

There is a reason why in films, a drunkard, a mad person or a child is used to reveal things...because they just say it as it is

I don't support his bad mouth but how long are we going to keep mourning people without cause

NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

Please how is this Obiano's fault and why would any sane thinking person demand his resignation?
What did they expect him to do?
To use his bottle of Hero Beer to put off the flame or to use its fire to light his tobacco pipe?

The truth is,
The traders who couldn't put off the fire themselves are the lazy ones who failed all of us.
In a whole Onitsha an ordinary petrol tanker's flame could not be put off. What's the essence of having River Niger then?

They were busy throwing sachet water on the inferno when River Nigeria is just 70naira away from the scene of the accident.
Why didn't they go there with buckets to get water to put out the flame since they couldn't pump water from it pending the arrival of the Fire Service trucks.

The religiously overzealous traders who normally lock up stores to observe midday mass were nowhere to be found as well.
Maybe their prayers would have brought down rain to douse the flames.

In fact, everyone is lazy and I am even lazy to type anymore.

We are all acute denialists. Our leaders are not the problem. We are the problems.
Till we realize we can do more than just throwing blames on our leaders, we will always have a dysfunctional Country.
You only make sense at the last paragraph. The previous paragraph is just weed smoker's talk.

That's not what the traders are saying. They say it was a sabotage by northerners. Most of you are not even on the ground.
Re: Anambra Fire: Obiano Should Resign - Nigerians React by MetaPhysical: 11:57am On Oct 17, 2019
I noticed a new trend from SE. When something happen over there and they need support they will caption it "Nigerians react".

Is this the first petrol tanker fire in Nigeria? No. Why are Nigerians just reacting? Because Ibos need Nigerians sympathy.

Imagine if they said instead SE reacts or Ibos react. No one will care. grin

In my opinion the issue here is against Obiano, it should correctly have been captioned "Biafrans react".
