globemoney:See, Obiano doesn't have sense. At this point in time, he should have put the head of the state fire service under suspension, suspended the head of the fire station and make sure he publicises it well. That's how sensible people handle image crisis. He can quietly recall them later but let his people feel he's on top of things. |

Temptee101:He is being sarcastic... why dont those people organise themselves in case of events like this? If a market trader dies they will still contribute money for ogene singers Why cant they have an internal system for themselves? |

eTECTIV:He is wrong... But, not on all counts. Fire prevention and containment should be every business person's prerogative... How can an entire commercial centre not have an in-house fire emergency outfit??!... There are things you don't wait on the government to do. Being on the river Niger, one would expect there to be ready and standby water hosing system for such exigencies... Government has failed us, but our dependence on this same government for nearly everything will continually be our undoing. As for Obiano... Posterity will judge him and his generation terribly for deliberately choosing to rubbish a laudable and excellent foundation laid by his predecessor. How can a state with such daily commercial and revenue generation fail to have a highly functioning emergency center??!... This is why I keep telling most of your IPOB to sit their asses at home, have a word with one another, and begin to purge (violently or peacefully) the leadership sphere of their states. |

Chimookigwe:Obiano is not fake, doesn’t play to the gallery like Peter Obi. He has already visited the scene and will be meeting with the victims tomorrow for compensation. That is fine |

CastedAyo:Opposition are always criticizing Obiano in the social media but you don't hear them say these things on the streets because they know they may be beaten by the masses for speaking against a working governor. Obiano visited the affected traders this morning and they were very excited to meet him. When he promised to compensate them before Christmas, they all shouted in joy and chants of 'Akpokue' filled the air. |

Harrynight:Do you even listen to yourself? So that Buhari is ruling badly should be an excuse to give other bad rulers a get out of jail free card? He is the elected Governor of Anambra State and the people have a right to hold him accountable for his actions and inactions.. |

MERCHANDISER:Your siblings don't agree or think so... For them, Buhari is the sole cause of their backwardness. |
| Re: Anambra Fire: Obiano Should Resign - Nigerians React by Evaromantik1(m): 11:38am On Oct 17, 2019 |
DarkJeddi:So this literally means that Obiano asked them not to show up then, or even told them not to fill their empty tanks as they alleged yesterday. The Governor doesn't control the fire department, he has someone that does that. That's person all these blames should be channeled to. Asking a Governor to resign over mere Fire Outbreak is PDPish |

MERCHANDISER:Did he go to the market where the fire wrecked damage or was he busy talking to the gutter at Upper Iweka? |

midnighter:Please, I'm still grieving over the incident that happened in onitsha, humans like you and I and that insensitive beast just lost their lives, properties and means of livelihood Even a fool knows when to use sarcasm, I just hate people who are insensitive to the plight of others. If he was affected, I don't think if he will ever remember that a word like 'sarcasm' ever existed You don't joke and laugh over everything. This can happen to anyone including that insensitive being. |

Evaromantik1:The Governor has the responsibility to make sure that there is a functional Fire Service in his State.. So yes the blame rests squarely on him first and foremost.. It is left for him to apportion blame as he sees fit.. Saying he should resign maybe a little bit on the extreme side but the blame starts with him.. |

Temptee101:You don't laugh and joke over everything, but crying doesn't necessarily solve everything either We can't continue like this...somebody needs to tell the harsh truth... will people keep dying needlessly and we will be crying?? There is a reason why in films, a drunkard, a mad person or a child is used to reveal things...because they just say it as it is I don't support his bad mouth but how long are we going to keep mourning people without cause |

I noticed a new trend from SE. When something happen over there and they need support they will caption it "Nigerians react". Is this the first petrol tanker fire in Nigeria? No. Why are Nigerians just reacting? Because Ibos need Nigerians sympathy. Imagine if they said instead SE reacts or Ibos react. No one will care. ![]() In my opinion the issue here is against Obiano, it should correctly have been captioned "Biafrans react". |
