There's something inherently wrong with the black man. Imagine, throughout the whole of your state there's no functional fire service department, the one that came all the way from another state to help you out, you're threatening to burn it down for 'coming late'!

Apart from former Finance Minister Kemi, who resigned over her her NYSC certificate scandal, how many politicians has resigned in Nigeria? Probably, because she came in from UK to join Politics here, all the certificate scandals that rocked our political sphere,how many more has resigned since? Instead, they keep going to court till their tenure is over.

Mark my word, in the next couple of days/weeks other events would have overtaken this fire incident and the victims will be on their own, no compensation plans,no fire service will be built inside the market,no government official will investigate inferno,nor even the casualties ,to pay them even visit, nobody will be held responsible ....Is that bad.


This is a wake up call to all the traders in Onitsha, if you reading this.Many of you there are well trained in different professions before you join trading, many of are well educated, you have graduates in your midst, many of you have trained far and wide in different parts of the world...You guys should ensure you have insurance policy in place for your buildings and wares,then get a space around the Iweka/Ochanja or even by old market road, build a standard modern fire service terminal there, with two fire fighting lorries, employ at least 10 guys to be working there. Collect the money from each shop to get this done,as you did in the the generator stuff to fix your electricity issues...do not wait for government .

Get your independent fire service now, to forestall future inferno. Save your investments and lives please.
