See wiith $120k u can get a house in the USA abi, but do u buy mikano, diesel, pay aboki, buy jeep cos of bad roads, and still sleep with one eyes open.

No comparison, ur $28k is far more meaningful in the USA than in naija.
So after buying the house in US for $120k and you now sleep with two eyes closed, no mikano, no diesel, no aboki and no need for jeep, you then send your kids to school and one small boy walks into the school one day and shoots indiscriminately and waste them or you go to the mall to buy sneakers and one angry man comes in and shoots indiscriminately or one olopa(cop) comes into your neighborhood and fires pointblank at you because he/she sees you standing by your window.

Every society get him own problems and wahala.

Where is the war zone exactly?
So naija crimes have become war zone?
People that have not witnessed community clash, will be shouting war zone, war zone.
I don’t blame guys, I blame the media.
When these people see two area boys fighting and breaking bottles on the road, they will take off shouting war zone, war zone. cheesy grin

Don't mind them. We are the ones giving ourselves bad publicity. My friend's cousin came to Nigeria with the believe that there is wahala everywhere. After staying 2 weeks without experiencing any violence; he was so surprised at how peaceful everywhere was. That was what changed his notion about Nigeria.

In USA/UK that someone will just enter a school with guns and start shooting pupils, we don't see that. Nigeria is better in this because our law makes it difficult to own a gun.

Has anyone been debited at GTBank? I have been debited but I am skeptical. It may be the secondary market and not primary. One because the rate is 12.4%, a little lower than what others from other banks said. Another reason is that it happened just this morning as against yesterday evening. They also charge a custody fee. I don't know if custody fee is charged on primary market investment.

Guy you just spoke my mind. I was debited about an hour ago. (Which is rare) and what I'm seeing is about 12.3.

Just wondering guys, when your Tbill mature and your capital is paid back into your account, in the process, are there any charges (e.g stamp duty) levied on the deposit by banks or directive from cbn?

Please urgent advice is needed.
So I decided to do Tbills and I went to fcmb to open an account to that effect. my acct no was given to me dat day, but do to my acct official is a family friend n also acct official to my family members. she started telling me stories abt my plan to invest on tbill, dat she will not advice me to so. So I abandoned d acct and switched over to stanbic.
At stanbic it took me a week and just to get my account number dat I hv to visit d bank on two occasions to know why my acct number is not yet out. I don't know if is cos I told my account official my plan to invest on tbill with d account or just protocol.
I finally got d acct number. so when I submitted my offer to d lady at the customer care whom I use to complain to when I was trying to gt my acct number, she started being dis unprofessional friendly. To the extent d day I went to collect my certificate, she started telling me dat I must hv their app on my phone. When I gav her my phone to install d app, she took a shot with my phone and even mandated me not to delete the pic and dat she will check it the next time I visit d bank.
Just dis evening I received a call from the lady dt opened the account for me which is my account official asking me of how she can locate my house. Saying dat the people dy sent to verify my address couldn't located my house, I told her I don't understand dat I hv not heard of address verification from my other banks and dat I will visit d bank tomorrow for clarification. she too me is not necessary dat she will come by her self to do the verification and to forward my address to the head office.
Seriously am not understanding anymore is all dis really still part of the banking process or should I be concern and pls what should I do?
pls., have u gotten ur cert ?I did wit dem too and all ds above apuns, d guy even come to my office so to d main matter, have u collect ur certificate or is it not neccssary

Are you also using Gtbank? Yes, it is 12.3% but a custody fee was charged. when I added the custody fee, it amounted to 12.4%.

Yesterday, banks across the country were given a directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria to cancel any customer requests for purchase of Treasury Bills at Primary or OMO auctions, if such customers are borrowing customers of such banks or those of other banks. This also includes those enjoying CBN intervention loans. We are not certain what the CBN plans to achieve with this directive but we believe it may not be unrelated to the CBN's recent efforts to promote lending to the real sector by commercial banks.

Yes every society has its problem, but u r comparing a random , difficult to control issue with blatant incompetence.

A mad man randomly shooting up a school is different from daily kidnapping, daily no light or no roads or evident insecurity. We see our wahala korokoro.....and do nothing to remedy it.

When 9/11 happened the govt rose up and made sure it never happens again. Hope u see the conscious effort the us govt is putting to stop random killing.and u must appreciate the delicate and impossible nature of such crimes. Pls what is delicate abt fiixing roads, getting steady power supply, good schools and hospitals.

Boko haram has a base, known territory and up till tomorrow they can not be stopped. Fulani herrdsmen are ravaging villages EVERYDAY, it's no random, I say EVERYDAY, and because the president is fulani, police cannot stop it once and for all.

If u soo loved ur country why did u leave in the first place.....

Exactly the point. People just keep asking absurd questions as if investing is an act of love or altruism.

US bonds rate is less than 2%. Investing in unstable economies is about timing. Get in and get out at the right time, and you'll make great returns. Nothing to do with patriotism.

I did not leave Nigeria o. I have been living in Nigeria since i was born. Primary, secondary and University education was here and have been working here since then. Do not have any intention to leave to US as iam not comfortable with the stories iam reading about the place and also the way of life iam reading about. Moreover, the US or Canada or UK will never allow everybody in Nigeria to leave here and move over there. Some people must remain for here. Imagine 150m Nigerians moving to US or Canada or UK?. cheesy
