Mum-in-law may be a confused feminist. The woman really loved her husband.

I don't know what to say, the young man may even be regretting why he didn't listen to the mother. Until then, I remain loyal to almighty God who knows answer to all

I don't know why, but my pity for her dropped by 50% when I got to 'my landlord gave us quit notice' ' your son is out of school' part. Woman what have you been doing with your life when your husband was alive? Probably a housewife!. So a woman can't take care of a child herself?

That said, please never belittle the opinion or words of your boyfriend's or fiancé's mother. They matter a lot, make peace with them and be sure you are accepted before you say YES. A woman can influence a Nation against or in support of you. Be wise!
What do you mean by what has she been doing ❓

Some thing the both of them are doing is now left for her, what do you expect, even if she is working

From your statement, it shows that you have not gotten any experience

Fathers do not even have that kind of hold on their sons to start with. They are most times alone in their old age, fighting for the attention of their kids and the mother too.
Any thing that got to do with men
Your always quick to react

Are you a man hater or what

Or you just sad

She should have walked away before the marriage. I am Igbo by tribe but from my knowledge/experiences with our traditions, we are a very complicated tribe. Sorry for her loss. Terrible, so terrible mother-in-law.

Here is a warning to everybody especially females; until his parents accept you WHOLE HEARTEDLY, please remain single. If his parents know you make him happy but still do not want him to marry you, please respect yourself, place a value on your own life and happiness.

African and their belief of someone killed somebody. I do not say that there are no witches or evil eyes but the way our people attach every unfortunate incident to them makes one ask if there is Destiny or not?

While I pity you and pray God to come to your aid, I advise you stop this, undoubtedly, your late husband would not be happy to read that you are tarnishing image of his mother.

Fathers and Men have a code of ethics that governs them, it's why most men can get along without having to know each other, which is what I believe doesn't exist when it comes to women, a woman will easily throw another under the bus for a man. That sisterhood isn't that strong as it is being built to be now, I know many will take offence at this statement , but this is what I perceive it to be, unless someone can elaborately put it in a way that would make more sense to me.

And Some foolish and myopic people will believe her.
Which mother will kill her only son because she didn't marry the woman of her choice?
It would have been understood if it was the son accusing his mom of killing his wife because it wasn't her choice.

She's just looking for who she will extort money from, it's a pity she just have to drag her dead husband into it

Some mother in laws are something else.

And yes, ITS A WOMAN THING!

The type of resentment women have for themselves in instances they are are supposed to be of great support is alarming.

Nor be Una fault. Na we men dey fall our hands by ourselves. Bros Jay don give us d 411, na we dey do sronghead all because of (papapata) 10 mins 'pleasure'.

Matthew 19:10-12 (KJV)
His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

But he (Jesus) said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

That why it's good for a lady to join secret society after marriage

If she had gone into convenant with the Mother's that own Earth, all this wouldn't have happened.

But at a time, she should not point accusing fingers as a novice. Her mother inlaw could be innocent.

Some people just have mouth but are empty.

I will honour you with a reponse. The deal is the woman missed the husband because of the responsibilities he shouldered while he was alive. Is that what the fate of a man should be? just a burden bearer? Why can't be missed for other reasons aside what he offers?

What woman watches her own son drop out of school and then blame it on the death of her husband? Whatever happens to changing his school if the one he attends is too expensive for her. If that woman was financially independent when her husband was alive, things wouldn't have been so bad for her.

Madam kpele.

God will help you through this season.

But on a serious note; don't you think we should try to know why wives and mother in-laws are mostly at war.
Rarely, would you hear father in-law wahala?

What is wrong with women as people?
They fight men, they fight themselves.

I tire jareee undecided
@bolded.

A retired LovePeddler will never allow her son to marry. When she remember how she destroyed men she is scared shitless about what other women will do to her own sons.

Thanks so.much for this.. Your mother in law to be doesnt like you and was 'nice' enough to tell you and you still went ahead forcing yourself into that family? She just like suffer. Shey she don see am.

As for me , i don't need to be told. Mere having a cold feeling around them is just enough for me to go my way. Wisdom demands that she would have just left them in 'peace' after all the young man is her son..so they can handle their issues without me

I think aside the terrorialism, there is also this power most people give to their mothers. If the power isn't there, there is really nothing much the mother can do than bicker- but we know that is often not the case.

Lots of you guys will always say "my mother first, my mother this...that". Creating unnecessary rivalry, yet you don't want them to fight? Have you ever dated a core daddy's girl? Guys avoid those girls, because they don't wanna deal with the unnecessary competition. However, they put their wives through same by words and actions.

People should learn to separate the love of a mother and wife.

Wow! Gather yourself together maami, dont let him down. Don't let his kid suffer. How could you, his partner, be alive without means to take care of his/your child's education? Please, enough of the mopping, continue where he stopped. Young you...evicted, child out of school. It is well.

To me, the lady bit more than she could chew. People know how conservative igbo's are and the huge roles mothers play in marriages but when you choose to ignore all warnings for your gains then you should be ready to face consequences.

And to even think she's indirectly accusing the mother of killing her son? Sigh!

Parents should learn to free their kids abeg. You brought them, but allow them to settle down with who their heart yearns for.

Well, when you have good spirit, expect hate and enmity from people with unclean and evil spirit.
Maybe the mother-in-law already saw death for her son if he married the woman and that was why she was against it in the first place.

See now, the man is dead. No woman will kill the son because he married someone she doesn't like.

The story is from the perspective of the woman.

Who knows what really happened?

Well the issue is with the women who want to show I owe him , that's where the power struggle comes from. The Father in laws will be busy drinking , reading his newspaper or having fun with his mistress. Yet again I never understand the mother in law, wife fight it's pointless.
