Coming from a man who said that Job's riches wasn't secured because he didn't tithe. And yet God made Job the richest man in the east, but him that tithes and emphasizes tithing as the Pharisees did, had not been made the richest man in his own state, talk less of this part of the world?

Job 1:3 (KJV)

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

And mind you, Job's riches was not because he accumulated riches to himself as Oyedepo is currently doing, because Job was well known to be a distributor of riches:

Job 29:15-16 (KJV)

16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

But despite that Job didn't accumulate riches to himself, he was yet the richest man in that part of the world to illustrate the distinctive extent to which God had blessed him, which made his example a strong case for helping the poor and needy to all the peoples of that part of the world.

So let Oyedepo keep buying as much private Jets as he wants, but as long all his riches combined pales in comparison with the likes of Dangote in this part of the world who don't tithe, it would hard for him to convince people in this parts of the world that there is anything special about his riches and hence tithing, but that it's just because he is laying up treasures for himself on Earth as opposed to distributing it to the poor and needy as Jesus had taught us and his disciples had done.

Luke 12:33 (KJV)

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

So unless tithing clearly distinguishes him from those who didn't tithe as the Jobs of that world and the Dangotes of this world, but just make him to be just a poor version of them, truth is the case he makes for tithing would remain very weak.

God bless.

My issue is not with the helicopter he acquired but the state of suffering of members of his church and Nigerians in general. If all churches can come together and help the masses, we could do more than this dysfunctional government. There were best houses and means of transportation in the olden days and Jesus didn't acquire any. Nowadays, it's a lot different. Even at that, men of God should help the poor

He built an Estate recently that payment is spread over a 30 year span. He constructed a road and how many kilowatts available for 24/7 Power supply.

Wow! The wonders of the ignorant. You are quite intellectual but sadly ignorant on the subject matter you have chosen to write about. If only the church could make public its countless humanitarian acts and programs, I'm sure you will speak differently. This is besides the giant efforts the bishop makes on his own outside the church.
Even after quoting all these bible verses, your thinking is that a tither should be "richer" than or have more cash that's an unbeliever/non christian ? A person who understands the truth about tithing and walks in that truth, lacks nothing needed, not necessarily that he should have a spot on forbes list. Your understanding of the benefits of tithing is wrong. I better stop here

Oyedepo and the many likes are clowns. They will drown in there material push.

They want to be prophets so they will not be touch and make clowns prohetic declarations. They want to be priest so they can receive tithes. They want to be evangelist. So they can fly the tour the most beautiful citie in the world. Paul ask can all be prohets? Healers, pastor? Notice they hardly travel the ghetto or poor regions or war ravished places. Just canada., america and any other good places.

I do not respect them. in an Africa or Nigeria with so much poverty. They have no right to accumulate so much for themselves.

Only pentecostal Christians have this ordacity among spiritual leaders to aquire material wealth.occult leaders will be powerful but poor. The followers can have so much money but they will be still be control by them. Why? it's not possible to be spiritual and material at the same time. It's two opposing realms. The more one gain in spiritual knowledge the more he or she becomes less interested in the physical. And the more one gains in the physical the more he or she becomes less interested in the spiritual. The the chief priest rely on gift items so does the native doctor..so does the monks in the temple. Pentecostal priest swim in intense materialism.

To all those that claim Muslims don't pay tithes and not billed in the mosque, I have seen it in EVERY mosque that I have passed by.
They painted the wall on the left or right hand side in black and write everyone's payment alongside name.
So, everyone knows if you are defaulting.
On their festivals, they take offering bowls to the roadside to collect offering from passersby.
Muslims don't pay tithe but zakat which is once in a year and it's not for every Muslim. I mean the poor r excluded, before u pay it u must value ur income for a year, the worth will determine ur qualification and its not calculated in percentage, its 1/40 .the board or chart u see on the mosque wall is for monthly contribution of pple in that area and its not compulsory.many pple pay it without having their names written there.mind u the money is not going to anybody's pocket it's for mosque recurrent expenditure like generator maintenance and others.they also collect money to pay school fee

Sorry sir, but I'd say no to that. Don't accept everything you're told from the pulpit even if coming from a respected man. Do your own study and work with your findings. First off, my comment is not for or against tithing but just for the record sake. Job had one of the most oustanding profiles of men in scripture. Job 1: 1 said clearly that he was perfect (blameless) and straight which is as far as anyone could get with God outside of grace. Blameless means there was no point you could fault his life because he made all necessary intercession ( sacrifice for sin) and met all requirements of God. If tithing put Job in that situation, it would have taken repentance by tithing to get him out. But understand that Jobs problem was that he was blameless which Satan had to challenge to prove that no one really loved God for nothing (selflessly). Book of Job was written to help believers expect testings from Satan as they live to prove their selfless love and devotion to God and how God would eventually reward them if they hold out through the tests. James 5: 10-11. So, no, it had nothing to do with tithing else Satan would have accused Job of that before God.

The Prosperity Gospel: A Determined Assault On Biblical Christianity
"The teaching that God is waiting for you to give Him something so He can give back to you is from the devil. It renders useless the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. It makes God into a hustler and changes the focus of godliness from true holiness and forgiveness of sins to material and financial gains. It brings in your works as the cause of your blessings.

It could not have come from the Spirit of the God of the Bible. Whatever spirit the prosperity gospel people call on is NOT God’s Holy Spirit."
https://www.thetruechristianfaith.com/2017/06/23/the-prosperity-gospel/

2 Peter 2:3
King James Version
"And through covetousness shall they (false prophets/false teachers) with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."
New Living Translation
"In their greed they (false prophets/false teachers) will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed."

2 Corinthians 11 King James Version (KJV)
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

A close reading of 2 Corinthians chapter 11 reveals how Satan’s ministers (yes, Satan has his own ministers or "men of god"!) disguise themselves as an angel or preacher of light. Satan is the god of this world.

2 Corinthians 4:4 King James Version (KJV)
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Oh what a succinct explanation. Much respect! This exactly how it is in the Bible.
These brainwashed folks won't agree even if Jesus himself came down to explain to them, they are worshippers of men, but they know not.
jesusjnr:
Lol!

The more you speak, then more you sound as the pharisees who derided Jesus for calling out their covetous and mammon worshipping ways, for they also said Jesus had a demon, so I can understand your grouse.

The extent of your resolve to defend the blatant heresy made by your blind leader that Job's riches wasn't secured because he didn't tithe, proves that you're not who you really think you are, but just a blind being led by the blind.

For there's no place in the Bible where such a thing was ever stated or even insinuated, and this was what the devourer himself said to God:

Job 1:10 (KJV)

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

So if Satan the devourer even knew that he was rebuked for Job's sake, where could such an idea have emanated from, but from the pit of hell?

But it's well obvious that what happened to Job exceeds the tithing level that both you and your mentor are, otherwise you'd know that God just wanted to prove Satan wrong concerning His servant Job, and that it had absolutely nothing to do with Job not tithing, for Job's level pass tithing level.

That was why once God had achieved that, He doubled what Job had initially without Job having to tithe, and who born the devourer to touch what Job had after that?

But of course, when people are obsessed with tithing as the pharisees, they would say just about anything just to get people tithe as that heresy.
