Are they paying taxes in the first place? They have been taking the advantage of free trade zone among the Africa countries to short-changed Nigeria. The worse is most products are not even produced in all these Africa countries. They sometimes imported them into their countries paid import duty to their countries and find ways to smuggling the same goods to Nigeria.
its a lie

Them go switch to another brand...
A lot of Nigerians do not have brand loyalty, that is new new brands and products easily penetrate the market if they are cheaper than the alternatives

I agree with you. Just open another forum now and give free recharge card to every registered user you will be amazed the wide exodus that will happen to nairaland. grin

The impact will be seen in the nearest future when Nigerians start producing and stop the over dependency on imported products. The border closure is 100% for our own benefit.

Very correct. Necessity is the mother of invention.

It lead to this one again in 2019.Oh and Ghana will soon retaliate and when that happens,we don't want to see any protest and crying to ECOWAS like a baby again. That protest happened because we just closed some few 400 businesses of Nigerians in just one spare parts town in another city called Kumasi.Imagine the outcome of crying and cursing had we closed our borders and all the millions of Nigerians living in Ghana and doing businesses. You would have protested to the UN crying that Ghana is causing genocide on your people, lol.Pray we do not retaliate.

Chally , are not stupid comparing Ghana to Nigeria ?

go to the map and take a look at Ghana , it looks like a lane . like a Small penis !

What about raw materials?

Raw material will be soured from where they source it from. Most of out existing industries like innoson, they source their materials abroad. When the industries is set up, our jobs will be restored.

Set what up here?

Do you know the trade deficit Ghana has with Nigeria?

The number of Nigerians benefitting in Ghana alone is enough to offset what Kasapreko is gaining. FG should give concession to some countries like Ghana before retaliatory acts start to occur.
They can't retaliate. They will lose more if dey do so. Just like America, if a country relatiates on America, dey will inflict more punisment on dem.

This govt.is a coward and a lazy lame duck.
Unfortunately, most Nigerians don't think deep enough so we praise govt.when they take some decisions without proper scrutiny.
Why cant the govt. close the ports and ban the importation of refined petroleum so our refineries can produce refined petroleum products and sell to the public! This is what they should do if they really mean business!
Closing the land borders is fighting the poor traders. They should close the sea ports as well, and let's see of the govt. can withstand the money-bags!

We should ask other foreign companies how they thrive without light. I am not in support of the present situation in the country. But have to live, somehow, anyhow
