Senate President Proposes Inclusion Of Anti-corruption Teaching In School by ManirBK(op): 5:12pm On Oct 23, 2019
President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, has called for the introduction of anti-corruption teaching in schools.
Lawan gave the suggestion in Abuja on Tuesday while declaring open the third EFCC National Capacity Building Workshop for Justices and Judges in collaboration with the National Judicial Institute.
He said, “We should start educating our children in schools, basic education secondary level and even tertiary level, on the ills of corruption in any society.
“Therefore, it is a task that requires that we review the current curricula of our basic education particularly to include something like what corruption means, the ills and the responsibility on every citizen to be part and parcel of the fight against this scourge.”
Lawan who reassured the EFCC and ICPC of total support from the senate in the fight against corruption, also pointed out the need for the police to be involved with the fight against corruption.http://saharareporters.com/2019/10/23/senate-president-proposes-inclusion-anti-corruption-teaching-school-curriculum?fbclid

It will be of no use, because they and their children are the ones ought to be taught on the effect of corruption. Why because they are the ones working in these agencies that deals with money. So sad their children are not studying there in Nigeria's own secondary schools. They take them abroad to study there, right from secondary school up to the higher institutions.

The senate should start the teaching of corruption by first eradicating corruption in the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary by making established and proven without doubt and political affiliation corruption issues a capital offense punishable by death without any option of fine.
It should start from the leaders before it's taken to the schools and society in general.

Please, the teaching will be more efficient, effective if you guys show the example from your various home. No curriculum can change the orientation that is played out in our public domain, however you have a fundamental right to have an opinion.

I would rather we teach them corruption. This can be helpful to check the menace. Teaching them the "Anti" aspect only makes them to dig more for themselves.

Just imagine what Civic Education's Drug Abuse, Cultism, and Biology's Reproductive System has done

you don't teach people on anti- corruption & expect corruption to stop rather you create systems/laws and authorities that automatically eliminate compromise, corrupt tendencies & eschew justice. Nigeria are corrupt today majorly because the system had made it so.majority of we the youths grew up in societies where families use corruption to survive, we grew to percieve the police & Nepa as corrupt, alot of youths today grew through the ranks via exam malpractice which has been modified, standardized & even most is aided by parents and everyone now sees it as normal all this are system failures & until deliberate efforts are made to creates systems that can fight corruption in terms of technology, justice, good governance & insecurity no teaching on anti-corruption that will work, what is the difference between one studying accounting in school and he or she will still come to the government & misapproprate funds ? what is the difference between a lawyer who knows the truth of law but still lies?

This same man whose senate is insulting the sensibility of Nigerians with the #5.5M cars talking about anti-corruption?
These Senate members of the NASS are simply greedy & insatiable in each democratic dispensation.
