Mikel would have been a prodigy in his own right but his management's greed just messed him up when he went to a club that played negative football at that time. If Mikel had gone to Manchester United he would have progressed the way Ronaldo did.
I wish Liverpool can buy this Ebere guy. God knows we lack creativity in our midfield. This guy will fit in perfectly.
like how ihenacho has progressed abi u guys keep repeating this shit line Mikel would have been wasted had he gone to Man Utd... why did zaha not last at Man Utd...?? what about Anderson...

My brother no matter what you do, you can't cheat nature. Nigerian players brought up in foreign countries do not have this problem since birth records are well documented. I sincerely believe the introduction of MRI to youth football has really saved Nigerian football. Back to the examples you listed, Osaze Odemwingie is the only Nigerian player, raised in Nigeria, that played football with his real age. That also reflected in his game during the waning part of his career, as he started aging. Nigerian footballers do not last more than 7 years as you stated because they are age cheats. Prior to MRI, oshimhen, Ihenacho, chukwueze would have been playing under 17 football now ( and would probably look the age!!!). We have to concentrate on more long term benefits than being seduced by immediate gains of shortcuts.
MRI only check bones isn't reliable as u think... did Stanley okoro not Pass MRI test.. 2009 captain under 17 who pass MRI test was confirmed by adokiye amaisiemeka to be over Age... who told u naija players don't last beyond 7 years... okocha played from 93 til 2006...mikel played from 2006 til 2019... enyeama played from2002 til he was forced out by oliseh 2014 he could have stayed longer... age cheat still de it might not be to pronounced but then talent is key... ikpeba only removed 4 years from real age did he play forever... yes those guys abroad have a good system but person wey no get talent even if na real age nothing's go comot

HE IS NOT A GOOD FOOTBALLER - HE IS JUST A FANCY FOOTBALLER.

its not about dribbling.

its all about scoring goals. whats the essence of dribbling without achieving the ultimate purpose - scoring goals!

HE CANT BE COMPARED TO OKOCHA IN ANY WAY AT ALL!

OKOCHA DRIBBLES AND SCORE GOALS - THAT'S WHAT MAKES A LEGEND.

Okocha is one of the unproductive dribblers and footballers you can talk about. I guess you started watching Okocha towards the end of his career when he started getting a lil serious.

This guy just scored 2 goals in a match.

Hmm, I really do understand your view and it's the sacred fact, lots of Nigerian talents have fade away like tears in the rain..

You see youth football in Nigeria has produced a conveyance belt of talents that helped the country reach dizzying heights

From winning the FIFA U-17 World Cup a record five times to winning the gold at the 1996 Olympics and the Africa Cup of Nations on three occasions, Nigeria have always been the envy of many African nations and beyond when it comes to talent..

And you know the reason why ? The crazy zeal, and hunger-driven passion to make it to Europe to seal a lucrative deal and secure their future.

Just as they shone through the bright shiny lights of paparazzi same as they dim off like slowly and forgotten. This comes with a lots of factors AGE FALSIFICATION, INDISCIPLINE, GREED, and other factors worth mentioning..

But reverse is the case when you have players who are born in Europe and grows through academy ranks. OSAZE is a good example, he played and bowed out at the right time..

Iwobi is following same steps, same as NDIDI who is stepping up his game week in week out.

We have raw talents who can makes MESSI and Ronaldo go jealous but the a 35-year old man who has bore 3 kids will still participate in U17 World Cup and he will use his strength + HUNGERIZED -ZEAL to bully the innocent kids and rise up as a rising Star and we start the hypocritical hyping and alas he will fade off in 3 years when his bone are calling shots for retirement..

Plus, it doesn't just applies to Nigeria alone, where are the likes of Freddy Adu, Pato, Owusu Abieye, Giovanni dos Santos, Adam Johnson, et all.

Like Pele once said : Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.

BTW, where's LALASTICLALA when you need him

my brother I agree with you wella.
Though I must add that including Pato in that list is a bit unfair. na injuries kill d guy career.
And Adam Johnson knack a 15 year old geh, come go jail for i think 7 years.

You are partly right. The MRI checks for fusion of epiphyseal growth plates of joints that occur in boys usually from ages 15-17. Like all tests, there would be false negatives. My point however is that the test gives pause to anyone who intends on playing for the youth under 17, especially if they are falsifying thier age. Gone are the days when old men would bully genuine 16 year old talents from other countries under the guise of prodigious talent. Of course, in a couple of years when those same bullied boys come of age, you find that the old men cannot match up to them. Post MRI under 17 has given the Super Eagles genuine talent that can stand the test of time ( chukwueze, osimhen, ihenacho and co come to mind). Our zest for trophies at all cost in competitions, that is of no major significance in the grand scheme of things, almost ruined the Super Eagles.

pre MRI gave us kanu, babayaro, oruma, fatusi, ikpeba, akporue, ugbade so forget it ndidi failed MRI 2013 but today ihenacho who passed it is struggling in Leicester... MRI is not efficient..we need a working system to spot and reward great talents or else this issues ll still be there...

This lad will complement aribbo and iwobi in the midfield,he can also be played on the flanks, best to let him come from the left flank and chukwueze to operate from the right with osimen at the front, that one will be the most deadly front line to come out of africa

He's good but he plays in a farmer's league. Plus, the clip shows a dummy opposition; like one sent out to make him look good.

I am ALWAYS skeptical when Nigerian soccer players are hyped, regardless of where they are grown. It tends to fade pretty fast as they most likely cave in in the face of pressure.

1. Where is 'little Messi' Okoro today?
2. Nigerians ranted when Messi was awarded ahead of Mikel in the u20 world cup. Today, the results are there for all to see.
3. Where's Iheanacho today despite all the hype?

To be candid, I stopped being freak about Nigerian talents a long time ago. It is true they always come out brilliant but give them 7 years tops, and you'd see a different player, far from the previous.

Till tomorrow, the only Nigerian players I regard are Osaze Odemwingie, Obafemi Martins, a bit of Taye Taiwo, and Ahmed Musa. If you are not consistent and play at a certain level for a longer period, you are as good as being forgotten.

The world today does not remember Luiz Adriano despite his incredible power and talent.

You are who I thought.

This is arrant nonsense. Please develop soccer league in Nigeria to the level Argentine. The manner of development of soccer Africa is mad joke in comparison with those in Europe or even South America. Just look at the soccer in USA today. The folly of Africans is their moronic ability to criticize their own when the developing process is next to nothing in Africa.

Dude hasn't made up his mind to play for Nigeria.

I hope to see Ovie Ejaria in the Super Eagles set up soon.
