Ha, this serious o. I always tell people, scammers are schemers, they always have plan. It's you that needs to wake up.

And the guy rushed to nairaland to call someone scammer. He just burned a very useful bridge. We take friendship for granted most time.

maynation, may God continue to protect you. Honesty and having good heart in Nigeria makes one vulnerable. Thank God you dodge a bullet.

I wonder why some are still insulting her

Maynation, I applaud you on being exceptionally kind. You simply showed love which is a character that's expected of every human. Sadly, it didn't turn out well.

We all have our experiences. True. Albeit, I would plead that this shouldn't discourage you from continuing in your display of love and kindness to every human you come across, irrespective of gender, tribe, religion or race. We are all humans first before any other thing.

I must add quickly that you should be careful. Inviting a "stranger" to your home was a bit risky. Maybe in the future, you should adopt safer methods.

To you "guys" stereotyping Nigerian females, you can now see that there are females that suffer discomfort because of you makes? You can now see that there are females that give money to you males without expecting any particular favour? Next time, before you make blanket statements remember that your mothers and sisters fall in the category of Nigerian females.

The brother should be ashamed of himself. He should apologize to you in public.

Really, how some commenters turn this against the OP is baffling, to say the least.

Yeah I was foolish but then it was all out of my good heart for real.

He looked to me like a honest innocent man and the only way I felt I could help when he needed it was through the accommodation.

I have learnt many lessons from this, after all nobody wise pass and we still all learn as each day passes by.
Reading through your chats, I immediately recognised the hotel format for what it was. Seems you didn't. And might still not recognise other formats in future.

Quick question pls. If you were staying in a self contain, would you still have accommodated him? Are you that nice (or naive) or you banked on your neighbors and gateman for additional security?

I don't know if I would have accommodated him tho.

In my chat with him there was a point where I jokingly said he could leave with my gadgets in his bag but no way he could leave with bigger things.

Why? Because even before his arrival I have already discussed his coming with security men.
And all eyes were on him.

More reason why I wasn't really bothered about my properties, my life was what I will say I joked with.

So yes I seriously banked on them security men.

I have learnt my lessons already.
This is most important.... don't ever ignore warning signs. He has a big contract .... but travelling for two weeks to hopefully contest for it? ... travelling but not knowing where to stay? ... can afford two week stay but clueless about getting data? ...and borrowing money for same?...N1K? You not living in a one room?...and single?... back to Plan A... borrow money...pay back quickly with interest... impress paying back is not a problem... set up for the kill.... either get your bank account details (locked room hurdle)... or big investment scheme... both failed... he mad. Consider yourself lucky he didn't jam a knife at your throat... force you to give him the details... then slit your throat....and disappearing. Again..... never ignore warning signs or gut feelings.
Some men are really dogs.... but few are exceptions... the ones you can trust with all your heart.... like me for example..... sooo calm and honest and gentle like a lion lamb. So now that the beast has gone and the guest room is empty.... and I have to be in your area for a conference.... is it possible that ehmmmm......can we talk privately??
