But ever since since the West decided to make a pivot to Africa, starting with NATOs bombardment and setting up of bases, the continent has been irreversibly damaged. In under a decade Africa has overtaken the Middle East as the terrorist capital of the world. The deadliest terror group In the world is African. The more foreign military presence the worse Africa's security situation has been.

Today the following countries are in turmoil:

Nigeria
Cameroon
Niger
Mali
Burkinafaso
Chad
Egypt
Libya
Sudan
Central Africa Republic
Kenya
Uganda
Ethiopia
Somalia

Most of the countries you listed{especially Somalia, Uganda, CAR, Sudan, Chad, northern Nige and, Mali} have always been in turmoil. At least since the 20th century. Those things did NOT start today as you said. If you are conversant with modern African history, then you will understand what I am talking about.

And you know that when lawlessness festers for a long time unattended to, a lot of actors with certain motives begin to creep in to take advantage of the situation. Examples are the likes of Somalia and Northern Mali. The conflict and terrorism ravaging the North of Mali have their roots as far back as the 1960s and 70s in the Tuareg rebellions but due to the fact that they were left unattended to over the decades, fast forward to 2011/2012, things had to come to a head and today we are witnesses to the chaos rocking that part of the world leading many to think that these things started today.

And I need not explain to you what happened in Somalia. I believe that you should be fully aware.

And did you say Kenya and Ethiopia are in "turmoil" C'mon, OP. Let's get serious.

A MILITARY BASE entails the the leasing of land to station aircraft, ground crew, hundreds or thousands of personnel and other military equipment.

Another important thing is : Many African countries are asking for Russian military presence due to what NATO did in Libya, and Syria. It is the same reason why North Korea does not trust the West on
de-nuclearisation. The Korean regime does not want to end like the Saddam Hussein regime.
Back to Africa ,if those countries do not ask for Russian presence, the West.will use proxies such as radical Muslims ( Boko Haram , al qaeda, ISIS etc) to attack them and force their governments to ask for France , the US, the UK to come in for help.
Once the West steps in , it will draw a new map , secure the areas that have the most natural resources, plunder those resources and continue funding terror groups.
It is what is going on in Mali right now.
. It was the reason why Obama refused to sell weapons to Nigeria because he wanted Nigeria to call NATO (mainly France and the US ) in for help.
