Hello,

So before I got married I applied for a study visa a while back and was denied. Reason was generic "I'm not sure you will leave Canada after your studies and Employment situation"( I had an online company which crashed eventually after a while).

I was also working somewhere then as an Admin Officer earning a meagre sum in cash but in my TRV application I used my online company as work experience that was before it crashed.

Now I want to create my EE profile but I'd like to claim points with the place I was working then. It will give me 3years exactly as my online business.

I don't know what to do because I'd let them know that I was denied a visa while filling the form. They'd likely go through my TRV application because it should still be the same UCI number during background check and my work experience won't match.

Please what do I do guys cos I can't disappoint my spouse. I have to make this work at least for my spouse.

Thank you for you advice.

Thank you. I'll do my best.

Aunty, I think you need to up your concentration level.
Maybe practice the test in a noisy place. That way, you tend to block out the noise and focus better

You may want to scribble down stuff as you listen especially in the map questions.

With questions that have options consider eliminating possible wrong options as you listen.

Don't get get too bothered, you are good. You have been passing the more difficult ones like writing and reading with ease.

My thoughts.

All the best.

The only strategy in listening is to listen. Just don’t over think it let it flow take ur mind off any other thing for that 30mins. I’ll advice you practice practice especially in a noisy place like an eatery or your sitting room with the tv on. That’s what I did till I could get 36/37. You need to get 35 in listening to get an 8 so whatever you do you can only afford to fail 5 questions. Incase you miss one don’t let that distract you keep on with the rest.Hopefully this helps.

Hello house

My crs currently peaks at 420 with a bachelor's degree, a PR sibling, over 3 years experience and potentially good IELTS score.
Please how do I increase my crs score through education or any other route?

You can do the French exam or enroll in one of the short courses that have been discussed in the thread, just search smiley

I am going for French too and yes it will be evaluated positively by ICES or CES. WES will just give you one semester at best so use ICES. It might take a bit longer but it's definitely worth it.

just provide an explanation why you omitted it. E.g wrong advice, ignorance, mistake, agent etc. Paid in cash too may even raise eyebrows if the job actually existed . Attach other proofs like id card, offer letter etc

Spot on!

You already have a good command of English Language. I suppose the issue here is CONCENTRATION - within and without the text and speech.

Increase your practice before you register for any further exams and be sure you max scores at practice test.

God is on your side...

Happy Sunday House.

Trying to gather necessary docs. Clarifications on work reference letters

Will there be any issue(s) if i don't attach my spouse's reference letters. She is totally not in favor of getting her employer or supervisor involved as 'they don't wish their staff well' (her words) undecided undecided.

As for me; Is it fine if i attach reference letter from my previous employer alone where i spent 5 years 5 months or I MUST add reference letter from my present employer where i spent 1 year 3 months. Same NOC.

Thanks everyone.

Only PA needs to submit work references he/she is claiming points for.

Go to page 1 and digest all the information and links there.

Points to note when answering this type of questions:

• Read the question and circle the speaker the question is about.

For example, the recording for the section could involve two students (Mark and Linda) and their Tutor(name might be withheld)

1. Which reason did Linda give that stopped the class from holding?

• the second question might be about Mark or about both students.

For example,
2. What reason did Mark and Linda give that stopped the class from holding?
• you have to listen to the reason they both agreed on because Mark might give a reason that Linda disagreed about and vice-versa.

• Another question could be about the Tutor.

The key is to listen to who said what.

All the best.

Getting an additional degree is better. Short courses like CIMA, UNILAG HRDC, BCS will do. Having two years experience is the same point with having a one year experience under the comprehensive ranking system

Please do you have idea about BCS

Hmmm just like others have said, its total concentration you need. I had similar experience and i fully understand the frustration attached to this. Just practice more and discover the section(s) where you fail often. I won’t lie to you, you are good just have that at the back of your mind. I believe you will get through.

Sometimes they don’t send the mail on time. If it’s past 6 days your result is most likely out. Go to their office and pick the hard copy if you’re impatient or u could wait till they send the mail. You will be directed from the mail how to check the result. Good luck!!!

In recent times, they have not stuck to their 5/6day policy.

For perspective, my husband wrote on the 12th of October, I started checking online from 17th, the email didn’t come until the 21st morning about 7am and that’s when we were able to check online.

I went to their Ikoyi office that day at 12pm and the hard copy wasn’t even ready yet until about 3pm - they had to print as I waiting because I was putting pressure.

So sadly, @PucciGuru you might have to wait, or you can try your luck by going there if you wish.

The recent agitation regarding the unexplained delays experienced by applicants whose files ended up in Accra VO is in order in my own opinion. While some restraints is expected in the choice of words when expressing one's frustration at the pace of process, expressing such constraint is well within the right of the applicants.

Firstly, Canada Express entry is an immigration opportunity that is symbiotic in nature. Economic immigrants after expending a fortune on their education and acquisition of skills relevant to the Canadian economy are offering these skills in exchange for an enabling environment available in Canada. I think Canada needs economic immigrants as much as the immigrants need her and economic immigrant aren't refugees with minimal rights. I know the present poor economic situation of third world countries like Nigeria is placing us at their mercy but that doesn't mean that we don't have right to ask questions when we feel we aren't being treated fairly.

An immigrant expending an average of $15,000 to $25,000 should have a right to know the progress of his/her application and shouldn't be kept in the dark for years while leaving his/her life in a balance. Most applicants can't make any quality decision regarding their future when the application is on. $15000 to $25000 is no small money in any economy even in Canada.

Although IRCC promised that 80% of application will be completed within 6 months, most applications in Accra has average between 8 and 14 months which is unacceptable in my own view. We are coming with our money and expertise to grow Canada and so we have to be respected too. Has anyone stand to think of it that 100,000 people coming into Canada with $20,000 each is a lot of money for their economy too?

I know our background in Nigeria has made a lot of us a little scared to voice our dissatisfaction because of usual intimidation we often suffer from our government, I think Canada is a more egalitarian society that accommodate the voices of everyone whether positive or negative. Therefore, we shouldn't be scared to express our concerns to the Canadian authorities in a civil and matured manner if we feel dissatisfied with the pace of the process. Time is life!!!

You have no right whatsoever to Express your concern to the Canadian government, they didn't force you to apply for their program in as much as they need economic immigrants, 80% of applications get ppr on or before 6 months? The other 20% get 8-14months later, so you are among the latter, did you credit their account with your pof?

you gotta roll with the punches of their process, slow or fast, they have the right to pick the best economic immigrants for their country, so before applying for their so called Express Entry knowing they may put your file in Accra, you should get you get you ducks in a row, have a plan A, B,C...don't put all your eggs in one basket because they might reject your application, so whatchu gon do? Sue them for not letting you into their country? cool shebi your pof is still in your account? So why the fuss? They will give you your ppr or not... Y'ALL STOP COMPLAINING AND GET BUSY ALREADY, URRGGH... angry

Hi Everyone..
I'm new on this platform and this is my first post here.
I'm already overwhelmed by the truckload of information disseminated here on the Canada immigration paroles.
I can't wait to tell my success story like many others told theirs..

My score is quite low for EE (Bsc. Holder, Married, 29yrs, 1yr Work Experience)
My question is I'll like to know the easiest certification course to take in order to boost my crs score. I learnt there are quite a no of options..
Thank you.
.

BCS proved very useful for me. I wrote in March and got my certificate in June. It also improved my CRS point. Since I am above the age threshold, I am still writting IELTS hoping to get the highest CLB.
My point is, try to write BCS exams. It is IT based but very easy to pass if you use a tutor since I did not have an IT background. I am a graduate of Library and Archival Studies.
If you need further advice, you can contact me or visit their website.
