It was earlier reported today that water hyacinth has taken over the Ikorodu Water Terminal which makes it difficult to boats to navigate the waters.

We have it on good authority that the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has commenced clearing of the water hyacinth. Pegging of the ferry route channel commenced last week and manual clearing has already started at the Ipakodo terminal also called Ikorodu Terminal.

They should use equipment ambode purchased with Lagos tax payer money in 2016 to clean. I know we lack maintenance culture in this part of the world. May be they have resold the equipment
