The former minister of Defense during his tenure once said they where interested in MIGs and yak130.i wonder why it should be MI35M again.Or is the NAF trying to avoid buying from different sources.. I'm still studying their 10year strategic plan.30% Has been Achieved.(Increase number of pilots,Geospatial Unit, Adequate housing units for personnel, Adequate medical units) but in terms of the proposed platforms it's still sketchy.According to the plan NAF is to acquire Attack aircraft (Not Helo),Fighter jets, Gunships,Laison helicopters,Maritime attack helicopter, surveillance aircraft,Medium and Heavy transport aircraft (Both Helo and fixed wing)Drones and trainer.
But since the current CAS inception we have gotten.4 new gunships (8 remaining)1 crashed,10 super mushshak,12 super tucano (To be delivered) 2 new attack Agusta 109k(4 remaining 1 Aw139 for Laison missions)
and a ''fixed winged fighter'' means what? an SU30 won't be coming in?

I am sure you dont have NAF strategic plan. All copies online have key areas blotted out. There are proposed acquisitions not even published

However I suspect MIG 29MST more possible than SU-3X and Yaks are sure as replacement for Alpha jets.

Oga this is hardly "advanced defence industry". Its a packaging outfit marrying mine protected vehicles a variety of small scale arms.
There is no systems integration involved and the manufacturing is heavily manual skills dependent

Saffas,I know you're biting your nails and won't check in til at least Saturday evening. You surprised me against Japan-your ball handling errors weren't the Boks we know and frankly if the Japs played intelligently kicking instead of trying to run you'd have been shocked. You should beat England though and I hope you do!

Oh yes. I am immensely proud of PROFORCE. Just dont call them advanced. They will think it's unnecessary flattery. They are mostly engineers

Rugby! Only sport real men play!
My cousin is a ref - sadly, a knee injury ended his playing career, after attaining provincial colours - and his favourite fixture is Kenya vs Uganda!
3 Saffas play for Japan and that might explain the jitters! grin grin grin

Personally, I was more disheartened by the Wales game than Japan. Weather report for the weekend encounter against the Poms - we rate the rivalry as Kiwis, Aussies then England - should favour us!

For the girly men here ignorant about this glorious sport: Rugby most approximates combat, if NCOs were ever allowed free rein, and the reason real men play it.
Cricket comes second, if officers were ever allowed to get their uniforms dirty! grin grin grin

I don't know much about military matters, but shouldn't the soldier with the dog be in the front of the team? you know, with the dog more in the front of the troops instead of in the rear, it's kind of useless if the canine is in the rear no?

I don't know much of military matters myself, just started following the military last year.

I think since they just rappelled down from the helicopter and moving towards the target, that's why the dog is behind.

When they reach the target, the soldiers would unleash the dog, and follow carefully from behind.

At-least that is what I see in movies and military documentaries.
