I actually don't see anything wrong in this. If as a lecturer I can handle multiple courses in multiple universities ....why not? If for example, I have multiple degrees in different fields (Computer Engineering and Mathematics) and I lecture Computer Science at one university and the other University requires a lecturer in Mathematics ...if they appoint me, I would gladly take it so far as it does not clash with my lecture schedules in the first university.

One of the reasons why you would not be engaged in research, you would have no time for your students, you would prevent other prospective lecturers from gaining employment, whilst actually working against the terms of your contract.

We need currupt politicians to all be exposed. But the dumb efcc puppet is only going after contractor with cardiac conditions who can honor invitation. Sham country and it sham govt and curruptn fight.

When politicians and aids start earning like #500K per month, Nigeria will be a better place. Then we will see the truth.

They can as a consultant but not as double staff of the Federal Govt.

This is great..many of my lecturers in school then has 3 good paying jobs...my HOD was working with the fiance ministry there... And teaching in two university whereas some people are jobless...its great fish them out

Don't encourage corruption.
No one is stopping them from doing a side job but not working as full time lecturers in more than one university. It is corruption and even hinders new graduates from being employed.

Good move.For them to focus in one institution the government should review there salary and emoluments because if they queue into the IPPIS then no more side kick and the extortion level of the students will thripple.Teaching in two Federal institutions is wrong.There are many M.Sc. and PhD holders earning paltry incomes and jobless that should be created space for in order for them to apply their teaching skills.
The lecturers can get a side job at the private institutions or more still state institutions.

Those in the medical line also work under Federal Medical centers and also open there own private hospitals and clinics.

This is not the case at all. University education is not that restricted anywhere else on earth. There are allowances for external examiners, sabbaticals, visiting professors, and there just HAS to be flexibility to account for all of these. If any of you hacks ever passed through a university, you would understand.
Destroying the entire system while the few privileged individuals persist in corruption of never before seen proportions is reprehensible, to say the least.

this is greediness considering the current state of unemployment in this country. More so, their student at the public institutions are the one at the receiving end.

i use to believe that lecturers can have more than one job under the law...

1. LECTURERS FROM FACULTY OF LAW HAVE TO PRACTICE LAW FULL TIME OR THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO TEACH TO THE BEST STANDARD.

2. LECTURERS FROM MEDICAL FACULTIES HAVE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE FULL TIME FOR THEM TO TEACH MEDICAL STUDENTS.

3. THIS APPLIES TO PHARMACY AS WELL

4. IF ENGINEERING WAS A "PRACTICAL" COURSE IN NIGERIA, IT WOULD BE UNDER SAME CATEGORIES.

RULE WILL WORK ON ALL THOSE SOCIOLOGY LECTURERS.

There is nothing wrong except that you have to be a Full staff in only one institution and a part time lecturer in the 2nd. What IPPIS will curb is being entitled to full pay from both university.

Reason why sometime you only see your lectuerer a few weeks to exam period or maybe just 3 times in a semester. Many of them lecture in other institutions.

Exactly and they will teach 4 months course within two weeks to the Exam also conduct CA a day to the Exam !!
