The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu lamented on
Thursday that mothers of cyber fraudsters popularly
known as Yahoo boys are now organising themselves
into an association.
Magu who addressed journalists at the Lagos office of
the commission in Ikoyi said such parents always
justify their children's activities with the arguments
that they were supporting their families in the place of
irresponsible, runaway or dead fathers.
Magu said the EFCC’s interest was not just to arrest the
Yahoo boys but also to see to their rehabilitation.

The aim of having a criminal justice system in the first place is to rehabilitate not just meting out punishment so as to prevent ex convict from being vulnerable to crime after their release
We need to decongest our correctional facility so the need to look beyond core imprisonment

Our prison system needs a big reform
All we use is imprisonment, capital punishment and fines
we could use community service, probation e.t.c
if someone commits a lesser crime instead of remanding him/her
He/She maybe ordered to teach, work, clean on a public service for weeks or months without pay, during the course of this He/She will be monitored
Honestly, we ain't thinking outside the box
