In this context, Tunde Bakare isnt an option. I think the battle is between Asiwaju and the Professor. Points to take note of:
(1) Influence: Its no longer news how influential Asiwaju has been and that isnt changing anytime soon. He is influential as far as APC is concerned nationwide. Through his massive influence, Osiomole ascend the grand position of the National Chairman, and through his influence, Yahaya Bello whom many thought would never click the party ticket, was favoured eventually. Osibanjo on the other hand is shorted in that regards. @MBuhari isnt helping him in that aspect, as his influence is continuously and ridiculously reduced as the day goes.

(2) Integrity: On this context, no much needs to be said that the great Professor has more in his arsenal than the Jagaban. Osibanjo is a well respected man and his integrity actually made him stand-out. No convincing scandal has rocked him since ascending the VP position, save the recent scandal about misappropriation of funds. Asiwaju on that area, cant stand the VP.

(3) Financial Command: With the asset declaration of the dual Presidency in 2015, it is save to say that Osibanjo is fully loaded, checkmating his previous offices and successful career both as an academia and as a professional lawyer. However, which wealth can be compared with politician's wealth? Asiwaju has all it takes to outrun the VP on the ground of funds.

(4) Corruption Allegations: With the recent bullion van scandal rocking Asiwaju, he is at disadvantage here. Many believes he should be arrested and persecuted for corruption. Well, the VP is clean and I think he gets the tumb here.

(5) Presidential Weight: From time immemorial, Governors and Presidents have always been against the idea of the Deputies clinging the position after the expiration of their tenures. Stats from Obasanjo/Akitu, Oshiomole/Odubu and a host of others. @MBuhari is trailing thesame path as he has constantly deprived the VP of the needed influence and ground to continue the mantle. With the most recent being the failure to transfer power to the Vice as constitution demands. Also, the Presidency has deprived the VP of some privileges and responsibilities taken away from him with some people alleging its an affront to twiddle down the influence of Osibanjo. All these point that Buhari may throw his weight behind Tinubu rather than Osibanjo and its gonna be a huge blow to his presidential ambition.

(6) Youths Option: This option focus on Nigeria Youths' mentality (based on the 2019 general election). Nigerian youths are only active on social media and rants all they want on FB, Nairaland, Twitter et al, but doenst take actions. They dislike old people rulling but never really support the young people's mandate. It's a pity our youth are not really ready to take the madate yet! Should a social media poll holds, Osibanjo will get the nods, but on the field, Tinubu gets it.

(7) Northern Criteria: Truth be told, the influence of the North isnt reducing any moment soon. Those guys are so political and desperately desire for more power as the time goes. However, since its only ETHICAL for a South-Westerner to take over the mantle, an average Northerner believes its not constitutional. Thus, on this criterion, both Asiwaju and Osibanjo are invalidated.

(7) General Acceptability: An average Nigeria understands that Osibanjo will make a good leader if given the opportunity, judging the few times he has taken up the mandate. Hence, Nigerians will easily accepts Osibanjo compared to Asiwaju.

VERDICT: All the above are based on my personal opinion. I believe, should the primary be free and fair, Osibanjo stands a better chance defeating his opponents and he'd make a beautiful leader and a president an average Nigerian will be proud of and be eternally grateful to!

Which other choice does the SE have?

The Pdp isn't giving the East Presidency. Maybe the SE can get it from the Apga or Sowore's party.

The PDP should wait for APC to zone their ticket and then counter.

A north/south east or south east/ north will work based on who APC throw forward.

If APC runs with a Yoruba, then Pdp should activate 2015.

Get a good and popular abokii to run as president and a eastern VP.

The South east is not desperate to be president and can wait.

If the PDP is ever zoning its presidency to the south, it is coming to the South east.
That is already set in stone.

But the question is that the PDP may not zone it to the south, but to the north based on political necessities hinged on the APC.

Why are Igbos so obsessed with VP If you can't contest the presidency with Yoruba, is it abooki you will contest it with

Who told you PDP will give the Igbos the presidential ticket at the end of northern PDP presidency

Nigeria's media is just useless.

Apart from Premium Times and Sahara Reporters, none of them does investigative journalism.

Nobody is worried that things don't work in the country, including the media.

We just concluded an election a few months ago.

Instead of these nonentities to dwell on development and get elected officials to work, they are busy discussing 2023.

The race to 2023 is a southwest thing with outsiders like Fayemi, Tunde Bakare and even Amosun. More powerful candidates are Tinubu, Osinbajo and Fashola.

Currying northern support is key in winning but although I cannot bare the entirety of my mind here but people should suspect some factors that can influence who among these that northern powers will support.

1. Fayemi: Amiable and a bridge builder but rather may be very calm and idealistic, he is urbane and quite educated. May not be favored by the Tinubu and APC southwest in the face of other available candidates. He might be the 3rd option for the Buhari camp.

2.Tunde Bakare: He is not a politician and he possess all the qualities but he may face a brick wall even if the Buhari camp present him at the primary election should only one of these other candidates also contest except Amosun. APC southwest and other Tinubu allies will not vote for him. This will be El-Rufai candidate and will probably give him the opportunity to be his vice
3. Amosun: He is very close to Buhari but will not be able to procure supports from his home base should he be presented by PMB. Except other ex-governors agree to campaign for him, it will be very difficult to sell in the southwest.
4. Tinubu: Powerful, influential and his influence cross boundaries. He can negotiate himself to power and can work his way to Aso Rock without much difficulty should PMB present him, its a done deal but for God. He can actually fulfill the dream of all the regions, he has exceptional skills and management and can assemble good hands but the North is afraid of him for some reasons i don't want to talk about but the jagaban is trying to thread softly.
5. Osinbajo: Should PMB present him, Tinubu may be handicapped and support him. Brilliant, calm but stubbornly committed to his beliefs, He will be a good period in Nigeria. The north may be wary of Tinubu's influence in his government but he is someone that can win votes from everywhere in the south , the middle belt and parts of the north. I believe he is second in Buhari's mind. Malami Abubakar, Hadi Sirika, or Bello Masari may be his Vice.
6. Fashola: Number one man on PMB radar. He is a workaholic, brilliant, analytical and a great force. With him Tinubu's influence will be minimal, he like Osinbajo will be pan Nigeria. The only problem will be who his vice would be of which Buhari may favor someone fro Northwest who is also a christian but Boss Mustapha, comes to mind as he has become powerful.

In summary, I honestly believe Tinubu has the political clout of wooing people across Nigeria even from PDP to become the president but Buhari is a serious factor in his emergence but I think Fashola, Osinbajo, Fayemi, Bakare, Amosun are in that order.
