OK now, it's time to dismantle the social media platforms in Nigeria since Buhari would not need them again.

Way forward. Anything that is needed to be done to get Nigerian to think and act rightly must be done. You cant just sit in your room and add a video of crime in Pakistan or elsewhere to comment on something that happened in Nigeria and then post on Facebook thereby making people to believe that the video and the comment relate to a particular situation.

Very good; all those hateful insolent Igbos and their ilk pedalling fake news and divisive misinformation will soon be kept in check - no more hiding place for them.

Olodo senate, want to shut nigerians up.

This is exactly the kind of misinformation they're talking about.

Only mischievous people, such as your humble self, who take to the internet to spread falsehood and malicious content will be gagged.

Now, are you paying N150k or do you prefer 3 years in jail?

Democracy dies in darkness.

We are making two steps forward and four steps backward,

Now I agree that Social media isnt for everybody and I have witnessed my fair share of Abuse but this law will weaponize the only right that Nigerians have been managing for a while now, imagine this same police that are undisciplined carrying out checks on mobile phones looking for "offenses against the state"

our Prisons will be full, and this administration has a poor human rights record

thunder fire you with that useless democracy. Democracy told you to misinform or malign people right? try it after the bill become Law you will waste in Prison. FOOL

Sharap my friend. If you are not a peddler of fake news then what are you worried about? These guys have become a nuisance lately. Biggest black nation on Earth discussing clones and Jubrin for years and Mr.President Marrying his Minister who he impregnated with twins !!!

Those who deliberately misinform Nigerians because they work for their own parochial agenda should officially face punishment. I back this bill die and they might as well call it death to bloggers bill. Nigeria needs information regulation and sanity ojare.

I do not have problems with the Bill. I have problems with proponents of such bill.

U know why, there can never be greater misinformation elsewhere more than the information politicians churns out.

Which other misinformation is greater than these;

1) The president cannot go into the office because of rats.

2) The President is in London to treat ear infection.

3) Boko Haram has been technically defeated.

4) Power has improved in Nigeria.

5) You can feed with N30 in Kano.

6) And many more.

Do you plant cassava to harvest Tomatoes?

Well their excuse for this bill is just a cover up for the real reason, it is Nigeria, this is just a way of ensuring complete gag over free speech and opinions... Now the government has free reign to imprison anyone who criticize the government and when u complain they will quote this "bill"/ law..... Democracy has finally flown out the window

Even the government peddles fake news, who will arrest them then? The likes of Lai Mohamed, Adams Oshiomole and even the man from daura himself... Who will arrest them then? Nigerians, our freedom is being stripped away one step at a time, yet we can't even see that we are almost prisoners in our own country...

This present government will always bring out something irrelevant just to distract Nigerians from the present hardship going on in the country. Till next 4yrs government can never achieve anything meaningful rather than sharing money and traveling the whole country and shutting up Nigerians. Anything that has beginning surely have an end
