Go and read rights of airlines, they have the right to refuse to board a passenger, even after fully paying for their ticket. It happened earlier this year, where a passenger was let out from an aircraft because he was disrespectful to an air hostess, and another was also banned from travelling for putting on revealing outfits onboard a flight with kids. So before you people are quick to shout foul, be sure of facts.

Man laments after Air Peace Airline refused to lift him and his colleagues after checking in today at Lagos airport.

According to the man who was heading to Port Harcourt with his colleagues, Air Peace officials refused to let them board the plane because they refused to delete a video they recorded with their phone.

In the said video, they questioned the airline officials for delaying their flight but were subjected to an uncomfortable situation.

Please let this get to the right quatres. I wanted to check in for flight going to Freetown at Airpeace Lagos. What was written on the ticket was 32kg luggage and 7kg hand luggage which the airline allows every passenger to check in.

The manager mandated his subordinates who were responsible for checking in luggage to allow only 30kg instead of 32kg. I was made to pay for 2kg whereas my luggage was 32kg and have a teller which they issued to that effect.

I need to report the exploitative tendency of airpeace manager at Murtala Mohammed Airport to Air Peace Management for a definite action.

I have evidence to the above claim.

Please if you know how I could reach out to them, kindly DM.

I know Air Hostesses and Pilots can refuse to fly unruly or disruptive passengers ‘onboard’ any flight. This incident appears to be a civil dispute between members of public and customer representatives for the airline at the airport terminal albeit not airside. I do not think the customer service agents or manager have the power to ask any person to delete any footage and it is not part of their terms or conditions. It is a public place and restricting recording for security or hostile reconnaissance can be considered. It is unlawful in my opinion and I think the agents are ‘reaching’ however I am deferring to the knowledge of legal experts because this scenario is wary until we know the full ‘facts’
