sunnychibs: Now that you've been offered admission, if others' regrets is what is next in your head, you might not really go far. I can assure you you'll be battered and bruised, demoralized and downcast. You'll fail and fall short of your own expectations in engineering but what would keep you going is the passion to be an engineer. Leave other people's regret and focus on how to overcome this big hurdle you found for yourself. I forgot to tell you too, you'll learn nothing. 131 Likes 7 Shares |

sunnychibs: Try as much as possible to chase a first class if not possible make sure you get a 2.1. Anything less than that you will end up getting a master degree, acquiring certifications sometimes experience which are most times expensive and time wasting as compare to doing your best in coming out with a 2.1 so you can apply for a graduate trainee job which doesn't require all what I have mentioned above. Most graduate trainee job esp in Oil and Gas needs a 2.1, scholarship etc, there a lot of benefits making a 2.1. If na to block omo block ooo. 47 Likes 3 Shares |

Yes i do. Infant I regret even studying in this soil. After my SSCE my cousin left for Germany, insiting that he does not need any further education, i never bought the idea and never made any effort to convince my parents on joining him with the opportunity we had then. Today the difference is clear. Engineering without any proper platform to work is that one engineering, Las Las you get monthly upkeep find business join. That's is if one is opportuned o. All this study study with no plans to actualize it nah proper scam 16 Likes 2 Shares |

You will most certainly have regrets if you do not heed carefully to the following: 1. You must like engineering and have passion for it to succeed. This will be the driving force to strive against the inevitable odds that will come and to go extra mile as the discipline will demand. It is not too late to turn back if you lack enthusiam for engineering. Evaluate yourself. Do you really see your self striving to learn how things work even if it is not in your syllabus? 2. Passing engineering modules is not enough, you must really understand them inorder to have no regrets later. There is a very little to absolutely no demand for the average chemical engineer but very high demand for excellent ones. Try to hit atleast a 2,1 to widen your field of access to opportunities but what will matter in the end is what you know and your potential to provide solution. 3. Don't skip any module in school. What ever you fail to learn at a particular stage will haunt you in future. 4. Among other modules, make sure you understand these ones very very well: - Fluid Mechanics -General Engineering Thermodynamics: laws of thermodynamics and their consequence, heat engine cycles, heat pump cycle, refrigeration cycles, exergy and renewable sources of energy. - Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics: most especially vapour-liquid equilibrium, thermodynamic properties and departures. -Transport Phenomena: emphasis on heat and mass transfer - Reaction Engineering - Principles of Design. - Separation Processes: Distillation, absorption, adsorption, membrane separations, solvent extraction and crystallisation are key. - Refining and Petrochemical Operations - Computer Aided Modelling and Simulation: MATLAB and Aspen HYSYS. 5. It will be a herculean task to really understand the bolded because most nigerian lecturers and students alike do not really understand them or their usefulness. You will have to work alone. Use Online sources like youtube to learn the needful. DO NOT GRADUATE WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING THE BOLDED VERY WELL!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARNED!!! 52 Likes 10 Shares |

Engineering is the best profession in the whole world if only you know the technical know-how behind your choice of engineering discipline. The problems with NIGERIA ENGINEERS are lack of technical know-how, research, innovativeness, commitment and creativity. Other factors include poor performance in terms of practical knowledge. Make sure you take your industrial training(SIWES) seriously and be practically focused. Try to graduate with First class or 2.1, Go for further training in engineering softwares related to your discipline. Modern engineering tasks are mostly being good in engineering softwares and practical applications. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Take it from me, I'm an undergraduate of Mechanical engineering. When you first get the admission the thrill will be there but take it slow it won't be long before you start singing the national anthem which is 'last last school na scam'. I don't regret studying engineering it taught me a lot about life and that everything ain't about school. Some win in school some win in life. Don't let anyone use CGPA to disturb you. Give in your best but if you can't do that give in the minimum that you won't have to carry over any course. Learn and unlearn. Don't be close minded. Learn as much as possible. I'm an Engineer by God's grace but I'm currently writing a film script. Nothing correlates between the two. I'm also learning German now, after it I'lI take French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and so on. It's a journey I hope never ends. I'm also working on a Tech startup. My advice is that give school the minimum and your life and personal growth the maximum. Starting a business now may attract mockery but in the next 5 years when you're about to graduate you'll be surprised if by then you haven't dropped out of school to focus on your business. There are other things to learn web design, animation using blender, cinema 4d and so on Alison.com Should help. Just begin something of your own while schooling no matter how small. Two men were trapped on a river during a storm. They asked themselves what should we do, row or pray? They rowed and prayed at the same time. That's How you should roll. Pray Danke 23 Likes 2 Shares |

Yes and No Yes in the sense that ... What we study here is obsolete. As an undergraduate decades back, a lecturer noticed someone not joting/ without notes and he accused him. He made us understand he was using a note he got 20yrs ago as an undergraduate then.... We asked him, why same note, and his response was.... The curricula has not changed. One reason we are still independent as a nation. No.... Passion for engineering has helped to be more creative even outside engineering. . I will advice you study outside theory, this will help you achieve engineering not just a scholar. 2 Likes |
