Nigerian Actress, Halima Abubakar has taken to Instagram to support the fact that nothing is wrong in parents checking if their daughter’s hymen has been broken.

This is coming after American rapper, T.I broke the internet with a strange news that bares that he goes to the doctor with his daughter, Deyjah Harris, yearly to check if her hymen is still intact.

His words:

Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen.

So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday. This is what we do. Right after the birthday, we celebrate. Usually, like the day after the party, she’s enjoying her gifts.

I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.’ So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism.

He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? See doc? No problem.’.

And so then they come and say, ‘Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.’

So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously. I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

However, since the news broke out, most of the social media users have been condemning the act, saying it’s an act of being overprotective, while others feel it’s a good move as it ensures the chastity of the child.

Well, Halima seems to be on the supporting side of the argument as she also stated the experience she had with her dad doing the same for her when she was younger.

But to be frank, sleeping around exposes one to STI, and some STI's can do awful things like render a young woman sterile. Or render a young man impotent, or in some instances , have something called strictures....(google it.).

But what is good for women is good for men too. Many women stay virgins, and are infected by men who they trusted. Men who could not keep it in their pants. And one cannot claim to love a woman, while hurting them.

The Bible is also very very strict about male virginity too.

In the book of Exodus, there are punishments for men who lay with a girl who is bethrothed...even to the point of death.

And for a girl who is not bethrothed....

Then there is Jesus saying a man who looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery...which is a sin.Even if the man has not slept with the woman.

So you see, the bible is just as hard on men too.Men cannot sleep outside of marriage without consequences, and sleeping around for a man within marriahge has its consequences.

Plus, why should a man sleep around, contract all the diseases like HIV and so on...and then pass it to his virgin wife? Is that right? Is that love?
