Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I just finished serving last month and I got a job offer of 40k. I am a B.Sc holder, graduated with second class upper. I need your candid advice whether I should accept or decline the job offer.

Reject it and let hunger kee you there

You only have to reject a job when there's another one around the corner.

If it's close to your place of abode and you won't be spending much on transport, you can take it so you can take care of some bills and gain some experience. However, the job should be flexible enough so you can be able to look out for better opportunities, else you get stuck.

Yeah, that's one of the things I am considering cos the resumption time is 8am and you close 5pm. The work day is from Monday to Friday n the transport fare per day is #250.

Accept the offer and gain some work experience for yourself while you keep searching.
My first job in 2014 after serving was 24k, now by the grace of GOD I'm receiving 10 times that amount and still aiming for more.

The transport is not on the high side. The working hours is pretty much the same in most places. You can take up the offer, but ensure that you're constantly on the look out for better opportunities. Also try as much as possible to add value to yourself, as well as seek out alternative means of income.

Good luck!

What do you stand to lose if you accept the job?

We do not have the full context of your situation. No doubt you'll be trading a good chunk of your time and energy weekly for that stated amount. What are your other options?
Go try the job out anyway. Have fun.
I'm certain the exposure and experience would help guide your future decisions.

Irrespective of the pay for now. Just accept it, it will all count as job experience when the big job interview comes. And it will also tell good of you during bigger interviews if you can see the inherent advantage.....

Accept it and continue to look for better alternatives..

It will not only keep you busy, you'd gain the experience that will boost your CV and give you better chance over applicants without work experience.

You have four options to consider:

1. Accept the job, and do it joyfully until your heaven break lose.
2. Create a job.
3. Go to the farm.
4. Reject the job offer and wait for the better days that may never come as big things always starts small.

Do not despise these small beginnings... Zechariah 4:10
