A bill seeking to establish a federal government agency to check hate speech in the country has passed first reading on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday. . . The Bill, titled National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speeches (Estb., etc) Bill 2019, is being sponsored by the the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi. The 8th Senate tried without success to pass the Bill in 2017. The same Senator Abdullahi had sponsored it. He had proposed a death penalty for people found guilty of Hate Speech. whatisthetruth:When Osibanjo's daughter says something in direct contradiction to Buhari's policy, then that is hate speech and justice must be done. Let us fold our hands and see. They still have to look into that so as not to be affected. As at now, the best course to read in the uni is "law" Finally the fight for October 1st 1960 has been rendered useless. |
